A Villain's Guide to World Domination

Let me begin by telling you how much I hate cliches and Happy ever after's. Cinderella, getting the prince with love at first sight, snow-white, and her Prince with love’s first kiss…who’s gonna tell these fools that real life doesn’t work like that and don't even get me started with the so-called heroes. It's almost like the world is blind, and my four-eyed self(making sure to clean my pair of glasses before putting them back on) is the only human that can see that: Villains are the true masterminds, the ones with the goals, the only people who see the world as it is- an apple for the taking. That's why my motto is: Life is short and I, Ray, should always come FIRST. ********* Unlike the cute facade Ray puts up in front of his mother: the only person he cares about, Ray is anything but cute. He sees the world he lives in a little differently and he intends to change it. Unlike others vying to become heroes, he embraces the villain he knows himself to be and the absolute ruler he hopes to become. In a high-tension world where superhumans exist alongside mutated beasts with powers of their own , there is a huge gap between heroes and villains. Apart from the different grades(F-A) powers are divided into, they are also classified into two main groups. Propensity for good( Hero-like) and Propensity for bad(Villain-like). This means that the power each person can awaken directly affects how they are treated and which organizations and groups they can join. At fifteen, Ray’s life doesn’t go according to how he planned it. Not only is he unable to awaken his powers but caught in the crossfire of a huge battle between a hero and a villain, his life lingers at the brink of death. Just before his soul escapes his body, he gains a death-related system that not only changes his looks and body but also the way people view him. Regardless, Ray doesn’t care. His sole purpose is *world domination* even if he has to bring the world to its knees first. At first, he tries to join hands with a villain organization his father belonged to when he was alive, to take down as many heroes as he can as his powers slowly grow to balance the gap between the two groups. But when he discovers how shallow-minded other villains were to each other and themselves. Almost at the cost of his life, he finds a way to upgrade his system and ventures out on his own, building his army from scratch, using the very souls of the mutated beasts the human race is daily battling to defeat. He whines.

Jirena arrived in front of Ray's door in seconds, as she practically flew there unwillingly to believe any information that she received unless she saw it with her own eyes.

The door was wide open the moment she got there, staring with a wide-eyed expression of shock on her face as she watched Ray, sitting upright in the rectangular box that had been opened for him.

"I can still fix this…I can still kill him," was the first thought that popped into Jirena's mind as she looked around taking note of all the people that were in the room, right before stepping outside without uttering a single word.

The moment she reported the situation, she had been prepared for the yells and tone of disappointment she would get from Madam glow which was why she found it a little disconcerting when all she had was blank silence, the minute she called her, using the earpiece temporarily attached to her ears.

"It doesn't really matter whether he's dead or alive," Jirena heard Glow's voice coldly stream into her ear.

"let him go. If he so much as appears in front of me again. I'll personally take care of him myself," Glow continued, before disconnecting the call.

With a more relaxed expression on her face, compared to the one she had when she had barged into the room the moment she heard the news of Ray's survival.

"You are free to go, the moment you're able to walk," Jirena calmly announced, fixing the glasses on her face as she spoke in her professional and authoritative manner befitting her post as Glow's right-hand assistant.

The two doctors and nurses in the room with her were shocked at the sudden news, yet none of them could hide their relief and joy at hearing it.

Loin, Feena, and Harrin were relieved that the malfunction of the equipment wouldn't be put on them while Yoret, was simply glad that Ray would be gone and the machine would be fixed.

Meanwhile, Ray didn't need to look up as he slowly did his best to single-handedly get out of the machine, for him to sense the emotions the people around him were feeling.

"I'm sure they would like nothing more than to quickly get rid of me," Ray thought in his mind the second his legs hit the floor, feeling them crumble beneath him the moment he tried to put some weight on them.

Scared, he scrambled to the side with his hands stretched out to his right with the intent of hanging on to the machine to break his fall, only to see someone jump at him from the corner of his eyes, a little surprised that someone felt the need to help him.

But the next thing he felt was his hand being slapped to the side seconds before he could grab hold of the machine to break his fall.

"You little shit…" Yoret cried out in alarm, looking at the machine with a sigh of relief before turning to look at the scrawny boy on the ground, looking at his arm which he had managed to slice open when he fell to the ground.

"This machine costs more than you can ever have if you were to live for three lifetimes in a row…" Yoret continued not at all fazed when he saw the boy lift his head to look up at him. Meanwhile, he focused his attention on. The machine even as he listened to the annoying sound of him gritting his teeth together.

