Chapter 56 - Whose Laughing Now?

It was chaos, in all honesty, summoning everyone in the middle of an army and using my summoning tokens, but I was prepared as four bright flashes of light lit up the area around me I sent a mental command to my summons to attack and another to capture Biroth and anyone else who looked to be of some importance.

I blinked as the sound of screaming and shouting roared around me. The roar of Rathalos and the stomping feet of Oars as he tore the army apart with long sweeps of his cleaver. The sound of Blair laughing as she fired pumpkins into the mass, and sounds of gunfire and steel on steel. Everywhere I looked was chaos and I didn't even have time to truly take in the new summons who had appeared around me.

They all turned to face me and without hesitation I sent Rindo to storage, not being stupid enough to leave a cook out in the middle of a chaotic battlefield. I didn't say anything because, in all honesty, I doubted I'd be heard over the sound of battle coming from around us. Instead, I sent mental commands for them to join the fight and to capture a man named Biroth and anyone else who looked of importance.

Danzo gave me a nod then vanished while Esdeaht leaned in to give me a quick kiss then a smile before a large pillar of ice shot up from beneath her, launching her into the air. Asia looked completely out of place on the battlefield. She was in the school uniform she was typical wearing on the show and was looking around nervously, clearly unsure of where to go despite my orders. I pulled her close to me and she let out a surprised squeak before burying her face in my chest.

"Sorry, I-I don't T-think I can do it," Asia stuttered. I smiled down at her and rubbed her head as I glanced around at the carnage.

"Don't be," I said. "We can improve on that, and this fight is all but won. I just need confirmation they have Biroth then I can have Esdeath or Oars finish it."

If she was the manga Esdeath then freezing the army should be well within her abilities though she would be slightly drained afterward. The only reason I hadn't ordered that or ordered Oars to go completely wild was because I wanted Biroth so that he could be an example. I wanted his death to be in front of everyone. I wanted the nobility and the common people to know what would come of trying to rise against me and start a war that would do nothing but get innocent people killed and cause more destruction to a kingdom that hadn't even healed from the last war.

"S-sir?"

I blinked and looked down at Asia who was staring worriedly at me. It took me a second to notice but my grip on her had tightened slightly without me knowing. I loosened it and gave her an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry, Asia," I said. "Just thinking about things, and please don't call me sir, I'm not much older than you"

She nodded then bit her lip. "W-would you like me to summons Fafnir?"

I paused remembering that she had access to summoning magic alongside many others and had made a pact with one of the five dragon kings, Fafnir. That alone made her useful but with all her other abilities, I was damn happy I'd summoned her. Not to mention the fact that she had powerful healing magic, and I'd need a healer.

"There's no need," I said. "This battle is done. Adding Fafnir would just cause more chaos. I mean look around."

I waved at the area around us. Rath was launching fireballs from his mouth while Blair had left on a pumpkin to do some damage elsewhere since this part of the battlefield was empty of life. There were just piles of bodies everywhere. Rath had stayed with me and had his wing partially covering me and Asia protectively.

I looked over to the areas where fighting was still going on and had to shake my head. Every time i seemed to blink another section of the army was just gone. It was clear what was happening. By now if it had just been a straight fight my summons would have won already but since I'd ordered them to look for someone they were probably holding back.

If this is holding back, I thought, then I'm I wonder what going all out is.

My mind was racing at the possibilities of my new summons, but for now, I focused on the battle. I looked to my right just in time to see a large number of Twice clones crash into a group of soldiers, growing them and a quick glance to the east showed a horrific sight, which I made sure to keep from Asia.

Holy fuck, I thought looking at the screaming soldiers crawling over one another, she really is sadistic and brutal.

Thank god she was on our side.

Esdeath alone was going to be a game-changer since one of her greatest feats in the manga had been the freezing an entire continent, though it had taken her some prep work and certain conditions had to be met for her to do so, but the fact alone that she could do so made her invaluable, though I doubted I'd be doing so on this world.

I had no doubt people would sense it if she tried and would come looking and while we were strong, from the books I'd read back at the village we weren't ready at all to fight even the high-level mid-rank mages or kords, though if I kept growing stronger at this rate then it wasn't to far off. Months in comparison to years. The higher my level the greater chance of getting stronger summons and I had a plan for some level grinding after this war was over, which it kind of already was.

"Boss! We got him!" Shouted Leone and I looked to where the sound was coming from to see Leone running towards me with a well-dressed man beside her.

"Look, Asia, my prize is here," I said, smiling widely.
