:Death and Destruction part 1

Hello dear viewers, this is the third chapter of my azure lane book and I hope you like it.

Now I would've posted earlier but high school work is literally a thorn in my side but I managed to write it.

Also this chapter is long, like 5k-ish or more long

We left off when Yamato was given a fatal blow by the siren observer that killed her.

She had a strong will to stay alive but eventually death took her and the last thing I wrote was an orange fireball in the sky that was going to bring destruction on the sirens and that ship was Yamato which was being piloted by analyzer.

So before we jump into the main battle let's see from analyser's point of view when the invasion started.

POV Analyzer.

The AI of the ship could be seen inspecting some of the repairs done by the repair team and also those done by the manjuus.

So far they had done a good job and analyzer begun to head inside the ship before loud alarms blared throughout the many rooms of the station, people stopped what they were and headed somewhere deep into the station as if it was normal.

Analyzer rushed to the bridge as he accessed the local communications and sifted through the channels before he found the right one.

~This is bad, cosmic portals have just appeared in space above the planet the mill… wait I'm getting more reports of portals opening in all cities, its … It's an INVASION!~

The unidentified person said as analyzer powered up the Yamato for launch but just before he could leave the sounds of clamps filled the air as the Yamato was pinned in place.

Analyzer tried to hack the clamps to open but was stop by another AI. He was about to try again before a message popped up on the screen for the bridge.

"Attention all personnel, the Avrora station is currently under lockdown. All ships are not allowed to leave the station and all crew members should head for the bunkers immediately. This is an order from the admiral repeat this is a direct order from the admiral."

Analyzer stood there motionless as he struggled to think of what to do. Yamato was currently in the capital but he didn't want to defy orders from a person of rank, it was in his programming.

He subconsciously displayed a live video from the capitol showing buildings being blown up or toppled as the sirens fired their guns unopposed.

This brought up a memory of when he was with Yamato looking at the inky blackness of space.

"Analyzer, if I'm not there when a major situation occurs, I don't want you to follow orders from people even though you're an AI" she paused as turned to look at analyzer "I want you to carve your own destiny because I believe you're more than just a machine, I believe you can make your own choices"

The lights on his head piece glowed brighter as he plugged himself to his docking port.

"I want to be more than just a machine, I want to be human" as he finished that, the Yamato powered up fully as the wave motion engine was nearing its optimum energy output.

Outside, side mounted missiles swivelled into position facing the sides of the ship before loading depth charges.

The hatches flew open as side depth charges were fired, the small but deadly canisters flew a bit in the air before impacting the clamps and blowing them to smithereens.

POV change: admiral

The admiral was with his secretary as they continued to coordinate the lock down of the station, so far almost all personnel were in bunkers and the weapon system of the station had just come online but the problem was that they can't reach the sentries as they thought that maybe they were blown up.

"All personnel are in their bunkers except us admiral and distress signal is active." the secretary said as she stood up.

"Good, we should go too and head to the bunk---" he couldn't finish that last word as a massive explosion shook the station making the admiral almost fall but he was caught.

"What was that?! Damage report"

His secretary pulled up a bunch of screens before pointing at a security footage of the docks.

"Repair bay 5 was blown up though radar didn't pick up anything, the ship there was the Argo, which was undergoing repair."

The admiral was just about to say something when he saw movement in the smoke cloud. Looking closer at the screen, he saw the bow of the Argo emerge first before the rest of the ship pulled out, some trails of smoke flowing from the superstructure of the ship.

Before he could shout his anger at that ship, a line of text appeared that said, 'To protect Humanity'

This left him a bit baffled but before he could think about it more the ship turned on its main engine, its course as clear as day, planet Avrora.

"Admiral, should we do something about that ship."

"No, leave it. If it wants to go on a suicide mission so be it but let's just hurry to the bunkers" he finished swiftly walking out of the room followed by his secretary who took one glance at the ship as it flew towards the planet before catching up to her admiral.

