Chapter 7: Tasks

A few moments later Nie comes back into his room in fresh clothes. "That was good" he says while he notices the token laying on the table "Oh right, I should check out what kind of task I have" He picks up the token and the information flows into his head.

Weekly Task: Herbs Collecting

Collect 100 grams of the Gray Eye Herb and 100 grams of the Wolf Nose Herb.

Gray Eye Herb: It's a herb that is Gray and on its leaves there are marks that look like eyes. It's liked by spider beasts because it sends out a fragrance that will lower your ability to see by 30%, because of that they often plant it near their home.

Wolf Heart Herb: It's a herb that is mostly found in the core area of where wolf beasts live because of its special ability of strengthening your sense of smell.

"Interesting, this task will not be difficult at all" he says sarcastically and continues to read.

Trial of Fire.

Task 1: calm down a beast and tame it. This beast must be stronger than you by two times.

Task 2: Battle For honor. Fight against a young generation member of the Xióng and Ying Clan and win.

Task 3: Achieve a Mastery level of one weapon in a time frame 6 months after choosing it.

Nie's face turns paler with every word he reads "Hell! What kind of tasks are these, I may have reached some level of cultivation but these tests are still difficult! I mean… look at them! I need to tame a beast that has double of my strength, beat one member of the young generation of the other two clans and reach a Mastery level of the weapon that I chose in a time frame of 6 months"

Nie sighs and lets himself fall down unto his bed while the light ball comes out of his body again.

"And I thought that you wanted to steel your mind young one, and now you give up in front of these easy tasks? Did I maybe choose wrongly to save you?" says Azur. Nie looks at the light ball for a good amount of time without doing anything. "You're right. Senior Azur let's do this, I will show you that you weren't wrong" Nie stands up and tightens his kimono while taking his token with him. //First thing I should do is getting a weapon, it will make the weekly and first task easier and it's the start of my third task too, so three birds with one stone//.

Nie passes through the floors, while doing that he hears a discussion and can't stop himself from listening.

"Damn it happened again, someone stole stuff on our clan market. Has anyone a clue on who it was?" Says one "No but I bet it was one of the Ying Clan, they usually use such kind of methods to deal with us" Says another one with a confident expression "Yeah, it must be one of those damn raven, let's go and take revenge on them, it's because of them that we need to suffer so much under our Clan Elders" says another one with some bandages around his whole body.

Shortly after they begin to move and some notice Nie standing there. They look towards him with a cold face and few of them "accidently" walk against him making him fall on the ground *Grumbles* //These damn descendants, even in the group bathroom I was mocked by them, they just can't leave me alone// he waits until everyone leaves, then he stands up again and continues to walk out of the dormitory and then towards the Weapon Pavilion.

The weapon Pavilion is an old building, but still gives off a grand aura of Domination. The pavilion it's made of Obsidian and has some veins on its side, at the entrance there are some pillars that have moons with different wolves on them. The more the moon is filled the wiser the wolves seems, while the darker the moon is and the more demoniac the wolf looks.

//Interesting, but I shouldn't let my thoughts get distracted by that, I need to get a weapon// Nie walks in and begins to search the area where he can get a free weapon. He quickly finds it and then orders himself into the queue.

A while later it's finally Nie's turn and he gets greeted by a familiar face, Elder Jian "Oh, the young Nie, so you made it�� he says with a smile "Yes Elder Jian, I made it" Nie says with a smile while he wraps his hand and performs a small bow. "Elder Jian, I'm here to get a weapon, can you help me in finding one suitable for me?" The old man nods "Sure I can, what kind of weapon do you prefer Nie? A long weapon or a short weapon, heavy or light, sharp or dull?" he asks Nie slowly.

"Mhm, I think I'd prefer a long weapon that gives me some feeling of safety while it's light and it should be dull so I can take it with me whenever I go" "Oh Oh Oh" Elder Jian says while disappearing behind a door for a few minutes and then coming out again with a 80 cm long object curled up in black veil. "This young one is the cub wolf staff, a staff weapon, I think this should suit you the most" he then reveals the staff.

It's made with a strange type of wood that seems incredibly durable but smooth and light at the same time. The color of the wood is blackish with some wolf cubs drawings on it.

Nie looks excited at the staff and then at Elder Jian "Thank you Elder Jian, this staff is perfect" he bows to him with a bright smile while at the same time dying at the thought of using it "No problem young Nie, and here's a little manual that will help you in the basic training with your weapon" He extends his hands and gives Nie a small book with the words "Basics of staff arts".