Ray was fuming with anger at the doctor that was responsible for the huge gash in his hand now drenched in his own blood when he suddenly saw a familiar dark screen pop up in front of him.

"Wh…what?"Ray screamed in his mind seeing the visible change in his screen and the strange mission that just appeared in front of him.

Ray's mind somewhere completely different even as Yoret continued talking.

"You stood for a second so you can leave. The nurse can fix that for you…" Yoret continued to speak, with his gaze completely back in the machine before locking eyes with Feena who was still on the other side of the room close to the door.

"Nurse" Yoret called out, jerking Feena back to reality, from the shock she had felt when she saw Yoret push the patient hard enough for him to bump into one of the metal stools that had been brought in. She was also surprised to suddenly find out that she was the only one left in the room with Yoret and their patient.

"Yes doctor Harrin," she replied, bowing a little, even though she had not heard what he ordered her to do but from the blood pooling on the wrist of their patient, Feena understood what he wanted her to do.

"The moment you're done, come to me and I'll instantly sign his release papers. You can also give him one of the wooden stocks from the basement we have to spare. I don't want to see him in this room when I come back…" Yoret ordered in a loud enough voice and a pissed expression that Feena couldn't help but vigorously bow her head to as she watched him leave the room with an aura of visible animosity, slamming the door shut behind him.

Hearing the loud bang of the door, still ringing in his ears, Ray gradually came to himself, shocked to see the mission on his screen, remain there.

"You can just wrap me up…" Ray belted out in the loudest whisper he could manage, still too weak to attempt to lift his head, considering the fact that he had been in a coma-like state for more than a week.

"I'll be fine," he said with an Indiscernible smile on his lips and cold eyes as he looked at the blood that continued to slowly drip down his wrists to the ground.

Feena said nothing. With quiet footsteps she picked up a small metal box on one of the shelves, moving to stand half a foot away from him before dropping to her knees in front of him.

Without saying a word, she quietly cleaned the wound, marveling a little at how silent her patient was through it, regardless of the fact that she needed to stitch the small but deep cut in his wrist.

In less than a minute, she was done making sure to wrap it properly in a way that would ensure that it didn't get infected until it healed, considering that in Ray's state, a tiny infection was enough to kill him.

The moment she was done, she stood back up with the box in her hand returning it to his formal position before she began making her way to the door.

The second she left, Ray drifted off to sleep gently laying his body on the ground as he continued to stare at the dark screen still visible in his mind.

"What the hell is that mission?" Ray asked in slight horror unable to consider the idea of killing a person or the consequences of it just to attain strength.

**********

"What the hell is this human doing?" Death cursed sprawled out on the floor at the bottom of his throne.

"Master…I think he doesn't intend to use the system," A tall elf-like man standing really to the side of the steps that led up to the throne replied with his head slightly bowed.

"I CAN SEE THAT…HARAL. How will I get stronger if he doesn't? The whole point of doing this was to catch up to the others. War, anger…even faith is far above me. At this point at the next meeting of the rules of power…I'll be completely forgotten. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH POWER I Poured into the system…" Death began yelling at first before he whined aloud, falling back to the ground in desperate hopelessness,

"You were running out of time my lord…you needed to use someone,"

"What now? If he doesn't use it. I'm fucked…You're fucked and he's fucked cause he's not even supposed to be alive. WHY ARE HUMANS SO UNGRATEFUl?"

"I broke my rule for him…" Death whispered in the lowest voice he could muster, " …and what do I have to show?"

"The others are doing it too, my lord…"

"I KNOW but I have no idea how they're getting away with it. At this point, I'm sure WAR has tens of people fueling his continued reign,"

"Maybe he needs more time, my lord," The elf-like man with pointed ears, wearing a regal black and white robe replied looking anywhere else but at his master image which was still sprawled out on the floor instead of being on his majestic throne which he should be sitting on.

"or maybe we shouldn't have put that warning there..." Haral thought, keeping it tightly to himself.

"How much time…" Death replied in a slightly angry voice, quickly getting to his feet, almost like he was hurrying somewhere or he had somewhere else to be.

"If this continues…I might as well forget about stepping into the inner halls, and he might as well blank out any thoughts of him getting any powers…" Death thought thinking about all the other continents the others slowly influenced and had control over while he couldn't even dominate one with his unique job of keeping souls.

"Sigh…this can not continue to happen,"
