Chapter 9- A new subordinate

It was a sunny day. The clouds were blue the air was warm, the birds were singing.

Ahh it was just a perfect day. But Alas! for one girl it was not.

We can see a girl who looked like 15 years old. On this warm and sunny just perfect day walking back to her house with a depressed look.

Her shoes were undone and her clothes looked stained with a yellowish mark.

Her hair also had sticky glue and her uniform has marks of fight.

Overall the girl looked quite pitiful enough to be mistaken as beggar.

The girl seems to be going towards an alley. She soon arrives at what looks it was once a building but now it looks worse than a animal pen.

it was two story house with broken windows and rusted walls. Some walls had even big holes and the rooftop seemed like it would fall anytime soon.

Overall it seemed like a place where only criminals and fugitives would choose to hide. The girl went inside the house and a blurry figure came and hugged her.

The figure that hugged the girl looked a lot same as the girl.

Unknown: "Sister You're back! I was worried why it was taking you so long but now it seems You're okay. But what are these torns and stains on your clothes sister?"

Another person That also looked the same as the girls peeked her head out of one of the rooms.

Unknown 2: "Anikta You're back dear. Ah it seems you had some accidents on your way back. Lisa you should let your big sister get some rest after all she seems like She's tired."

The woman spoke with a gentle ans motherly tone. The girl named Lisa then perked up her ears and listened to her mothers advice.

Lisa: "Alright mom i Won't disturb big sister from getting rest. But sister You're really fine right?"

Anikta: "Yes i am Lisa you Don't have to worry. You should go play or do your homework."

After saying that the girl called Anikta Watched as her little sister goes off to her own room.

Anikta then gave her mom a thankful nod and left for her own room.

Anikta's Pov...

It truly wasn't a good day today. The manager at work tried to harass me and when i tried complaining he threatened to fire me. I can't be fired from my only job that i got after so much hardships.

I just have to keep it in and focus my vision on the future. It's all for my family after all.

Anikta was a girl that was born in a happy and relatively well off family.

But This all changed when her father died. Soon people that claim to have given money to his father arrived and claiming that they have not been paid.

But their family knew that they were well off and they never took any debts but sadly their father signed up for an insurance program which went bankrupt and since her father was one of the persons who invested in the bank the most they came to get him.

Anikta knew that these people wouldn't let them live peacefully thus they decided to sell their vacation house, car and a few other apartments they had.

With that they were able to pay off their debts but sadly they Didn't have any money left after all that.

Because of that and a few other misfortunes along the way made their status what it is today.

Anikta was a very intelligent girl with a bright future in Management abd leading others. Her dream was to apply for a managers post in a company or a bank but it was all destroyed because of this tragedy.

Now she has to work as a factory worker with a pay just to keep her family alive.

Her mother Couldn't go to work because she can't stress her body too much also cause she had a weak body After the birth of her little sister.

She has tried her best to keep her family from falling apart and today she increased her conviction of just that.

She went to work the next day and when while home through her usual route she found someone she wasn't expecting to meet.

Anikta: "What're you doing here Leon. Though i suppose starting with that as a greeting would be rude so i apologize in advance".

Leon: " You know you still have that noble and charismatic aura that still makes anyone look twice at you".

Anikta: "Flattery Won't get you anywhere Leon at least not with me and no i went through a lot of stuff which I'm pretty sure you also heard about so excuse me but my family is waiting for me thus i need to leave soon".

Leon: " I know the things that happened to you and i also know that i also ignored your situation as did our friends. As funny as it may sounds i learned a few weeks ago how valuable it is to have good friends. But I'm not here to preach you on that I'm here to show you a pore glorious and greater path a path filled with endless glory should you choose to follow it it will solve all your and your family's problem and even fix your mother. So are you willing to follow it?"

Anikta: "Very big words I'd say but I've met and talked with a lot of people to know their intentions and if they're lying or not since I'm not getting any of that fron you I'll choose to believe Your words".

Anikta's Pov End..

We can see a young man trying to write things on a object that looked like a ball and what's strange is that the words he writes are not in any language in the world. Other than that the words themselves look very ethereal.

He finally finished writing after a few minutes and he then touched the object with his hand and suddenly the object lit up like bulb and started floating near him. He then pointed his finger at a wooden structure near him and the object turned in the direction towards where the finger of the man was pointing at. The object fired what looked like a laser beam made of fire towards the wooden structure and it immediately turned it ash and burnt wood.

The figure who seemed to command the object was shaking but not in fear but in excitement and then he commanded the ball in his hand and it immediately shrunk to the size of a small marble ball. The object then disappeared.

The figure who looked very excited was none other than Nova.

Ever since Nova got Runic Knowledge spell he found out that the possibilities and application of this thing is boundless. He could create objects that had certain functions he could virtually almost create anything with this spell. Obviously he first needs to have the required materials and deeper knowledge of runes to do so.

