You Knew...

Valerio walked out of the bathroom and made his way to the bed.

He laid down, covered himself with the bedsheet, and let out a deep sigh.

Anyone who looked at him could tell that something was heavily bothering him.

Everly, who was still seated on the couch, looked away from the book in her hand and glanced at him. She furrowed her brows and shut the book.

She stood up to her feet, strolled over to the bed, and climbed in to sit down next to him.

"Valerio," she called.

Valerio lay with his eyes shut, unwilling to say a word.

"Valerio, is everything okay with you? Is something wrong?" Concerned, Everly pried.

Valerio took a deep breath and opened his eyes to look at her. "Everything is fine," he replied.

"You're lying. You're not in a good mood, and you keep sighing. Tell me what's wrong." Everly gently smiled at him and held onto his hand.