POV :Analyzer

The Yamato flew as fast as it could, its destination the capital, but its path was blocked by a fleet of sirens that were turning towards the incoming ship.

A multitude of scenarios played in analysers head before he came up with one that would get him through quickly though it would require the sacrifice of the remaining fighters,

A ramp opened on the underbelly of the battleship as the remaining cosmo falcons sortied though, instead of flying ahead of the ship they remained in the shadow of the ship, a blind spot for radars.

At the bow, torpedoes were being loaded though these were special, they were filled to the brim with explosives that would leave a big smoke cloud, how will they be used continue reading to find out.

As soon as they were primed, they were lit up as their exhaust were diverted to small vents at the side, before shooting forward with a ton of speed.

As the torpedoes shot forward, they picked up more speed as the pull of gravity was becoming more and more. Until the torpedoes used up all their fuel making them coast forward as they still had speed and when the time was right, before they reached the siren's AA range, they blew up leaving a big smoke cloud.

This was the cue, as the falcons sped forward leaving the Yamato in the dust as they only had a few seconds at best before the enemy caught up to what they were doing. Once at the specified range, they released all the missiles in their compartments, leaving them empty but for the sake of the mission it had to be done.

The Yamato also fired its own missiles as the bow and side missiles were fired making it a total of 22 missiles from the Yamato.

The larger missiles easily caught up with the smaller fighter missiles as they closed upon their targets

The sirens after a few seconds blew away the smoke screen but it was too late. Missile after missile slammed into the siren ships decimating them as they tried to blow up the missiles but were too slow.

The Yamato closed upon its prey as the main guns fired some solid rounds hitting a few ships but it was too far away too be devastating much less accurate.

Over half of the ships were wiped out but the remaining won't fall for missiles so just before the Yamato entered firing range, manuver thrusters fired at its bow turning it to the right as the main and sub engines shut down making the Yamato turn broadside but still moving forward.

'3,2,1 FIRE' all main and secondary guns fired as 15 positron beams sailed into the loosely clustered sirens slicing up their ships as they returned fire.

The sirens shots mainly over and under shot but some managed to find their mark dealing damage to the ship but not anything critical.

The sounds of shock cannons firing sounded throughout the bridge as ships were exploding everywhere. Missiles, torpedoes even AA were damaging the enemy sirens leaving only a handful left but before they could be finished off a bright portal opened up as a siren battleship entered the fight, this was soon followed by more siren destroyers and cruisers.

A loud clang could be heard as the Yamato crashed into said battleship at its stern or backside making it turn to where the bow was facing the planet. The main and sub engines kicked in as the as the sound of metal grinding of each other was heard.

The grinding of the armours blew up some compartments making lines of smoke spew into the void of space.

The Yamato still continued strong as all guns and missiles were fired

Soon enough the Yamato was being swarmed as the enemy was relentless in their attacks.

'Now!' analyzer commanded as bright flashes of light lit up the enemy before destroying them leaving a smoke cloud. The culprits who did this, cosmo falcons.

Their fighters emerged in groups as they attacked the remaining sirens with their short range missiles which they normally carried 4 and then switched to guns.

This commotion was enough for the Yamato to slip away while also giving cover fire with its canons and missiles but in the end the falcons were blown up taking out the final enemy ship as the Yamato neared the planet.

The Yamato plunged into the atmosphere in a ball of fire ball as it pushed on, though for analyzer something didn't feel right in the lone bridge and the feeling only grew as the seconds ticked by.

Okay author here, remember in chapter 1 when the Yamato was being summoned its wisdom cube was broken and a new one was merged with the broken one to fix it okay, now imagine the feeling of one of those cubes being ripped out and crushed, you'd feel empty as if your missing something that made you whole now that's what analyzer felt.

The lights on analyser's head dimmed considerably as the Yamato plunged out of its fireball and flew past the clouds to reveal the capital which was in ruin.

"Ya-ma-to" he said slowly as the realization set in "no, she couldn't have died, she can't" a feeling unfamiliar to him, crept up his nerves and into his core.

