A World Where Humans Don't Exist

Ashley had everything in her grasp. Love, Status and Popularity; she couldn't ask for more. That was until… One night, on her way home from her friend's party, she was caught in a car accident. Her life was turned upside down. She became comatose and was later in a vegetative state. She was in that condition for three years. Her friends who she thought were her pillars of support left her. Her boyfriend left her for her friend. What hurt her the most was that her family was breaking apart primarily because of her. She lost everything overnight. Everyone already anticipated her death and believed that she wouldn't recover. Why wouldn't they? The doctors said she was almost brain-dead. That was what they thought... In fact, Ashley knew everything. She was just trapped inside her own body. After three years of enduring, life gave her a chance. A silver streak that made her hope that everything would be fixed and she could go back to her once-perfect life. Instead, she is sent to another world. Only to come out of a box and serve as a prize for an annual tournament. More confusing was the fact that this world seemed to be a fantasy world were vampires, werewolves and other creatures dwelled. It was a world where humans never existed. ******* WFP #11: Bronze tier Note: This is a slow burn novel. Holed up in her Room.

After Ramier told her that she will study about the 'education' in Altria, Ashley couldn't help but feel restless for some reason she wasn't sure of. She was guessing that the traditions and norms she was afraid of, would be taught to her.

Not that she was overreacting, she was fine with what she was. She didn't need other people to try to change her. She huffed trying to release the heavy feeling in her chest and remembered that she wouldn't do anything the whole day.

She was sure that she won't be going back to the rose garden anytime soon. She knew that she needed to ask permission from Ramier. It was obvious that he didn't want her to go there without his permission.Besides it's already been three days since she last saw him. He must've been busy with his duties.

She spent the whole day holed up in her room. She was afraid to go out. It might become another issue like what she did last time. It wasn't because somebody told her about how she caused another uproar among everyone in the Palace... No. It was because the next day after the Rose Garden incident, the head court lady looked at her with even more abhorrence than before. She realized that no matter what she did the head court lady would hate her even more.

She vowed to not go outside unless Ramier told her so or else the death glare wouldn't be the only thing she'll be receiving but death itself, in the hands of the head court lady.

Besides, if she went outside... Where will she go? The Rose Garden was off limits and other than that place the only places she was familiar with was Ramier's Palace and the Tower... Nevermind.. Recalling that place only made Ashley's expression turn grim.

So the next three days went in a blur inside her room. Ramier never showed himself in those three days. She didn't know if because he was busy or if he was secretly still upset with her. But she rejected the second idea, she knew that he wasn't angry with her anymore, remembering how he even apologised for his overreaction.

The biggest problem was how she spent those three days. Ashley was an outdoors type of person. If indoors, she would often watch a movie or play games on her phone. However, this wasn't her past world, there were no phones nor television here. Nothing...

So she had to make do with the resources in her room which was herself.

The only thing she did all those three days was to eat a lot and exercise. She did those cardio exercises she used to do at the gym. Since she was always eating and doing nothing, she was afraid to get fat so she expended all her energy to exercise. It was also unhealthy to be lying down all day. She needed to put her muscles to use and strengthen her bones. Who knows... The head court lady might really murder her someday.

But it was very hard for her to exercise in a dress. The corset was so tight that when she did crunches she always grunted in pain. She couldn't remove it though. The maids tied it so tightly that she didn't even know how to loosen the knots.

The truth is, she was already getting sick with being confined in her room. Doing that routine for three days almost drove her crazy. But she didn't have a choice.

After those three days she thought that she would be spending the whole week like that. But on the fourth day...

It was already past lunchtime when she heard a knock in her room. She was doing a set of press ups but she stopped wondering why the servants came back. Anyhow, she was already done with her meal so it made her quite confused.

Not having a choice, she approached the door and opened it. Only to see the head court lady's solemn face. She didn't know if she should let her in or not.

The head court lady looked at her with disinterest before shifting it elsewhere. She opened her mouth to speak her purpose of coming to her room.

"The Emperor wishes to see the Legacy. He says he wants the lady to meet her instructors for the day of the lessons are near ."

Ashley looked at her with surprise, not sure what to say to her. She would be lying if she said she was ecstatic with the news. She just nodded. The head Court lady turned on her heels and started walking. Ashley immediately went outside to follow her.

They walked silently through the hall till they reached Ramier's office. Both didn't try to utter a single word probably because of their antagonistic relationship.

The head Court lady knocked on the door to announce their presence. The door opened and it revealed Ramier talking with two women and one man. Ashley guessed that they were her future teachers.

The two women were well groomed and looked like they were approaching their forties but nonetheless they were still beauties. As for the man, he appeared as a typical professor with his glasses and bald head. She could guess that he would be the one teaching her about academic related stuff while the other two were on her grooming and etiquette matters.

As Ashley was openly assessing the three of them, they did the same to her. They were surprised to see her appearance. They could see that she was a petite woman with lively complexion, grey eyes. Some werewolves had grey eyes but hers were kinda different. She was quite attractive but it wasn't to an intense degree. They could describe her as pretty but not dashing.

Her long jet black hair and olive skin surprised them. They have seen her at the tournament but that was too far away so they couldn't see her clearly and she was immediately brought to the Palace since she fainted.

Now that they saw it up close it was indeed amazing. It was dark as night and her skin was brimming with vitality, it was very strange and fascinating at the same time.
