It takes place after the soul of Jasmine's brother, Heavenly Star Wolf Xisu, told him about the truth of the Absolute Star Soul Barrier. I advise you to read the original before reading this, as it contains spoilers up to the latest published chapter available. The cover is not mine, if you want me to take it down then please, shoot me a dm! Also, if you don't like chapters that don't have fights in them, then maybe this is not your cup of tea. I'd like to explore more about Yun Che's relationships with everyone he knew, so it will be somewhat slow-paced and won't have that much fight scenes until the later arcs. It focuses more on Yun Che's relationships, internal struggle, kingdom building, and politics. If you're into that, then you're in for a ride. The release rate is 3 chapters a week, unless something happens IRL and I can't write.

Chu Yuechan, Yun Wuxin

The world returned to normal as soon as the battle ended.

Blue Pole Star was still intact, devoid of any type of damage after being subjected to such powers.

The most likely explanation for why that is is probably because of the barrier shrouding the entire ocean.

Not a single speck of power leaked outside. Even the ocean where they were standing was also miraculously intact.

The whole entire thing was like the wildest dream one might had. If it's not for his injuries, Yun Che would surely think it was all just a weird dream.

He scanned the area for any sign of the three divine beings, but he found nothing.

The ocean was still, as aquatic creatures merrily swam in the ocean as if nothing had ever happened.

Yun Che was flabbergasted to see this sight. He could understand why the powers had not leaked outside, but he had no clue why the ocean and its inhabitants were also completely fine.

It was, for the lack of better word, absurd. His head hurts trying to make sense of things, so he decided to do it later.

A swarm of something was approaching in the distance. Yun Che was quickly alerted and prepared to flee at a moment's notice.

He had no chance of survival encountering another being of that caliber.

But after feeling the aura and lifeforce of those approaching, Yun Che sighed a relief.

What approached him was the Supreme Ocean Palace people. There were a few dozen people, and he was familiar with some of them.

He had detected the aura and lifeforce of the Palace Leader, Seven Venerable Ones, Elders, and also Xia Yuanba as well, for some reason.

Yun Che squinted his eyes when he detected Xia Yuanba.

Xia Yuanba's lifeforce was brimming with energy, and he didn't seem injured. He scanned the rest of the group and found out that aside from a few injured elders, everyone was fine.

"Brother-in-law!"

Yun Che heard Xia Yuanba's familiar voice calling him excitedly as he gets closer. It was a voice that he hadn't heard in forever.

"Yuanba! What are you doing here?"

After giving Yun Che a bear hug, Xia Yuanba replied with a trembling voice.

"I was here to discuss some business with the Palace Leader when the mysterious figure showed up. It was hell, brother-in-law."

Just remembering the events that had transpired soured his excitement of meeting Yun Che again after a long time. His hands were shivering in fear.

Xia Yuanba recounted what happened to Yun Che. It aligned with Ji Qianrou's story.

Apparently, the hooded figure was going straight for the Supreme Ocean Palace main sect after wreaking havoc on Ji Qianrou's group.

The hooded figure killed a few elders with that same black light, and casted a barrier on the main sect.

They couldn't see, hear, or feel what was happening outside. They also couldn't escape the barrier. Anyone tried to do so suffered the same horrible fate.

"Spiritual Master Yun! It is fortunate that you are here. Have you defeated the hooded figure?"

The Supreme Ocean Palace people arrived and scanned the surrounding. There were no trace of the hooded figure or his powers.

What they could see, however, was Yun Che's badly damaged body. His body was in a mess, and it seems like he had just gotten through a vicious battle.

They were ecstatic upon learning that Yun Che had repelled the menace, but also grew admiring and feared Yun Che's might.

Yun Che didn't correct their misunderstanding and just let them be.

Yun Che then asked the Palace Leader and a few of the Venerable Ones, but they recounted the same story as Xia Yuanba.

"Do any of you have any idea who that is?"

Xia Yuanba and everyone else shook their heads. No one knows anything about the hooded figure and where they came from.

They didn't even know why they attacked the sect.

"Anything else? Think about anything that could be a clue to who that is."

After Yun Che said that, the crowd got silent and trying their best to remember the entire thing.

A while later, everyone seemed to remember something. Xia Yuanba's expression also changed dramatically after recalling the event and practically shook Yun Che's body in excitement.

"Chu Yuechan! Brother-in-law, I saw Chu Yuechan!"

"Yuechan? What do you mean?! Speak clearly!"

"I saw Chue Yuechan and a little girl following the hooded figure to the Supreme Ocean Palace. I tried talking to her, but she didn't seem to recognize me. No, they didn't seem conscious, as if they were under some sort of bewitchment."

Shit. So it's really her. I hope that hooded figure didn't do anything to her and Wuxin.

"What happened to them? Where are they now?"

Yun Che's voice was filled with worry. He couldn't think of anything good happening to them.

The hooded figure was so ruthless and unbelievably strong, after all. He couldn't wrap his head around why they wanted Yuechan and Wuxin, but whatever it is, it most definitely wasn't anything pleasant.

"I don't know. The hooded figure just killed some elders and casted that barrier before they left. Chue Yuechan and the girl left with the hooded figure, I don't know what happened after that."