Though, he remembered the feeling, when a gamilion robot was loose he had to kill it even though he had befriended it, he killed it and the feeling was the same as last time, it was what humans called sadness.

But for analyzer he felt more than just sadness, he felt anger. The lights returned in full force as the colour changed from normal yellow to pure red which gave him a scary look.

All he thought now was that he will kill the sirens for this.

The frontal main guns fired as 6 positon beams fired at the enemy ships that were floating above the capital.

The shock canons made quick work of them as the teared through any ship that dared lower their shields.

The Yamato flew past them breaking the sound barrier in the process before firing all its weaponry at the sirens.

As the fight ragged on some destroyers managed to tail the battleship, evading the incoming beams from the rear turrets.

Analyzer, even though angry, remembered a tactic that was used. The Yamato dipped as it came close to the ocean surface before using the manuvering thrusters to turn the ship while putting more power into the engines essential making it do something akin to a drift but with a space battleship.

"All main guns open fire!" all guns and missiles fired as in seconds over 15 ships were destroyed by one ship.

POV Change: humanoid siren observer

"Observer look, look that's the same ship we saw in the Boreas system" purifiers head said as she tried to reconnect with her body but was proving difficult without hands.

"Yes indeed, it's the same ship, Yamato, but I wonder what's its doing out here" Observer wondered while secretly in awe at the raw power that ship was giving.

'If I can take that ship bring it as one of ours we will be unstoppable' Observer thought as she saw the ship decimate 15 ships in one salvo

This made her feel she should take the ship even more. Observer raised her hand and with a snap of her fingers multiple portals opened behind her as battleship guns ,each different from the others, emerged from the portals.

Like that one time Akagi had opened portals to bring out her AA guns.

Observer raised her hands as her yellow eyes glowed brightly "let the fun begin"

Analyzer had just enough time to react when the lasers were about to slam into him by powering on the wave motion shield.

He calculated the area where the shot came from and did a scan, there were no ships but when he detected those human sirens, it made him feel angry as the screen showed them to be two with rigging that had tentacles in them upon closer inspection.

The side mounted depth charges swivelled around before firing a bunch of missiles at them which they easily dodged but the explosion blew up the building they were on leaving a crater.

"Seems like I should step up the difficulty" observer said as pink energy concentrated on her hand before disappearing when she snapped her fingers.

The result numerous portals opening around the battleship as it stopped firing

Numerous ships poured though the portals as they pointed all their guns at the ship.

Observer laughed at this show of power "its carnage time"

In response all siren ships opened fire at the lone space battleship.

'Nothing'

That's what she felt as she continued to float in the inky void of death. Her clothes were shredded and her eyes were dull and devoid of any life in them.

"Am I going to die here?" She asked no-one as the darkness remained no spear of light anywhere.

"I don't want to die here not yet" she said as darkness was enveloping her field of view.

Using the last of her strength she reached out hoping for someone to save her, but she knew no-one would, for she was alone.

Before she was trapped in eternal darkness, she felt a hand touch hers as golden light emanated from a person in front of her who was wearing a commanders uniform and its was

"Okita kanjou" she said that as colour returned to skin and the blood red colour return to her eyes.

"Yamato, you made a promise didn't you?" he asked as he stared at her in the eyes

"I did, but I failed, I died and I broke the promise you made" Yamato said as she looked down as well as her ears and tails dropped

"You didn't fail or break anything Yamato" Yamato's ears perked up as she looked at Okita in astonishment.

"Yamato your journey is far from over, wake up and realise that" a faint white glow enveloped Okita as it steadily grew in brightness "Yamato, protect humanity, earth and her colonies, protect those who you formed bonds with." the white light almost covered her field of view as Okita told her one more thing.

"Yamato you are our last hope when humanity was almost extinct, Yamato, you are humanities hope so please wake up and open your eyes." he finished as the white light completely covered her vision as she took in a painful gasp of breath.

'Okita's right, on all my voyages I was carrying humanities hopes so why should I die now.'