Nie thanks him again and then leaves the Pavilion. //I'm so lucky, I even got a manual for the basics// he's smiling internally while walking towards the training field.

"Hey fatty, stop right there right now and give me the manual in your hands" says a voice suddenly. Nie turns around and recognizes the person, it's Bai Wei //Heck… he can attack me now because I have a cult// "Oh hey Bai Wei… how about a no?" he sneers "How about a beating, fatty?" he moves his hands together and makes these rack noises with his bones. "Just give me this manual, the young master wants it and if I bring him that I'll be rewarded"

"And what has that to do with me? I got this manual from Elder Jian and I will not give it to anybody else!" Nie cries out "You really think you can decide that?" he suddenly sweeps towards him "F***" Nie cries out again and goes into a fighting posture but he was too slow and the same scene as yesterday repeats itself and he flies a few meters.

"Fatty you're too weak, just hand over the manual" he says while coming closer. Nie looks at him while feeling the aftermath of the attack "…No.. I won't give it to you" He begins to stand up and look backwards, behind him there's the forest and when he saw how close it was and how much distance there was between him and Bai he decided to run. "NEVER" he shouts while running into the forest at the same time feeling the aftermath pain of the hit received.

Seeing that Bai sneers "You want to play cat and mouse, fine you can have it" he waits for a moment until he vanishes behind the trees and then begins to run after him.

As Nie runs deeper into the forest "Damn, I never thought I would experience something like this" "Did you think you would be safe all the times young one? The martial world is full of dangers and viciouses beings" says Azur to him "This kid is quite strong, only a single first already caused quite a damage towards you, lucky you have so much fat that without it the damage would be even worse" he continues to say "I don't know if this is a compliment or not, but I think I should concern myself now more on how I can hide from him"

After a while Nie hears sounds from behind and he knows that now Bai isn't far away anymore //Fast, I need to find a safe place// As he runs he stumbles over a root of an old tree "AAAAAAAHH!" he falls down and begins to roll over the ground.

"HAHAHAAH, so funny! Did you want to show me a small comedy act before I take the manual from you?" Bai says while laughing. Nie moves a bit up and looks towards him "Why… why do you want my manual, why do you hunt me down, can't you just leave me alone?" he says while breathing heavily "Why should I not? You offended me and now my young master wants the manual that you got, so let me take it and end your suffering" as the last words were pronounced Nie remembers the last moments in his old world "No….. NO!!" Nie collects himself and stands up with much effort.

He looks into Bai's eyes "AAAAAAAAH!" He shouts out and jumps towards him with his new weapon in bot his hand and holding it like he wants to thrust it into him.

He just sneers at it and pulls out a small saber "I think I'll have a little more of fun with you" he smiles and moves his saber so that the blade of it would hit the side of Nie's staff.

Nie's eyes are bloodshot as if he were in a trance. He doesn't stop and continues to move towards Bai. A short moment later their weapon clashed and as expected Nie flew again but his staff stays in a perfect condition.

"Huh… Interesting. I think I'll take your stuff after I'm finished with you" Bai slowly moves towards him. Nie's mind begins to become stable again. //S*** I'm only two days in this world and I'm already dying again. I think I should use the life saving method// //No you don't young one, you still can rescue yourself// he hears in his mind from Azur. He sighs and begins to sit up "Bai… Wei…" he looks towards him.

"Are you pleading for mercy now? Bad for you is that I don't show mercy" he says in a mocking tone and extends his arm towards Nie.

"NEITHER DO I" says a cold voice that fills the surrounding. A figure suddenly appears in between the trees and walks towards Nie "G….G….Go away! This is my prey and I'm Bai Wei and my master is the son of one of the Clan Elders, you don't want to offend him" he says in a frighten voice.

The figure doesn't stops and moves in front of Nie "And does it give you the position to fu***** offend me?!? You little worm; and does it give you the position to offend my subordinate too? I don't think so" The cold voice says.

Bai Wei looks at him, at the black robe and at the silver hair that comes out from the hood "Who… Who are you?" the person moves his hands and puts his hood down and reveals a pale face and in a calm voice that gives the chills to Bai Wei "I'm your death, I'm the owner of the Demon Mountain, Menti and now run for your life before I change my mind you little piece of shit!" he says in a cold voice and Bai Wei runs away.

Menti turns around and looks at Nie "Now stand up, we have a lot to do, or don't you want to work with me, your sect master" he says with a mocking smile.

Nie smiles too "How would I dare Sect Master Menti" he stands up slowly and begins to laugh "So it is you" "Who could it be other than me? Only the real me could be so cool and powerful".