3 days of tinkering with this spell Nova found out that runic knowledge is just like coding albeit a lot different. But the general concept is the same.

He just needs have the correct knowledge and he could use it to make different functions in any objects possible or create a new object itself.

For example he could make a flying wooden board just by giving it the rune of flight, levitation and mana absorbtion and mana projection.

When found out how easy it was al though the runes have to be small, Precise and completely without any imperfections. Basically he will have to write these things like a computer does and then imbue mana inside it.

With this spell endless possibilities were infront of him. He could turn a wooden stick into the sharpest sword. He could make a small stone have weight and power of artillery shell and he could also make drones and robots out of any materials by using an empty mana core and just by adding a few hundred runes.

Of course its not all easy you have to find to seamlessly connect all the runes you add. There's even a risk of the object exploding and Nova experienced it as well albeit a minor one. One also needs to clearly picture and know the functions they want to have when using runes. Thanks to this Nova's intelligence has gone very high even though he Didn't gain any new levels after he last levelled up.

Other than going to his exams Nova was so excited and immersed in his New found abilities that he Didn't even contact Leon for the whole week.

Leon had to come to him and also he Leon was very surprised and when he learned that Nova's mom and sister were also afraid when they saw Nova working with unknown symbols.

Nova was so immersed that he drew the symbols almost everywhere in his rooms in order to find inspiration.

Leon had to ensure his family that he was only cracking a code for a game which surprisingly convinced them.

Leon then told Nova of the new boons he got after Nova levelled up.

Leon was doing the suspense move on me. After he started coming to my house to 'Play' and assure my mom and little sister that i wasn't doing a satanic rituals. He also Didn't tell me the new stuff he got after i levelled up since he is my subordinate he should've also gotten some good stuff.

Leon: "Okay bro so the first new things are that i got access to more and higher classed resources and magical skills from the system store. I even bought some charms and talismans. Which oddly looked very close to what we see in animes. Other than that the biggest noteworthy change is now like you i can also create my own subordinates".

After Leon said that i was momentarily stunned and stopped thinking about runes and though about the implications behind that.

Nova: " Damn for like real. This is actually a pretty generous reward from the system. If you can also make your own faction and have subordinates then we can also grow our selves way faster. So how does it work?"

Leon: "Pretty much the same as yours. They get things a few level lower than i do and also they are absolutely loyal only to me and what they get i also get a small percent of exp and gold."

Nova: "This discovery is gold. This means i can focus more on rune development and It's endless possibilities and you can recruit more people to our faction i guess this doubles the efficiency and my future ambitions".

Leon: " Don't mind me asking but like what are your future ambitions. Because from what i can see using our abilities we can easily live a noble and worry free life".

Nova: "Although we can but i Don't want to. I want to create our own empire our own domain in this world. A place where we and our people with abilities like us will live a place of power, might and absolute order. I want to make an empire that will conquer this whole world and then when It's done we'll take it to the stars and even when that's done We'll still take it to the next level. You asked my ambitions that's how high my ambitions are".

Leon: " I wont lie i was surprises but i feel with you i think we can achieve that and more and to that cause I'm willing to follow you my friend my lord and my absolute master to wherever you go".

I saw Leon doing a bow like how a knight would do although it was a bit cringe it did make the moment.

Nova: "well that's all good but for now I'm busy figuring out the mysteries of runes and You're also not the most leader type around so i think It's time we find someone that can fullfil that role and do much more. Someone with high charisma and someone who never gives up and finally who's fully loyal".

Leon: "i think i know someone like that and She's everything you described but more also is very intelligent and beautifull as well also the reason I've come to talk to you".

Nova: "So you've already found someone and even managed to convince her"?

Leon: " Yup and i also told her to come to the abandoned playground tomorrow so that we can recruit her".

Nova: "So you Didn't take her as your own subordinate"?

Leon: " It'd be a waste plus i also showed her the things our abilities and told her the way will take her as our own. Now i know you told me to not to say these things to just anyone but She's a smart woman and very cunning as well if we Don't catch her Interest then even if we show her our powers she would consider us freaks".

Nova: "Although i was worried that you did something ver foolish i guess you learned a lot of stuff now lets go and get our new subordinate onboard".

After that Nova and Leon arrived at the playground and they soon found Anikta. The formalities between her and Nova was done quickly and after receiving a passionate speech about Nova's ambition and with the insurance of the safety her family she agreed and joined them.

Nova finally got a new and a subordinate that in the future will be revered and feared by many. Nova Didn't yet know the impact he caused and the future that is becoming even more mysterious for him and his subordinates.

Author here. My upload might be a bit slow these days but It's primarily because of some personal problems. other than that I'm pretty happy with the Progress the novel is going. Ngl this only started as a hobby and i literally Don't know a lot about how these novels are properly done but I'm still learning and hoping to improve so all in all i just want you guys to know that even if the uploads are slow I'm not giving up this novel.
