“A princess’s duty is to remain punctual, elegant, and respectful. You, Amina are falling far short of that.”

Amina remained silent as she listened while her Mom scolded her. This was not the first time

her mother had given this lecture, and it wouldn’t be the last. The only thing

that seemed to change was what her mother was unhappy with. Trying to find

information on High Prince Tristain was a new one.

“Are you

listening to me, Amina?” Her mother’s voice took on an icy tone.

Amina rolled her

eyes. “Yes, Mother, I am listening.”

Queen Alyeth

sighed. “Why do I even bother telling you this. You say you know what it means

to be a princess, yet time and time again, evidence shows you are not worthy of

being a princess of Valden.”

Amina’s face

flushed. “At least I won’t have to marry into the Royal Family,” she snapped.