The point of view changes as we look to where Yamato's body was, the blood having dried long ago, her previous lifeless body now had colour as her eyes opened revealing two glowing orbs of red that spoke of vengeance.

Yamato forced her body to stand up ignoring the searing pain in her body. Her eyes tracked the sky for her ship as she spotted a big cluster of sirens ganging up on a single ship, Her ship.

If her eyes weren't glowing before they were now on fire literally as the fight brought up the seething rage that was crawling under her skin.

For the battleship Yamato, all and I saw all weapon systems except wave motion gun were firing all they got as the wave motion shields were keeping away most enemy fire. I say most because holes were starting to form and one stray torpedo was all it took for it to pass through one of the holes and impact the side cheek of the ship under turret 2.

For every 1 ship destroyed 2 more take its place, this was making analyzer regret getting rid of the falcons.

But for Yamato she raised he right arm ,which was bleeding but that didn't affect her, and said the two words that were burning in her heart.

"Yamato hashin" she said.

As soon as those words left her mouth, a bright golden aura appeared around her and her ship which made the sirens confused but didn't stop them from firing their guns which harmlessly bounced off of the armour.

For Yamato it was a feeling that she couldn't describe as a cube shot out from the ship before dozens if not thousands of golden cubes flew from the ship as it disintegrated into golden cubes

Around her a rigging was forming from the golden cubes that looked similar to her ship.

To her sides the bow of her ship could be clearly noted as three loud thuds signified the arrival of the main batteries as they aimed there barrels in the sky ready for an attack. Two of her main guns were on her right while the last main gun was on her left. The secondary's soon followed as they were placed above top main gun to her right and above the turret to her left.

Her AA was spread around the rigging but were mainly concentrated on her left and right sides.

Her smokestack was behind her back and was primed with missiles while the torpedoes from her bow, aft where placed along the bows of the first two turrets, and her broadside missile were placed in a 8 configuration along the sides of her bow.

Her sub engines formed around her shoe and her main engine was split into two small ones as they were on the two ends of the rigging at the back, and to top it all of her bridge was placed to the right side before her turrets, all this were clamped together at her hip for easy manuverability.

Her eyes slightly glowed in a blue hue as her rigging focused on the two individuals who were hovering in the air while looking at Yamato with … interest.

"Things just keep getting better and better" Observer said as her rigging materialized fully around her "welcome back to the land of the living empress"

"No wonder she was strong even without her rigging, but that doesn't matter because you will always be the same useless empress" Purifier mocked as her flight rigging materialized.

For Yamato, just looking at those two sirens were pissing her off but a different feeling emerged when they mentioned 'useless empress' something she couldn't quite put her finger on.

"Useless empress, you say" a small blue flame danced in her eyes as she withdrew the golden sword she bought "then I'll just show you how this empress will destroy you, for you have angered her"

A blue aura travelled up her sword's edge before coating the sword in a blue flame that gave her a scary appearance in its glow.

[Notice: skill balance breaker is in effect.]

Sword skills are now in their release. Damage output has significantly increased]

"Sword skill cosmic scale … release!" if the first flame was a torch fire now it was a blazing inferno as blue energy swirled around her sword condensing along the edge of the blade "Hadoho (wave motion) slash!"

Yamato cut the air in front of her as a mindboggling amount of energy was released in a single swing.

The air rippled as the incoming energy tore through it with a scream that would wake the dead.

"Now this is what I want!" Observer said as she put up a multi-layered cosmic barrier waiting for the strike to impact.

The hadoho slash connected with the barrier as a blinding light was emitted from the point of contact. The barrier held for a few seconds before it fell to the immense energy and soon other barriers fell and then it was only one barrier remaining as ripples were created in the barrier, the anti-matter destroying the shield very quickly.

For Observer, even with a sweaty face she still had a smile on her face even her last barrier was failing fast.

"humph, special skill galactic prism" with a flick of her hand the barrier expanded and enveloped the hadoho slash quickly condensing into a smaller and smaller ball until the barrier couldn't hold on anymore.

