I was always good at learning languages so just listening to my mother and maids speak I was able to associate words with their meanings. It also helped that I was a baby so any toy or thing I was interested in they would always tell me in a baby-like way.
I also found out my name was Leon, Leon Eragon. Which is a pretty badass name if I do say so myself. My mother on the other hand was called Beatrix. She was an amazing mother, she worked a lot but still made time for me which I appreciated so I tried making things easier for her. I only ever cried when I needed a nappy change, hungry or when I needed to be burped. Besides those times I was always smiling and laughing.
I've also learned all the names of the people in the mansion. But probably the most important was Lucia the head maid and the two guards at my door protecting me almost 24/7. The only time they weren't was when either Lucia or my mother was with me.
As for my father, I had no clue, maybe he died or maybe he was just away buying milk. I didn't really care. I had my mother and that's all I needed. Though I did wonder one thing for the past 6 months I've been living here, and that was... I've never seen a single male. All the staff were female, though ill probably get an answer to that in the future. For now, I guess I'll just have to wait.
Though now that I've adapted to my new life, I'm thankful for it. I was scared at the beginning but I finally got over it and started to enjoy it. How many people can say they got to re-do life and do better than they did before. Not many I'm guessing.
Though I do need to remind myself sometimes that this life can go just as easily if I'm not careful. One thing I need to watch out for is my personality and attitude, just because I'm now in a wealthy family doesn't mean I need to treat those with less any differently.
I love my mom but the way she spoils me if I hadn't been reborn as her son I dread to think what Leon would have become. He might have become like one of those young masters in those Chinese novels in his past life. Just the thought sends chills down my spine. A second thing is my body, in this life I need to train to the best I can. I was fat in my past life so now I at least want to be fit and healthy.
And the final thing is history. I need to absorb as much knowledge as I can about this world when my lessons start in around 2 years. So I'll be 3 years old.
You might think that's a bit early but according to other maids, I was quite the genius, already being able to speak my first words and a couple of others before turning one. Other kids normally start at 4 and a half or 5, Nobles start at 4 years old.
Now that I think about ages, my birthday is coming up. My mum wants to celebrate me becoming one year old. She even had some of the best foods shipped to eat at the party. I still can't even eat yet so it was probably for the guests.
Mum doesn't have a lot of friends, the only ones that I know of is Lucia the head maid, my two guards, mia and lea, and her two secretaries, Camila and Marigold.
So I can't wait to see her other friends. Apparently only 5 or 6 people will be coming. I also heard that from the maids gossiping, that there bigshots though I don't really know how big.
But enough about my birthday or things that have been happening in the past months now I need to concentrate on the task at hand. To defeat a foe so mighty almost no baby has ever conquered them before.
That mighty foe is...the stairs. Yes, you heard right, the stairs. For you see down these stairs is a library, there are two libraries in the mansion, one on the second floor and one in my mother's office. And since I want to learn more about this world I need knowledge and info. I already gathered that this world one, Has nobles and two has advanced technologies. How advanced I don't know, but it's definitely decades ahead of my past world.
I would have asked one of the maids if I could play with the hologram watch implanted in their wrists but I've discovered that no one besides the owner can touch or interact with it.
So that option was out of the question. And I could wait until I am 3 to learn all this stuff but that's in two years. Do you understand how boring that is for a teen in a baby's body to do nothing all day besides play with toys, eat, crap, and sleep? I would die of boredom. Hell, the only highlight of the day is when his mom feeds him milk.
Milk that I may or may not have gotten addicted to. Ahh, I gotta stop daydreaming, focus Leon it's time to conquer the stairs, here we go. One..two
" There you are young master, I was worried sick. I take my eyes off you for a minute and you just disappear. This is the 3rd time this month."
'Dame it, I'm too late' sigh que the MW2 quote.
{Chhhh, Mission Failed, we'll get 'em next time.}
Leon was picked up by the maid that was on duty to take care of him. He could only watch as the stairs become fainter and fainter.
He glared at the stairs vowing to conquer them one day. He vowed in the name of A really small Frenchman.
Will Leon one day conquer the infamous Down D Stairs. Find out in the next chapter.
