Against the World: The last Monapart

No one with the name Monapart could ever use magic. But no Monapart ever cared about it. They were always the strongest of them all. Each one stronger than the last. The world couldn't accept their existence. When the strongest Monapart died, they swore to never let another one get stronger again. Every human, beast, and demon would be killed at the mere mention of the name... But time passes, and soon, they forgot. "Curses...Curses... The fucking curses! They were the rage, the fear, and the embodiment of someone's will, so why?! Why all of them are made to kill everything?!" Said the first Monapart. But the curse in front of him didn't answer, it just stared at him smiling like always. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When he was born, he didn't cry, nor made any kind of sound in the process, but no one cared for him enough to notice. After just two days of life, he opened his eyes. An unusual thing as babies usually need at least a month to do so. His green eyes moved wildly looking at every corner of his room with deep curiosity, but not understanding anything in his view. He still couldn't understand the concept of 'thing' yet, but that changed after one month of life. After one month, he understood he was alive and most of the things in the room weren't. He still couldn't put it in words but he clearly knew that he was way different than the chair next to him. The speed of his understanding was outstanding. Sadly, in his sixth month of life, while he was asleep, flames covered his entire room and himself. It didn't take even a second and all the room turned into ashes. The baby didn't die as expected, but he was no longer in the dark room. [ Curse received: Heart offering ] . . [ Heart offering: Once per day the curse bearer will lose one of his five senses until he loses everything or dies ] . . [ Heart offering is taking effect ] . . [ Sense of hearing lost] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -At least one chapter of 1000 words a day -If you don't like the start, I guess chapter 21 is a good one to jump to but you will still feel a little lost -If you find any error, please comment on it and I will fix it -I hope you like it

Reaper

Two more portals were destroyed and the other two absorbed their power becoming several times stronger.

Alexander and Evan became anxious and excited while waiting for what was gonna be summoned next. Then, two skeletons of giants appeared.

Alexander looked at the giant in front of him, it was 20 meters tall, had full body armor, and a giant club in its right hand.

The two didn't even have time to react, the skeletons were way faster than they appeared.

The two giants ran towards them at such speed and size the earth trembled.

When they got close enough, Alexander and Evan separated and each got to fight one.

The giant smashed the ground Alexander was standing with its giant club. Alexander barely avoided the attacks and retaliated with his own punches.

Alexander couldn't deal any significant damage to the giant and he was only getting more tired. On the other hand, the skeleton had infinite stamina.

'I have to hit harder... but maybe if I...'

The azure glass sword was glued in his hand the whole time and it made dodging a lot more difficult.

Alexander attempted to remove the sword from his hand by blocking one of the giant's attacks.

The result sent him flying across the battlefield and he used the natural steps to recover midair.

Natural steps, another footwork created by Evan focused on locomotion and speed. He wanted to travel efficiently but the different terrain and obstacles made it too hard. So he made something that could move very fast no matter the environment with an incredible balance and equilibrium. It was faster than shadow steps but it was impossible to attack while using it.

'Ouch... now's let's try plan B'

He used the shadow steps to get closer and started to use the sword in his hand. He never used a sword before so he wanted to get the feel of it.

A few minutes passed, then an hour, then two, and after five hours of fighting, Evan was sweating like crazy.

He smiled while looking at the giant in front of him.

"It's been a while"

Ao contrary to what anyone would expect, Evan didn't get any slower or weaker. He only got stronger and faster as the battle went on.

He glanced at Alexander's side to see how he was faring against the giant.

He saw Alexander using his sword to make series and series of horizontal cuts all around the skeleton's armor. He could see at naked eye, each of his swings becoming better and better in a matter of seconds.

"Let's have fun as well"

Evan became competitive as he looked at the absurd movements Alexander made with his new sword skills.

Evan's blood became hotter, his veins bulged and his heartbeat accelerated. The giant's armor was getting more and more covered in his blood as he used his bare hands to punch it.

Cracks started appearing on the armor and just as he was about to break it...

Two more giants were summoned.

The two giants went running towards Alexander as he was the closest. Evan became worried for him but it didn't last long as he saw the smile on his face.

"The little fucker is crazy... Just like I taught him"

Alexander saw the two giants approaching and became overjoyed. He stopped attacking and focused only on dodging to recover some energy.

The three giants smashed everything around them trying to hit Alexander but they couldn't do it. Using shadow steps, Alexander dodged everything by the smallest amount, The giant clubs missing only a hair breath away from flattening him.

Alexander climbed on the giant and stood on its shoulder, The other two quickly smashed their clubs on the head of their comrade.

Their own attacks did way more damage than Alexander in the whole five hours he spent fighting.

Alexander repeated the process a few times. The giants' armor broke entirely. One lost both arms, the other lost its legs, and the last lost an arm.

Alexander was too tired from using shadow steps too often. He could feel his muscles contracting and screaming to stop. If he continued to use it, his muscles would tear apart.

At the same time. Evan destroyed the skull of the one he was fighting. After destroying every bone in a way it couldn't revive, he rushed to help Alexander deal with the last one.

But just as Evan approached, the giant realized its plight and ran to the portals.

"Undead can feel scared?"

Alexander didn't chase as he was too weak to do so. Evan, on other hand, didn't spare efforts to chase it down.

Alexander saw the skeleton reaching the portal but didn't think much of it. Evan didn't share the same optimism as he watched the giant swing its club at the portal.

*BANG!*

The portal was destroyed and the last portal absorbed the energy. It became several times stronger and it wasn't over yet. All the bones that couldn't be revived and the still-alive giants turned into energy before being sucked into the portal.

Lightning fell on the portal as the creature was summoned. It was way smaller than the giants but the difference in strength was clear.

Red eyes, black skull, wearing a long robe, and holding a scythe. It was a Reaper.
