Murasame

Cap. 1 - Murasame

North Blue - Year 1500

The infamous king of pirates, Gold Roger, was arrested and executed by the navy in the city of Logue Town. However, along with this came the beginning of cruelty.

In his final words, Roger spoke of a great treasure hidden by him at the end of the Grand Line. Wealth, fame, power—the man who had it all initiated the most turbulent period in the world with just a few words.

Of course, Angus still wasn't aware of this; he still dreamed of being a free person, sailing the seas with his friends, experiencing grand adventures, and finding great treasures. But at this moment, he was even happier because his system was finally activated.

However, unlike what he imagined, the system didn't have an interface or anything like that; it was just a mechanical voice that informed him that every 24 hours, he could draw once and would win something. It could range from useless dust to the power of a deity.

In the first draw, Angus won a small pebble; in the second, he won a small stick, and in the third, 100 berries. Disheartened, he thought he could set it aside for a while to see if the draws accumulated, but unfortunately, instead of accumulating, the draw seemed to accumulate days of use, and the more he used it, the better the rewards would be. If he stopped, he would go back to square one.

In the backyard of his house, young Angus was undergoing intense physical training for his age. His father was not here however; he died 6 months ago due to a plague that swept the island. No one knows where the disease came from.

It emerged quickly and lethally, claiming the lives of several people throughout the island. Arty, the boy who used to lead the children, was one of the first to die, as well as Claus, Dom, Doss, and several other acquaintances.

Angus's mother, Anastácia, was also infected, and although she survived, she became much more fragile. The beautiful young woman she once was became thinner and tired, her red eyes that once sparkled with joy now showed melancholy and sadness.

He himself survived only because he had the ability to be immune to diseases, yet he almost died. Tomas worked at the docks helping the fishermen, practicing according to his father's teachings and manuals he left behind. His father's old sword was also sold to pay for the medications his mother needed.

After finishing the training, Angus got up from the ground. Although he was 8 years old, he measured 1.6m and looked like he was 12. His black hair was tied in a small ponytail like Arty's, and his red eyes gleamed with determination as he returned home.

- Angus!

- Mom! What are you doing standing? You know you can't catch this cold wind, the doctor said...

- I know what that idiot said, but you're going to work soon and have to eat.

- But I can make my own food.

- Forget it, I'm still your mother. Now go wash up.

Angus wanted to argue, but seeing his determined mother, he said nothing and went to wash up before lunch and work.

Returning to the living room, he saw his mother putting two soup bowls on the table, along with a piece of meat and bread. There was also a pitcher with juice from some red fruit that resembled grapes.

Both ate in silence, but Angus saw his mother enjoying this moment; she liked to eat with him, it reminded her of meals with his father.

After eating, he took her back to the room, ignoring her complaints about having to wash the dishes, and then went to the docks.

The island where Angus lived was a small island with three villages—one in the north, one in the center, and finally, his in the south. As for the east and west, they were cliffs that offered natural defense against possible invasions.

Because it was a small island, it was not exactly under the jurisdiction of the navy, so they almost never came here. In fact, the island itself had nothing to offer, no valuable minerals or exotic fruits and animals—nothing.

However, it had a large source of pure water that was necessary for travelers, so merchants stopped whenever they passed by and took the opportunity to bring some products to sell.

As for the population of the island, there were about 3 thousand people, more or less, divided among the three villages.

Arriving at the port, Angus talked to some acquaintances before heading to old Gus's boat. He was Arty's grandfather and liked Angus's company very much. He taught a lot about navigation to Angus, who learned as much as he could. Gus didn't have much knowledge about sailing on the high seas, but he had instinct and experience from a life on a boat, so his knowledge was extensive.

- Angus, see those clouds, what do they indicate?

While pulling the fishing net onto the boat, Angus heard old Gus talking to him. Looking at the sky, he thought for a moment and said,

- Rain.

- And what else?

- Rain with thunder that seems to hit the island, indicating it will be a storm, but not very strong.

- Exactly.

And so, they both returned to work, and as Angus predicted, a small storm hit the island that night. After putting his mother to sleep after taking the medications, Angus went to his room and did his daily draw.

- "Congratulations on obtaining - Murasame."

A sword suddenly appeared in front of Angus; it measured almost 1 meter and had a red hilt and scabbard. Angus removed the sword from the scabbard carefully and saw a silver blade that reflected his reflection perfectly. It was a true work of art; however...

- "How many lives have you taken, Murasame!?"

Angus immediately realized that this was Akame's sword from the Akame ga Kill series, a sword with a deadly curse that could kill anyone with just a slight wound.

He himself hadn't watched the whole anime; he barely remembered where he had stopped. After all, Akame ga Kill is an anime for those who don't mind the death of characters. He hated the author for creating such good characters only to kill them off shortly afterward.

But still, he knew a thing or two about the anime, and the sword in front of him is a terrible weapon. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the skill in sword handling or knows how to use them efficiently. He only does basic training without any foundation. So he sheathed it again and put it aside before going to sleep.

However, what no one noticed was that on the other side of the island, a large ship docked at the pier, and armed men came out and began to massacre everyone who lived there—men, women, and children; no one survived.

Suddenly, a thin man holding a sword stained with blood approached.

- Captain, we found nothing of value.

- Alright, there are still two other villages on this island.

- What do we do?

- Send our men to attack the next island now; let's take advantage of the storm and invade the central island and finally put an end to the southern island.

- Yes, sir.

The distance between the north and central islands was only 3 km for the pirates; it was easy to get there, and just like before, they took advantage of the storm for another bloodbath. This time, the loot they obtained was greater, as those who lived in the center of the island had a little more money, but still not enough.

The pirates stayed in the houses and went to sleep to recover some energy, and as soon as the sun rose, they marched toward the last village.

The captain had returned to the ship with some beautiful captive women and some strong men who would be sold as slaves. He sailed toward the last village to bombard it and prevent possible escapes.

And so, the morning arrived.
