The soul contained another 2000 souls, so right now, my souls should be around 6240, I think I can use the bonfire to level up like in the game. And the armor set is a medieval type armor. Even though it looks quite stupid, it is still stronger than my current armor, so, I equipped it with little hesitations.
After Zed got all his loots from the Asylum Demon, he quickly went to the left, where the door was. He did not want to leave yet because there is still the Estus Flask, he is really gonna need it in the later stages.
And Zed wanted to meet Oscar, the man stupid enough not to use his own Estus Flask on himself. He really couldn't understand why he didn't use the Flask for himself, he could've survived.
Anyway, his only goal here is to take those Estus Flask, nothing more. Meeting Oscar is only a bonus.
When Zed just entered, the metal door behind him suddenly closed on its own. Of course, Zed got spooked by this but he quickly got over it and continued to walk down the stairs.
On the bottom of the stairs, he saw a sewer and a bonfire right in front of him. He lit the bonfire up with no hesitations before walking around towards the door.
Zed already knew that there was a hollow shooting arrows at him after he walks through the door. So, he activated his Sharingan before walking through the door.
As soon as he entered it, an arrow immediately whistled through the air, shooting towards him. The arrow was fast, no normal undead would have seen that but Zed was no normal undead.
With his Sharingan, the arrow looks like it is in slow motion. Just as the arrow was about to hit him, he grabbed it.
Zed puts the arrow in his inventory before looking straight ahead of him. The place was tight, if he were to fight someone here with melee weapons, he would surely lose. At the other end of the tight place, he saw a basic hollow holding a bow, ready to shoot at him again. This time, it is heading straight towards his head.
Zed moved his head a little and the arrow missed. Zed was about to quickly run straight to the hollow, when he saw something sitting by the wall of the door, it was a wooden shield with a white dragon's head marked on it. He noticed it was stronger than his current shield, so he picked it up and threw away his current shield inside the room before equipping his new shield on his left arm.
But he was quite confused with something, why is this shield here? He knew of this shield, this can be found on the Undead Burg, on a corpse behind a door just before the first bonfire in the Undead Burg.
Did something happen? Did my arrival here change something?
Zed shook his head and said, "Dwelling on it will not help me, after all, who am I to refuse such an enticing shield?, " He chuckled.
Another whistle in the air and an arrow was speeding towards him. Zed looks at it and just as it arrived, he caught it. He puts it in his inventory again before continuing towards the Hollow.
He ran straight towards the hollow and the hollow tried to run away but it moved sluggishly and Zed managed to catch up to it before throwing his Axe towards the neck of the Hollow.
The head was severed by the Axe and the Axe continued on to the wall. It made a loud clang after it hit the stone wall before dropping to the ground.
Zed picks it up before noticing another equipment hanging around near the entrance of the room. It was a small dagger.
He walks towards the dagger before picking it up. It was quite light, in fact, it was lighter than his Hand Axe. But the attack damage is lower.
If the wiki in the earth was right, his Axe's attack damage is 80 and this dagger is 56. The difference was not that big but this is Dark Souls, everything you think is small is one day going to be your death. He learned that the hard way.
After examining the dagger, he put it in his inventory. He went towards the room, where a fog gate was at the other end of it.
Zed did not hesitate before walking through the fog gate. The fog disappeared after he walked through it.
Now, it's time to meet Oscar, Knight Of Astora.
He went towards the stairs that go upwards before going back down again. A boulder rolled down on the stairs before it hit the wall, breaking the wall in the process.
He walks towards the broken wall before entering it. And there he was, Oscar injured from something.
He noticed that there was a light shining towards Oscar. He looks up and saw a hole up in the ceilings.
Zed cups his hands before saying, "Oh, so that's why."
He must've crashed into this room after battling the Asylum Demon from the roof.
"Oh, you... You're no Hollow, eh?"
Suddenly, Oscar spoke to him.
Zed looks back on him and nodded his head.
The Knight seems to have been relieved that he was no hollow.
"Thank goodness... I'm done for, I'm afraid... I'll die soon, then lose my sanity... I wish to ask something of you... You and I, we're both Undead... Hear me out, will you?" Oscar said weakly.
He is dying anyway, let's hear what he has to say. I've got time to spare anyway.
Zed then nodded his head and Oscar smiled weakly before continuing.
"Thank you. Regrettably, I have failed in my mission... But perhaps you can keep the torch lit... There is an old saying in my family... Thou who art Undead, art chosen... In thine exodus from the Undead Asylum, maketh pilgrimage to the land of Ancient Lords... When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know... Well, now you know... And I can die with hope in my heart... Oh, one more thing... Here, take this... An Estus Flask, an Undead's favourite... Oh, and this..." He explained weakly before he took out an Estus Flask from somewhere and handed it towards Zed.
Zed took the Estus Flask without hesitation.
After taking the Flask, he looks at the eyes of Oscar seriously and asks, "Why don't you take these Estus Flask for yourself? Don't you want to live?"
Oscar seems to chuckle for a moment before saying, "I no longer have a goal, and you know what happens to undead's who doesn't have goal, don't you?"
Zed sighed and said, "Such a shame, if we met at different times, do you think we would've been great comrades?"
Oscar seems to thought about it and he said, "I don't know much about you, but I think you could've been a great comrade."
"Thanks."
Oscar then coughed a little.
"It seems my time has already come. Now I must bid farewell... I would hate to harm you after death... So, go now... And thank you..." With these last words, his body fell limp and he died.
Zed sighed sadly before he went towards the staircase, where a basic hollow will attack him.
I'm planning a new original novel, but I just started planning it yesterday. So for now, I'll post chaps of this fanfic.
