Chapter 110

“So where to?” he asked.

The dog swiveled his head, then started down the driveway, pausing long enough to take care of the most pressing business first. Then he took off at a fast lope.

“Guess I have a new exercise regime,” Vance muttered with a chuckle as he kept pace with the dog.

The neighborhood where he lived consisted of a few homes with large tracts of trees separating them. A perfect area to get in a good run without having to deal with too much traffic. And King made certain it was a run, not a leisurely walk around the block. Half an hour later, when they returned to the house, Vance was hot, sweaty, and feeling remarkably invigorated. As he let them inside he found Ginna standing there, hands on hips.

“You do know I was a virtual prisoner here,” she grumped, before stepping into his space to give him a kiss. She wrinkled her nose, telling him in no uncertain terms he needed a shower.
