Chapter 27

"Is everything really okay?" Alex couldn't help but ask. After his talk with Chad, Keith came back with a troubled face though he said everything is fine. Alex did not pry as he thought it might be because of business. They are currently now at the parking of his apartment building and the Alpha has that look again.

"It's nothing, don't worry too much." Keith replied while kissing Alex's hands that he has been holding since they arrived. "I just don't want you to go."

Alex understands what Keith was saying, he too is reluctant to leave, which scares the hell out of him. It wasn't long ago that he was scared of meeting the Alpha and now after only meeting and being together for less than a day, he suddenly doesn't want to part with the Alpha. Maybe it's the bond talking or maybe it's the way the Alpha treats him. He thought he would be forceful and yet he was gentle. He thought the Alpha would impose on him and yet he said to take things slow when he realized I'm still anxious about all of this.

"I really have to go." Alex said almost whispering. It's almost time for him to do his daily call to his parents. Also, his brother is coming back today. Knowing Matt, he's probably gonna head straight to his place to check on him. His brother would definitely scold him for not coming back home in over a month.

"Should I come with you?" Keith offered, still not letting go of Alex's hands. "I promise I'll just take you to your door and then leave." He said after he saw the Omega contemplating what he said. He knows Alex is reluctant because his brother is coming back and he doesn't want Keith to meet him yet. Honestly, he would prefer to talk it out with the Omega's brother himself.

Alex knew his brother would not be happy to see Keith and he would definitely flip out if he found out they are bonded already. Matt will not like the idea that they bonded accidentally. Alex wanted to talk to his brother first before he went and introduced Keith to him. If Keith sends him off until his doorstep, he might run into his brother. Then again, he hasn't received any call from Matt. If his brother is already at his apartment and he didn't find him there he would definitely call and ask where he is. Maybe, it's still okay since they cut their dinner short. Dinner? "Oh my God." Alex gasped after realizing something.

"Hey what's wrong? Are you okay? Do you need to throw up again? Should we go to the hospital?" Keith asked worriedly.

"I'm okay, but Keith you haven't eaten yet." Alex replied. Keith sent back the food they ordered after he threw up and the Alpha didn't ask for food again. He only asked Chad to make porridge for him.

"It's alright. I'll eat later." Keith replied kissing Alex's hands again, he's elated that his Omega is worried about him. He doesn't know how many times he had kissed Alex's hands now and he already can feel his body reacting to the Omega's body heat that he can sense from his hands. He should really get the Omega back to his apartment before the last thread of his control snaps. He wanted to take him right here right now but he has to hold himself. Alex needs time and he shouldn't be rushed. If he wants the Omega not to run away from him, he should step back and take things slow.

"Th... thanks for today." Dan said shyly. He was surprised to wake up at the company's infirmary and even more surprised to find the Alpha on his bedside. He doesn't know how the Alpha found him, the last thing he remembered was his body reacting to the pheromones Dwight, ther boss was emitting after Alex left. It was too much for him that he must have collapsed and lost consciousness afterwards.

"It's fine." Martin replied nonchalantly.

Dan doesn't know if he should leave now or stay in the car. The Alpha volunteered to take him home and since there's no parking space in his building, they are in the Alpha's car a block away from his apartment. Due to the lack of things to do, he decided to look for his phone to see if he had any messages. Alex called him multiple times, his friend also sent a lot of text messages. His fellow Omega must be worried about him since he said he would check on Alex afterwards. He quickly sent his friend a text message to tell him he would call him back later.

"I... I should go." Dan said after a while, breaking the silence inside the car.

"You want me to walk you to your building?" Martin offered, he's worried that the Omega is still too weak to walk by himself.

"It's alright Mr. Martin, you've done so much for me already." Dan replied, he reached for the car door to leave immediately. He felt a heaviness in his heart as he walked away from the Alpha.

Dan was so preoccupied that he didn't notice the man waiting in front of his building.

Martin knocked his head off on the steering wheel in frustration. He doesn't know why he's so worried about the Omega. He even ditched his work just to take the Omega home. He got so worried when he saw Dan's unconscious body being carried by his superiors. He should have just volunteered to carry him to the infirmary and not take care of him completely. He even offered to walk him home for Pete's sake.

He should get a drink and clear his mind. He was about to drive off when he heard a whizzing sound. He searched for it and found the Omega's phone on the seat he just vacated.

"I'm just giving back his phone. Everyone needs their phone with them so I should return it to him immediately." Martin said to himself as he walk to Dan's apartment building. He noticed it the first time he came here, the Omega's apartment is not in a good neighborhood which is why nobody cared when those guys tried to kidnap him before. Martin walked faster when he remembered about the kidnapping, he's suddenly worried about Dan again.

The Alpha's worry seems to be warranted as he found Dan being dragged in the arms by the man he saw last time.

"Let me go Eric please." Dan pleaded, he's too weak to resist the Alpha. He looks around for help, but like usual no one cares.

"You need to come with me. You owe me this." Eric replied angrily. The man he owed money is pestering him. He could ask his parents for money but he cannot let them know he fucked up. Besides, he has Dan to settle his debt.

"I believe he said to let him go."

"Mr. Martin." Dan cried, relief written all over his face.

"Stay out of it. This is between me and my Omega." Eric replied angrily. He seems to be too high to remember Martin.

"Eric we broke up already. Let me go." Dan pleaded.

Eric didn't know what happened in a blink of an eye, he found himself face to face with the concrete floor, his arms behind his back. "Argh. Let me go bastard." Martin responded by pushing him more to the ground and pressing hard on his arms. "It hurts." Eric screamed.

"I will let you go just this once. Don't come near him again." Martin said he wanted to break the other Alpha's bones but he saw Dan's trembling body.

"I won't! I won't!" Eric cried and as soon as Martin released his grasp he ran as fast as he could, stumbling and falling a few times before he was out of sight.

"Are you okay?" Martin asked.

"I.. should be fine. Th... thanks again." Dan replied, hugging himself as he tried to stop his body from trembling.

"Do you have anywhere you can stay for a while?" He asked. He's afraid that asshole might come back again. He can offer to take Dan back to his place but he's not sure if the Omega would like that.

"I can.. stay with my friend."

"Okay, pack some clothes. I'll take you there." Martin replied, relieved but at the same time disappointed.
