This matter is probably the closest part to Western capitalism within domestic firefighting. Research and development of equipment relies almost entirely on corporations, imports, related departments, and there is almost no output whatsoever.
At present, among the domestically-based firefighting enterprises, the more prominent China Fire Enterprise Group is a joint venture, while the second-ranked Gulf Safety Technology Company is a foreign-funded company.
Joint ventures and foreign-funded enterprises are not bad, but the fact that all the giant companies in firefighting have foreign capital backgrounds fully illustrates that domestic research on firefighting technology is still in a completely backward stage and urgently requires active investment.
The almost purely theoretical stage of scientific research within domestic firefighting departments is so obvious a gap that it cannot be unseen; the key issue, I estimate, is still money.
