Dr. Malachi had quite the calm look on his face. I don't know about anyone else, but if someone were to tell me that I had to be OK with the fact that I might live for hundreds of years without ever having someone to love, I would tell them to go to hell. I could never do something like that, and I didn't know how he was able to do it either.
I tried to look in his eyes, I tried to see something that told me that he was lying about being OK with his situation. I couldn't, though. I couldn't see anything other than his typical whatever look. He truly didn't seem to care that he just told me he had been alone for over a hundred years.
