Chapter 93 - Summoning Time

It didn't take me long to make it to the training room, with my excitement and eagerness to use my tokens, my pace was quick and I made it there in a matter of minutes. After informing the guards that I was not to be disturbed unless it was an emergency, I took a quick look around the room. It was the same room I'd used before and for the most part, it hadn't really changed, although the weapons rack wasn't empty and there were a few weapons scattered around the room, which meant someone or a few people had been using it but had mostly rushed out when they'd been notified that I was on my way and that I wanted privacy.

Perhaps at another time, I would have felt bad, but I was far too excited.

"Migi, do you think my decision is good then?" I asked.

Migi appeared a moment later and turned his gaze to me. "It is an apt decision. From what you've told me this man will be very beneficial, though you do still run the risk of getting someone less useful."

We'd had a quick chat early about the special request token and after bouncing a few ideas of each other, we'd finally settled on one, which could go very well or very average. I could find a use for anyone but preferred the one I wanted.

With a quick command, Migi morphed back into my hand and I turned to face the open space in front of me. I'd use my special request token last, which left me with four common tokens, two unique tokens, and 1 situation token.

The commons would go first.

I focused a moment later the room lit up as four bright flashes of light appeared.

[1 Common Token Used]

[Summoning Entity]

[Summoning Complete: Megumin(Konsuba)]

[1 Common Token Used]

[Summoning Entity]

[Summoning Complete: Gaping Dragon(Dark Souls)]

[1 Common Token Used]

[Summoning Entity]

[Summoning Complete: Hector(Castlevania)]

[1 Common Token Used]

[Summoning Entity]

[Summoning Complete: Knov(HunterxHunter)]

I blinked away the blurriness the light had left in my eyes and turned to face my new summons. You'd think that by now I'd be used to it, but seeing characters from fiction I'd seen or read or played appear in front of me was still shocking and sometimes I felt like pinching myself to make sure that this was all real and that I hadn't gone insane.

I glanced down and pinched myself. Nope, I was still sane.

The four, or should I say three, since the gaping dragon was nowhere to be seen, which made sense considering it wouldn't fit in this room and Eden had said it would be sent to by storage, so I'd have to check on it at a later time, and preferably far away from the kingdom, so as to not cause mass panic. Oars was bad enough, the gaping dragon truly looked like something from a nightmare. An eldritch horror with a mouth that true to its namesake gaped open as the upper half of its body. Just imagining this thing in front of me was a shock, and would probably be even worse for my enemies. The thought of the looks on their faces as a giant nightmare dragon charged at that did put a smile on my face.

I turned back to my other summons which had actually appeared and I couldn't say I was disappointed at all.

First was Megumin which at first seemed like more of a joke character, but if she could actually use explosion magic as she did in the anime then she would be the equivalent to a nuclear weapon, especially if she was endgame Megumin who could do three-ring explosion magic. It was the same thing as Gible, at first it didn't seem like they were dangerous, but that was just because of the shows they were from. Megumin was never really taken seriously in her show, and when you thought of pokemon you didn't think of a Gible tearing spines apart and burning people alive with flamethrower.

She would be extremely useful and her personality wasn't bad, though I didn't know how to feel about her chuunibyou tendencies. In the end, her personality would be a breath of fresh air compared to some of my other's summons, not that I disliked any of them.

Next was Hector, and I didn't need to think much about this. From his clothes and appearance, he seemed to be the Hector from the animated series. His devil forging, which allowed him to creature night creatures would be extremely useful in creating large armies from the corpses of our enemies, and though the idea of using corpses didn't sit completely right with me, I knew I would still end up going along with it in the end. Despite everything that had happened, I was still myself and certain things just didn't go over well.

After Hector came the last, but most certainly not least of my summons. Knov's nen ability alone would be extremely useful and helpful, but along with his experience and fighting prowess. Well, let's just say the criminals of Larra were done for and infiltration just got a whole lot easier. He was a conjuration type nen user and his teleportation ability made him extremely deadly, and it wasn't just normal teleportation, but portal creation to an extra-dimensional space that had multiple rooms. The thoughts and ideas of what was now possible were already circling in my mind. I hadn't even finished using all my summoning tokens and I'd already gotten extremely useful summons.

"Boss!" Megumin shouted, running up to me with a wide smile on her face. "You don't need to fear anymore. I, Megumin, archwizard of Crimson Demon Clan, is now here!"

"Crimson demon clan?" Hector asked, looking Megumin up and down. "Archwizard? Really?"

I let out a snort of daughter which caused Megumin to shoot me a mock glare. It wasn't surprising that Hector had his doubts. Megumin didn't really look like an arch wizard, she looked more like a little girl in a weird dress.

"Looks can be deceiving," Knov said in a calm tone, adjusting his glasses slightly. "What can you do?"

"Hmph, I can perform the greatest magic that has ever existed," Megumin said, brandishing her staff. "EXPLOOO-"

"Oh no," I said, placing a hand over her mouth. "Not in here, you do one later, outside."

She shot me another mock glare, but after a long moment gave me a nod.

"Good, now we'll speak some more in a bit. Actually how much do you know?"

This had been a question I'd been wondering about for a while. Did they have knowledge of what had happened or was it blank.

"We are in the kingdom of Larra, You are the king and our leader," Knov said. "The kingdom is in a state of recovery and improvement. There is more, but to keep it short, we know what we need to know so that you don't have to spend a long amount of time explaining things to us."

"Oh, well that helpful," I said. "We'll talk more about your positions and what I can have you do after I'm done using the rest of my summoning tokens."