Spears of white light broke through the crack before ending in a blinding white explosion that had the explosive power of a nuclear bomb which destroyed any building in a 10 mile radius.

This, and the large amount of smoke produced, created a perfect environment for a sneak attack.

Observer scanned the smoke before detecting a short jump in energy opening a portal and retrieving her sword which had a reddish aura around it.

The space in front of her distorted a bit before Yamato emerged her sword already coated in wave motion energy as they both made contact.

Wave motion energy and siren energy clashed as sparks were produced just from being in contact.

Yamato's blue eyes stared into Observer's yellow eyes full of hatred as she shouted

"Super nova" this is the release of solar slash.

Her sword burst into blue flames as it cut through observer's sword, but this gave observer enough time to dodge as it barely missed her face only cutting a few strands of her hair.

Though if you looked closer you'd see observer having a smirk on her face.

Yamato's eyes widened as just behind Observer was Purifier who had 7 glowing portals surrounding her which had laser guns that's protruded out of them as they fired a pink beam that was travelling at the speed of light.

Yamato didn't have enough time to respond as the 7 beams accurately struck against her rigging leaving a plume of smoke behind.

"Observer you're hurt" Purifier said as on the left side of Observer's face was a deep wound that was spewing a mix of red and yellow blood.

Observer carefully touched her wound as she felt a new sensation she hasn't felt in eons pain and this surprisingly made her laugh as she looked at Purifier who was having a smile of her own

"That monster wouldn't have died from that attack" observer as she stretched out her bloodied hand. "I think we should do that before we lose this fight"

Purifier gladly took a hold of Observer's hand "Sure if it means that I won't die again then I'll gladly leave you to your death" a bright pink light glowed from purifiers rigging as a portal formed under her.

As the smoke cleared it showed Yamato who was holding her shoulder in slight pain as one of the lasers struck her there but was deflected away. Most of the beams were deflected by her bow but a few had managed to hit and melt some of her side armour but that didn't pose any problem to her current fight as she could still fire from all main guns

The smoke cleared in front of her cleared as she raised her sword to be ready for an attack. Her cosmo radar couldn't find anything and her optical radars couldn't see anything because of the smoke but as her eyes frantically searched the smoke she saw something glint in the corner of her eye.

She brought her sword to parry but was surprised to see a fist collide with her blade but was even more surprised at the amount of force it had as it pushed her back a couple meters and cleared the smoke around her before her thrusters fired to slow her down.

She carefully eyed the new rigging Observer had as she noticed the fact it looked like two riggings had been put together and the end result was a mix of tentacles and a hammerhead at the top

"How many millennia has it been when I last battled in this form, especially with a ship girl" observer looked with a wicked smile as 5 portals formed around her.

From those portals Yamato detected a massive build-up of energy in form of energy balls that were growing bigger and bigger as they were filled with energy, these sort of reminded her of Andromeda's graviton orbs or shots or whatever they were as they were very destructive in testing as she found that out the hard way.

Those energy balls shot out of the portals with speed as they neared Yamato ,who had already put up her wave motion shields, and collided with her shield and slowly pushed Yamato back even with her thrusters on but before they could explode something weird happened.

The orbs of energy stopped as all 5 collapsed into a black point that wasn't even a black hole. Whatever it was, the amount of energy in there was going through the roof as they siphoned energy from her shields and wave motion engine before exploding outwardly in a violent white explosion that destroyed a few more buildings.

"Black hole nova" Observer said as she watched the remains of the explosion slowly disperse through the air as she brought her hands up.

Observer laughed as she looked up at the sky before willing 4 giant portals to open in the sky. They were arranged in a triangle way as it had three points and one portal at the centre. From the three portal points, finger like extensions protruded out of them as in the centre a small pillar was pushed out.

"Now let the destruction begin" Observer said as red energy flowed through the finger like extensions before charging up at the points and shooting towards the pillar as 3 beams converged to form a giant red orb that was facing the planet's surface.