Why? What is so interesting about Chu Yuechan and Yun Wuxin? What do they have that could possibly entice a being such as that targeting them?

Yun Che dismissed everyone after ordering them to clean up the rest.

They took everyone injured and heal them, while he has Xia Yuanba rally the Four Sacred Grounds to patrol the entire Profound Sky Continent for any sign of the hooded figure.

He also contacted his parents and have the Royal Family and all Guardian Family scoured the Illusory Demon Realm for the hooded figure's clues.

"Are you sure you're alright, son?"

Mu Yurou asked after hearing all the commotion. She knew that her son was practically a god in Blue Pole Star, but she couldn't help but worry after hearing his adversary's strength.

"I'm alright, mother. Please be at ease. I still have matters to attend to, so I will be going. I will visit the family whenever this ends."

Mu Yurou had calmed down somewhat after being reassured by his precious son.

Yun Che was silently meditating all this whole time. The power that still lingered in his body was strange.

He hadn't healed much, only making tiny recovery with his Great Way of the Buddha casted non-stop.

There was a black light barrier that had yet to dissapear. It was steadily losing power, however. It would only take a few days until it faded on its own.

The black light barrier was shrouding the Moon Slaughter Devil Nest.

Yun Che was meditating alone in front of the nest, casting his Great Way of the Buddha as a golden pagoda hovered above him.

He had made the area restricted and prohibited anyone from entering. He also told Jasmine and Mu Xuanyin to go back to God Realm to avoid suspicion.

With the Star God Realm's help, Jasmine and Mu Xuanyin easily avoided the suspicion of the God Realm.

Yun Che had healed and regenerated Mu Xuanyin and Jasmine's lost blood essences with what little power he had, so that no one noticed anything.

Yun Che sat silently on the ocean, focusing on recovering with his Great Way of the Buddha. He had initially recovered enough strength to heal himself, but he had used it all to heal Jasmine and Mu Xuanyin first.

After meditating for a few days, he regained enough strength to heal himself.

Just as he was going to do so, the black light barrier finally started to fade. It revealed the Moon Slaughter Devil Nest inside, but nothing seemed out of place.

The place still felt eerie just like before. He was used to darkness profound energy now, and it no longer affected him unlike the last time he was here.

Yun Che entered the nest with heightened senses. He wasn't so foolish as to drop his guard. There had to be a reason why this place was shrouded in the black light barrier for so long.

Yun Che traced his steps to what he remembered, navigating through the nest slowly and steadily.

The nest was still the same as he remembered, nothing was amiss. Even so, he didn't drop his guard and continued forward.

After walking for a few minutes, he had come to the place where he used to pluck the Netherworld Udumbara Flower for Jasmine back then.

It was a familiar place, but the sight that greeted his eyes was anything but. He was shocked to see what was in front of his eyes.

There were a huge circle and three smaller circles with intricate and complicated patterns on the ground. Letters, symbols, and drawings of unknown origin was carved on the ground with something sharp.

On either side of the circles was something shaped like a star, with candles lit on each of its points.

There were two basins full of dark, gooey liquid inside of the stars. The whole place was filled with nauseating smell. The disgusting perfume stemmed from the basins of liquid.

There were eleven heads of animals lined together to form some sort of a pattern. They weren't profound beasts, but just normal, harmless animals.

There were two human heads that marked the beginning and end of the strange pattern. They were the heads of the Supreme Ocean elders.

The pattern resembled a snake or something similar, coiling around its body and loop around, biting its own tail.

In the middle of the largest circle was a slab of pitch black stone. On its side were glowing symbols and letters that he couldn't comprehend.

It was obviously a ritual site of some sort, and if he had to guess, it had to be that hooded figure's doing.

The ritual site was eerie and ominous, sure, but that wasn't what shocked him most. He was shocked to see what was on the slab of stone.

It was Chu Yuechan and Yun Wuxin. They were lying there with their eyes closed.

"Yuechan! Wuxin!"

Yun Che dragged his broken body towards Chue Yuechan and Yun Wuxin.

Their bodies were in ruin. There didn't seem to be any injuries on their bodies, but their lifeforce was alarmingly weak.

Their breaths were faint, and their hearts could stop beating any moment.

Without caring for his own broken body, Yun Che cast the light profound energy to heal them. They were slowly getting better, but their condition was still dire.

Yun Che squeezed what little profound energy he had left in his body to imbue the light profound energy with the Divine Miracle of Life's powers.

The profound art was truly worthy of being the greatest healing art in the universe. In no time at all, it started to rekindle Chu Yuechan and Yun Wuxin's lifeforce.

Color returned to their pale complexion, and their hearts were beating normally.

After making sure that both of them weren't in critical condition anymore, Yun Che stopped his casting and lay on the ground, panting.

The lingering remnant of the battle's aura had sapped him of all his powers. He only recovered a little bit by casting his Great Way of the Buddha non-stop for the last few days.

He was well and truly exhausted this time. Not a single speck of profound energy was present in his profound veins right now.

If he was any other profound practitioner, he would already be critically injured himself.

But he didn't care. Saving Chu Yuechan and Yun Wuxin comes first.

Yun Che got closer to them and touched their hands. They were warm now. He looked at them and smiled, before collapsing in front of them.
