Ensure she is protected.
As they prepared for work that morning Adah was not fully motivated to move an inch toward the empire. She came out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hand and sat down on the chair facing the dressing table. She watched him as he dressed up and could not help smiling at him, She got up again and went for another cup before Munah called her back because of the ringing phone. She came out and picked up her phone and first made Munah see that it was her daddy before accepting the call. They greeted and teased each other with Adah laughing at her father's jokes and teases. Munah could hear their conversation clearly because she put the call on the loudspeaker. As they discussed, Munah sat down for he is beginning to understand the intrigues that come with being with the rich and mighty. He was shocked when Adah whispered that her father wants to speak to him. He nodded and collected the phone, and greeted him with a voice far to be his. They further exchanged pleasantries before in a commanding voice he ordered Munah to ensure that his daughter is protected. He demanded a promise to that effect which Munah gave him his word. The phone was given back to Adah who continued discussing vital issues with the father.
Munah wondered why such a command will be given by Mr. Denson. He felt quite uncomfortable but reasoned that it is natural for fathers to be protective of their children, especially an only child who happens to be a daughter. Looking at the whole issue, he feels that Mr. Denson is insecure despite the whole wealth and affluence. After she became fully his, it became his priority to love and shield her. Adah is now his topmost responsibility and there is no shame that is why he hit Bami and could have done more if not for the intervention of the securities. Adah is as soft as butter but that weakness should not be taken for granted. He remembered the first time he saw her, her mother had been summoned to explain why Adah's office was not cleaned. She had been quiet but took her decision eventually the rest is now history. Meeting Adah that day, he had never believed that any lady would have been created with so much beauty and splendor. Be thought he had seen the best of women especially when he worked at palm springs but Adah is far more than them in beauty and elegance. Their constant togetherness and conversations probably helped in their realization that love may be in the air. Her constant deep stare at him, always wanting him by her side and constantly visiting him in his office to do nothing most times but chat with him pointed toward her being caught up in the web of love. His fall for her cannot outrightly be explained because he thought that she was out of his league. Nonetheless, that first kiss in the car turned his life around, and now he is ever joyful that a lady like her in character and beauty did accept him into her life. Loving Adah is a very great responsibility because of her nature. She is very possessive of her man and so possessive that she sees it as a priority and responsibility to be by his side at all times no matter what. To some, it might be an act of stupidity but to Adah, it is more than a responsibility and calling. She is not the outgoing type, She loves her privacy and treasures her privacy which she loves spending with her man. She loves to read and is quite intelligent, soft-spoken, and one that can be predictive especially when hurt. An emotional personality whose mood swings Munah is still trying to adjust to but he aims to make her and give her the very best that she will deserve.
When Adah dropped the phone, she walked up to him and sat on his lap. He adjusted fully to accommodate her as he encircled her waist and made her rest fully on him.
"My father is so happy at the news of the building contract and the speed at which the group is moving. He wants us to go to the site and carry out our investigations, tour the site and thoroughly mark it out, he wants us to take a present and visit the authorities there for that will create a further opening for us." Adah said more trying to get a confirmation and affirmation from Munah.
"I think he is right," Munah said now understanding why the man insisted on protection for Adah. Adah turned and faced him as she sat astride him and encircled his neck with her hands pulling him towards her chest. She shook her hair backward and looked into his eyes without a smile.
"I love you and will continue to love you till the day I stop breathing. I will go nowhere without you and in this life, it is me you have to keep." She whispered while unconsciously he pulled her towards him as their body rested on each other for no words were needed anymore. Adah has again provoked his love by her love for this she knows how best to do. He reached out to her and kissed her fully as Adah moaned and responded to the coming passion. They entirely forgot that they should be on their way to work that morning as they held each other and touched and kissed as if they are just knowing each other as lovers for the first time. With great effort, Munah refrained as Adah refused to let go for she passionately clung to him as if her entire life depends on it.
"We should try and get going I promise you all of me tonight," Munah said looking passionately into her eyes.
"Just love me this once. I beg you." She pleaded softly with a note of disappointment in her voice.
"Please my love I promise you that I will love you. Let us tidy up our work schedules today and go on a long weekend to the site to celebrate together." Munah said as she reluctantly stood up from him and got dressed in quite a simple way but still looked her best. He finished his dressing and together both of them went to the park. Adah almost started a quarrel when he suggested that they go in their different cars but for peace, he invited her to the Predo V8 and together they left for work late that morning.
Throughout the drive to the office, Adah refused to say a word. She just sat and looked out of the window probably listening to the morning news on the radio. They got to the office with each going their different ways to the office. Adam was the first to highlight and never turned to look at him as she hurriedly left forgetting her computer, notepad, and a file. He carried them to his office and set to work while thirty minutes later Adah walked into his office looking worried but saying nothing. She just sat down on the three-seater sofa and switched on the wall television. As she busied her eyes on the screen, Mrs. Randolph came in to give him a report to be handed over to Adah. She saw Adah and greeted her with a smile, Adah informed her to prepare for the meeting and politely demanded if the project she was asked to do is now ready. She was quick to respond to her in the affirmative before leaving the office. Munah stole a glance at her and recollected that she is not happy about the way he denied her his love, he had already promised to make it up to her. He stood up and went to her, as she pretended to focus on the documentary on the screen. He noticed her rapt attention on the program and made to go back but she held unto him still not smiling. He tried to elude her but she was quite strong for him. She managed to pull him to the sofa and came on him. He allowed her and laughed out loud at the seriousness she seemed to attach to the play.
"Seriously, I am sorry for this morning. I promise you it will not repeat itself." Munah said looking into her brown eyes. She said nothing but released her hold on him. He sat up and adjusted his clothes.
"I have forgiven you, I was just hurt at the rejection." She said
"No, I did not reject you and will never even think about it, not in this life my love," Munah said truthfully.
"I believe you but you must forgive me too it pains me whenever you say no to me. I feel rejected, not appreciated, and sometimes it makes me look like I disturb you a lot." Adah said sounding spoilt as he smiled at her.
"I am sorry, please I will make it up to you," he assured her while she stood up.
"I will be in the car waiting for you at the car for the meeting. I have also directed the new boss at the sugar plant to implement the decisions regarding brown sugar production. I mandated the bureau of statistics to commence payments some moments ago." She said softly coming back to her usual self. Munah took her hands in his and walked her to his table and showed her the forgotten items. She smiled softly and took them before going out of the office. As she left, Munah shook his head with a smirk on his face and cleared his table before moving out to join her in the car.
