Someone steps out amongst the crowd of elderly that we have lining the upper parpets, like someone steps forward, really visibly forward, so he that looks like he is at the head of everything that is going on here but I know he's not.
The real officiator of these games is meant to be the head of the Council, the crazy woman with the weird nature but for some weird reason she isn't here, at least this much I know from what Adrian told me.
"The games are officially about to begin, each and every person has the chance to participate in a total of four games, you can forfeit any of the games so as to spend longer time in one in which you have a comparative advantage, the registration fees have all been announced earlier so anyone who would like to participate should please step forward and announce which game they will be participating in".
Okay......, this is going to take a long long while, because there are practically hundreds of people here.
I had expected it to take a long while but for some reason it seems there is a more orderly way to do these things. Three placards have been erected up, three selective booths which bear their own respective names, the one which bears the fighting pits is hung up with a black flag, the one for the Javelin is hung up with a yellow flag, the one for discus and others is hung up with a red flag, and the last one is sprints, it is held up with a white flag.
For some reason I wonder why everybody is simply going for the fighting pits. Sprints would be much faster and easier for everybody and also it is one of the most energy-consuming spots that I have ever experienced.
It consumes so much strength that it will simply leave the other person tired and unable to do anything else. Adrian should have gone for this, at least if he has enough dexterity, he still has a greater chance of winning than at the fighting pits because with the calibre of people that i have seen here, with the number of hunky and muscled people that I am seeing, I don't think Adrian has that much of a chance.
The people who participate in the fighting pits are men, I had always thought everyone here was simply around the age of eighteen or nineteen but yet these new arrivals have shocked me down to the core.
"Are they also from this place?" I ask Arden not knowing how to frame my words, and she shakes her head giving me an awry look.
"Why would you think they weren't in the first place?" she asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"They simply don't look like it".
I almost think that i have offended her in some way but instead she raises her hand up and she gives me an high five.
"You are really inquizitive for a little girl you know" she says and I shoot her a glare.
"Please stop referring to me as a little girl, I'm practically your grandma" I say back to her and she releases a pleased laugh.
