New Steps Part 1

That book is useless to me even if I see what is written in it.

After all, destiny is not written in stone and trusting what that book says will only make me dependent and obsessive.

And it could drive me crazy.

Seeing me burn the book, Irene just smiled.

Mystique felt confused and looking at me asks me:

"Why did you destroy the book, with it you would gain advantage and you would know the future, aren't you curious?"

I look at her like she's an idiot and I reply:

"You're an idiot, of course I was curious but I just didn't want what was written in that book to dominate my life"

With a smile on my face, I continue:

"Also I follow my own path, not the one written by someone I didn't even know, I'm too cool for fate to control me"

Psylocke rolled her eyes at my shameless words.

The others didn't know what to say.

I look at Irene and ask her:

"Stryker read this book?"

"No, when he found it he didn't have time to read it due to your meddling" said Irene.

"I see, does that mean that no one apart from us knows its existence?" Mystique asked her.

"Yes, I never told anyone" she answered.

"Okay, so do you know where the other books are?" I asked Irene.

"Maybe but why do you want to know?"

"Isn't it obvious? I have to find them and destroy them, since as long as they exist and you know their location, that will put you in danger"

Irene just smiles at my words.

While Mystique stays thoughtful after hearing my plans.

Leaving the underground base.

Emma looks at Psylocke and says:

"Looks like you teamed up with someone very interesting"

"He's just a weird person, but it's not bad to work for him" Psylocke replied.

"Work for him?" Emma asked her.

"Yes, I am working for him for the next 5 years since he wants to form a team. That is also the reason why I came to see you"

"Oh, he wants me to be part of his team, that's fine, since I don't have a fixed place it would be interesting to accompany you" Emma said after thinking about it for a few seconds.

"I see then I'll tell him"

Finishing speaking, Psylocke approached Alex to tell him that Emma agreed to join him.

Alex Wayne POV

When we left the underground base, I'm glad what Psylocke said.

It seems that Emma decided to join my team, I think it's about time I think of a name for the team, after all a name is important.

Mystique's group were talking to each other in a secluded spot.

So I stayed away from them and decided to talk to Emma.