"Planetary devastation Aphosis" Observer knew what she was doing was overkill but certain things had to done to solve certain problems.

Charging up the super weapon but that would only take 30 seconds to charge up which would be very little time for ship girls to stop her, but the empress is different.

Observer looked up as she saw explosions in the sky before her eyes caught the Yamato in ship form rapidly descending through the atmosphere.

'There is no stopping her, is there? Observer thought as she opened dozens of portals that spewed out even more ships, though these were the out dated ships.

Observer watched as missiles and positron rounds tore her summoned ships apart. Heck, one of the ships tried to ram Yamato but you already know what happens if you ram Yamato, you get split in half and blown up.

Though, for some reason instead of flying directly into the city they were flying above the water surface as they neared the capital.

POV change Yamato

"Yamato, 15 seconds until firing" analyzer said as a steady stream of missiles and destruction occurred around the ship.

"Analyzer, release left anchor when I say" the Yamato was quickly reaching the shoreline in the path of the planetary destroyer.

"NOW!" the left rocket anchor was quickly released as a target was chosen and its rockets firing off. Several seconds later the anchor dug itself into the ground as it suddenly became taught which made the Yamato to turn to the left as almost all its momentum was gone.

And not a second too late as the planetary weapon fired. Any unlucky ship that was in the beams path were destroyed as it headed straight to Yamato's ship

"Analyzer, turn gravity anchors to full and put the wave motion shield to full, focus it all to the front, brace for shock and flash " a cone shape of blue energy formed at the bow as its gravity anchors turned on stopping all of its speed and making it rooted to the spot.

A few minutes later the red beam collided with Yamato's shield as an orange red light was seen from where they made contact

"Wave motion shields falling below 50 percent!" analyzer reported as two booms could be heard outside the ship.

"Reroute all power to the shields now!" more power was pumped into the shields as any holes were filled and a vibration resonated throughout the ship as the gravity anchors were being given less and less power

Just when it seemed the shields would fail, the super weapon powered down due to overheating.

"Wave motion shields at 15 percent, heavy damage to hull, all weapons are still functional" analyzer reported

"Good" Yamato said as the ship burst into golden cubes that formed her rigging.

Her sword was lost in the last attack of that siren ,the black hole nova, and her rigging had seen better days as it full of holes and burnt metal.

"Hope" Yamato whispered. It was the reason why she was built, why humanity if attacked fought to the bitter end, because they had a hope that they would survive the war and rebuild what they lost. It was the same thing in this universe like hers.

[Notice: special ability 'last hope' has been achieved and activated. All main guns have switched to transit positron rounds.]

Yamato felt a surge of power flood her system as her main guns had a gold tint on them from the metal grey, but she knew that this wasn't enough. She needed more power to beat that stupid shield of hers.

[Notice: hidden skill 'limit breaker' has been found and activated. Power to engine has been reduced by 30% and all main weapons have been increased by 40% in power].

"Target locked" Yamato said as her radar locked in on the stationery enemy "all main guns blow it apart"

All 9 positron rounds were fired as they streaked across the sky in golden colour that looked similar to a transit hadoho shot from 2202

When the rounds met the shield put up they penetrated as they weren't there and exploded when they reached their target.

The explosion was bright enough to be seen from space as the clouds that were near the site of explosion were blown away by the shockwave of the blast, this affected half of the cloud cover of the entire planet as the deserts which were dry and had no humid were now wet and humid as dozens of clouds were pushed there.

Now back to the capital which was still standing mind you, they only recorded category 5 hurricane winds there which was like over 175 km/h

Yamato stood there visibly shocked as she watched the clouds being pushed back though it wasn't her first time seeing it though. She was about to go check the city when a series of alarms blared in her head. The cause, probably her thrusters as they were now belching out black smoke.

"All electrical systems are powering down, thrusters are powering down, wave motion engine is powering down, all sys--" analyzer couldn't finish that as all systems turned off leaving Yamato flightless and powerless as she crashed into the sea and due to all the holes in her hull made her sink beneath the waves to her watery demise.
