CHAPTER 15:

" Tom I'm glad to see you son , think all is going well with your surfing , right" , he said as he gave the bags to his butler , " yeah , all is well , so dad I'm really surprised you came back, how comes you didn't tell us" , " not happy about it" , " no I couldn't ,but it's no problem by the way I was just asking" , his dad looked at him as if he was suspecting something, " so, where's your mother , I've been trying to call her all day but she couldn't pick up , I was trying to tell her that I would arrive be coming this afternoon" tom stayed quiet for a while before answering .

" Ah , she has been doing some changes upstairs" his dad went up stairs and tom stayed downstairs he thought his father would know about the accident and stop him from surfing it troubled his mind and he went straight to his room .

In dilemma he sat on his bed he couldn't call any one of his friends he blamed himself for all he had done and he could have drowned to death but they saved him from that , tom felt disappointed of how he acted that day , he played some music and lied on his bed and closed his eyes .

" Tom do you mind stepping out of the room" , his mom said from behind the door , but tom didn't respond to her , he played his music too loud to hear his mom calling from behind the door , her mom called again but he still couldn't answer .

She decided to open the door , he approached tom and removed his headphones , tom then opened his eyes he then stood up hurriedly, " mom what's the matter you scared me" , " well I tried to call you but you couldn't wake up" , " okay , so what did you want to tell me mom " , " your dad demands a family dinner , it's been a long time since we had one" , " oh , that could be nice so I'm coming right away , I just need to do some more things here and take a shower" , " okay so I think I'll leave you to prepare a bit" , she said and went out of the room .

" So tom tell me about your surfing experience , has been going all well ?" , " yeah it's been great dad, you know I moved to merry hill seeking the best training so yeah I've been trying my best to be as great as I could, and I'm yet to show you what I'm capable of get ready to expect big things from me" , he said and looked at his mom she suspected they were too late to hide it from his dad . " So what do you mean we'll see more from you" , " dad we're hosting a competition, it's more like a tournament this season and we're competing with other schools , and I am ready to succeed" .

"Tom I think I'll be stopping you from surfing until further notice", " but dad why , what did I do wrong" , " I suppose you didn't expect me to know about what happened huh !" , " so how did you get to know about it" , " I've got a couple of friends right" , " you mean coach" . " Yes I tried to call your mom many times from yesterday but she couldn't pick up I tried calling you too but you couldn't as well , I then realized there was something wrong , and there was no one who knew it more than miley did so I called her and indeed she knew it all well" .

"But dad that was just an accident and it left no harm I can still surf and I promise it won't happen again" , " you're too late to ask tom , you could have caused more serious problems tom, imagine if it happens again tom , but I'm not such coward I won't let you" , " but dad it's the only chance for me to prove that I'm really good at it , and it's my destiny dad , don't you get it" , " tom you have to listen to your dad" , his mom interrupted , " I know mom but I'm not still a kid to be told what to do, I know what's good for me" , " tom to your room" , " dad come on ..." , " now tom it's an order" , his dad said furiously , tom flipped his fork and went to his room .

So angry and annoyed he lied on his bed and slept , he didn't even think of what he would do to save his surfing tournament few days ahead .

" Tom , tom , wake up tom" , " mom , what's the matter" , " I'm so sorry tom I think I made you get upset earlier" , " it was no problem mom , I can't believe he came to know about it mom , and now I'm about to face my worst nightmare , I think it's going to be a very long journey for him to let me join the club again" , " I don't think so tom , your dad is not easily convinced but he's looking for the best innermost you and you can't just impress him that way" . " so what can I do mom how will I make him believe in me" , " you know what you've got to talk to him tom , and I believe in you do this for yourself and your career tom" .

" I will try mom , I think tomorrow won't be too late , I don't feel like doing it today" , " okay tom , do it when you're ready and do your best , and remember that I am on your side tom , I'll to convince your dad " she said and winked her eye , " good night tom" , " good night mom and thanks" he said to his mom as he closed the door , tom immediately dozes off he slept badly that night he had no hope to get to the tournament .

" Mom , where has he been , I've not seen him since we had breakfast , I don't know where he is but I'm pretty sure he hasn't left the house he's some where around here I'll go check upstairs" .

Tom's dad came in as his mom went upstairs , " dad , I think we need to talk" , he said , " okay" , his dad said as he sat on the couch . "Dad I just wanted to say sorry for last night , I was so carried away by my love of surfing that I forgot about respecting , dad..." , " tom that's enough, I know how much you care for your surfing" , " so dad do you forgive me" , " yes of course" , " and do you allow me to practice at the club again" .

His dad breathed deeply " unfortunately not tom , you can't anymore" , " but dad why , why can't I join the club anymore , I love surfing" , " tom you've gone too far with surfing , it almost got you dead" , " but dad that had already passed why do you still consider it , it didn't happen" , " tom I'm not risking loosing m not risking loosing you this time , this is my word tom , don't try to go back , got it" , " dad come on give me a chance" , he said as his dad went upstairs . " when will he understand me" , he spoke to himself and turned on the tv .

" have you lost hope , and are you troubled by your friends and everyone around you doesn't care about your feelings , then it's not late it's time you tried on the new drum headphones with unique slow music that will help you forget all about those that drag you down , only for ten dollars and an additional prize" , " what's the use of all this" , he said as he turned off the advertisement channel , " tom , what's the matter" , " mom , I've tried several times but dad won't even listen to me".

" Tom don't worry there's still a chance I'll try to tell him myself just don't lose hope okay" , " alright mom , I think if he says no it'll be the end of surfing to me and no other hope " , " tom don't say like that , look I've known you dad for a long time I've tried we've came to a same agreement over the years but this case is complicated but I'll try to figure out the solution to this" , " okay mom , I believe you are my only hope now right" .
