The Avengers Part 6

Getting serious I say:

"What do you want from me? You know I already have a team, I can't join yours"

Fury is silent for a few seconds before saying:

"I want you to be my backup plan if things get messy"

"Then explain the situation to me if you want my support" I said.

"A being from another world has come to ours and wants to start an invasion to rule our world. He also has control of agent Barton and Doctor Selvig"

"So what is the invader's name?" I asked him.

"His name is Loki"

"I see, alright, I'll be your backup plan"

"Then I'll be letting you know if things get messy" Fury said.

After a short conversation, I end the call.

Being an Avenger may sound appealing but with the plans I have in mind, joining them would make things very complicated.

Putting aside my thoughts I get out of bed.

After breakfast, I meet up with the others and tell them what Fury told me.

"An alien, huh?" Wanda said.

"So what are we going to do now?" Mystique asked.

"We have to wait, in the moment he calls us we must be prepared" I told them.

"Are we really going to help them? We're mutants, won't they blame us for this once it's over?" Pietro said.

Everyone fell silent since Pietro's words had a bit of truth, in this society being a mutant is not always a good thing.

"Well don't worry too much about it, we'll just do what we think is right, what other people think of us shouldn't matter"

Getting serious I continue:

"Not only did I call you for that, but also for something very important"

Seeing my serious expression, everyone listens carefully to my words.

"We need a name for the team" I said.

When they heard my «important» words, the women rolled their eyes.

Pietro seems interested in the topic.

"How about we call ourselves the Ex-Machina team?"

"Rejected, and also, Pietro, stop reading that nonsense or I will destroy your collection" Wanda told him while she looks at him angrily for the name he offered.

Pietro's face changed upon hearing Wanda's threats.

"It's alright dear sister, I won't say stupid things anymore" Pietro said quickly to calm Wanda down.

The others laughed at their interaction.

On the other hand, I'm interested in that collection of Pietro's, so I ask Wanda:

"What collection are you talking about?"

Before Wanda spoke, Pietro quickly changed the topic.

Seeing Pietro's attitude, I stop asking.

After talking for a bit, we ended up not deciding on a name.

Leaving them, I head to the courtyard with Laura to train her a bit, since we haven't had time to talk alone for a long time.

With the events of The Avengers, I just have to wait for the invasion that will take place in New York.
