Fighting a Seraph

As if sensing the surge of power emanating from Damien's location, more and more angels began descending from the sky like a torrential rain. But Damien remained steadfast, welcoming them with a ferocious grin. He thirsted for blood and sought the annihilation of all the angels.

"I shall slay you and purge the malevolence that dwells within you," the seraph spoke calmly this time, conjuring multiple orbs of light magic and hurling them towards Damien, who stood unyielding in his Clad-armour. However, the magic orbs struck Damien without leaving a trace.

"Hmph, it seems you didn't perish from that alone," the seraph snarled, eyeing Damien's unflinching stance. Then, with swiftness surpassing light, he launched himself in a blitz towards Damien, wielding a sword forged entirely from light.

{Activating skill: Light Sword of Judgment - creates a sword of light magic, capable of effortlessly slicing through steel.}

The ambient energy coalesced, manifesting into a blade crafted from the very essence of light magic. As a seraph, he possessed adeptness in manipulating light magic and forged a sword entirely from its power.

He prepared himself, activating Monarch's Domain, which augmented his attributes and empowered his armies, enabling him to confront the endless horde of angels surrounding him. Realistically speaking, Damien knew he wasn't formidable enough to face a Seraph on equal footing, one capable of rivalling an Awakened Demon Lord. However, he refused to surrender. He was the Shadow Monarch now, and he would not let his army down.

[Notice: Activating Monarch's Domain - Monarch's Domain enhances the stats (including strength and speed) of all Shadows by 50%.]

The strength of the shadow soldiers grew as they decimated more of the infinite angelic forces, leaving the Seraph to their sovereign. They possessed unwavering faith that their Liege would emerge victorious in the battle.

Khalf paused for a moment, feeling his powers surge, and gazed at his Liege's battle. "Good luck, my Liege," he uttered before obliterating the angels as if there was no tomorrow, a foolish grin adorning his face. "Annihilate the Pigeons before our Lord concludes his duel!" With a mighty roar, he commanded the Shadow army to toil with even greater intensity, now strengthened by their Liege's activation of Monarch's Domain.

The seraph arrived in front of Damien with the Light Sword poised in his hand, aiming directly for Damien's neck, intending to end the battle with a single strike. But oh boy, he made a grave mistake. "Perish, you foul creature," Damien observed the sword homing in on his neck, the scene unfolding in slow motion as he witnessed the blade inching closer to sever his head from his body. However, before it could make contact, Damien swiftly swapped places with a shadow soldier.

"What-?" The Seraph's surprise was evident as he beheld the Black Monster, which he had split in half, rapidly regenerating. But his astonishment was short-lived as he sensed Death drawing near from behind. Sweat trickled down his neck, feeling as if the Grim Reaper himself held a scythe against his throat. Without wasting a moment, he activated his Light magic and teleported away from his previous position.

Appearing in mid-air, his wings radiating a luminous glow, he gazed back at his former spot. Once again, he was taken aback to find the same humanoid being standing there, the very one he had intended to strike down. In the next instant, it seemed as though the being had teleported or rather, swapped places with his soldier. But how?

"Hoh, so you can flee swiftly, can you?" Damien's voice dripped with sarcasm as he observed the Seraph's bewildered expression. Unbeknownst to the Seraph, Damien had discreetly tethered a Shadow Goblin to his shadow before the battle even commenced, setting up a surprise attack. However, Damien had underestimated the Seraph's speed, as when the Seraph empowered his wings with magic, he surpassed Damien's expectations, moving at a speed that Damien could barely track.

"You may possess the ability to teleport, but it matters not. You shall perish by my hands... human," the Seraph spoke, his demeanour indifferent. While the human intrigued him to some extent, it did not mean he would yield to him.

This time, Damien sprang into action. He lowered his body and launched himself towards the airborne Seraph, who regarded him from above with a contemptuous gaze. With his great sword poised to cleave the Seraph in half, Damien made his move. Yet, the Seraph easily evaded the strike by sidestepping, only to be caught off guard as an invisible force pulled him towards Damien's mana-infused sword.

[Activating skill: Ruler's Authority - Telekinesis ability that allows the wielder to manipulate objects or enemies without physical contact.]

Utilizing the power of Ruler's Authority, Damien drew the Seraph closer and delivered a forceful punch to his face, his fist clad in resilient armor. The armor proved formidable, but upon contact with Damien's fist, the Seraph was sent hurtling towards the ground at a velocity surpassing that of light.

—Boom

The impact with the ground created a deep, colossal crater. Both combatants came to a halt, their attention fixed on the Seraph, now impaled in the earth. However, he showed no signs of injury, his visage contorted in fury.

"How dare a mortal lay hands on me..." he growled, his anger palpable as he seethed. How dare a human, a mere mortal...

The Seraph had finally reached his limit. He gazed at the sky, performing intricate hand signs, and a colossal sword materialized in the air, composed entirely of luminous mana. It was so immense and radiant that its presence could be witnessed across the entire world. The sword possessed a yellow hue, adorned with crimson runes that glimmered with an overwhelming power, capable of obliterating anything that dared to oppose it. For a brief moment, everyone paused, fixated on the majestic sword suspended in the air. It was simultaneously captivating and perilous, as if the fate of the world hung in the balance.

"Try surviving THIS!" The Seraph bellowed, hurtling the sword towards Damien.

—————-

"Oh my, the Seraph has unleashed such formidable power. Who could have forced him to utilize such strength? Hmmm, a Demon Lord, perhaps? But besides us, there is no one around. Interesting," Guy Crimson contemplated as he pulverized a Seraph, reducing him to a pulp.

—————

Back to the battle.

Damien's heart skipped a beat as he beheld the colossal sword looming above him and his army. He wouldn't deny it—he was frightened. He had never witnessed such a tremendous display of power at this level, even after his partial awakening as the Shadow Monarch, which granted him the strength to contend with a Seraph. However, this situation seemed to surpass his capabilities. Still, he refused to surrender.

"Sys, what are the odds of me prevailing against that entity?"

[Notice: 95% chance of defeat and 5% chance of victory.

DANGER DETECTED. SYS ADVISES HOST TO RETREAT.]

A look of astonishment adorned Damien's face as he contemplated his mere 5% chance of victory. It was simply absurd.

"Human... you shall pay the price for opposing me... Die!!!!!"the Seraph declared.
