"I'm guessing it's unhealthy at this point, to keep on staring at him?" Arden says and Alice lets out a little laugh.
"You have to admit though. He is perfect, really really perfect".
"Why is Charlotte even doing all this?" I ask them, a little bit confused. Well I'm not confused as much as I am angry. I am angry at the fact that she's so sharply controlling someone, using him like a toy as if he doesn't have his own will.
"Why is she even doing this sort of thing?" I ask them, and they shrug their shoulders.
"Well you really need to ask the question, of why is he still with her up to this point?".
I'm guessing that is also a valid question that i should be asking, but still.
"I thought you guys said that she had some sort of secret on him" I say and Arden lets out a little laugh.
"I don't know about you, but I don't think that there's any secret anyone would have on me, that would make me be allow myself be degraded up to this level"
"That is also true" Alice says and I turn thier words around in my mind.
"But maybe he doesn't feel it so much, because he's male".
The moment I made this observation I knew that it was immediately stupid. Adrian simply pinches the bridge of his nose.
"I know, I know, I know, it sounded stupid the moment I said it too".
We all let out a little chuckle at this, and we look at each other trying to decide where to go next.
"Why don't we go further down so that Adrian can get some practice in while Dami keeps on distracting everyone else".
I actually release something of a cheeky smile at this. It seems we are not the only one with a strategy.
"Are you able to walk?" I ask him once more, and he nods his head.
"It's fine. It doesn't hurt that much".
"Okay then" i say and he shrugs.
We begin moving down the huge field and when I look up to the upper parpets, I can see his parents are still there. They are watching her each and every movement, and something shocks me here, something surprises me at this point.
You know the crazy lady who is practically in charge of this place, the one who had congratulated whoever killed Alice's sister, the way she stared at Damien, the way she stared at him made me feel there was something going on here.
It made me feel that there was something else that I could not see because that look on her face, that look was one of pity it was a pity even more pronounced than the one that I had seen on Adrian's face, and that is unusual. It is really unusual because you would have expected her to be happy at this occurrence, or at least delighted at the fact that someone else was getting humiliated, but instead she looks pitiful.
Pitiful enough that it didn't feel natural.
