Character 98: A dinner with Nishimiyas

Seiya didn't dare to spout a single word in the face of the deathly glare of the pink head terminator.

Let alone speak, he could barely eat dinner.

"No," Yaeko spoke and also averted her gaze towards her plate. Was she too obvious? "The flavor is a little different."

And Yaeko's glared returned towards Seiya.

For some reason, Seiya was scared of Yaeko. It was not his first time that he was facing such hostile parents.

Utaha's father was in the military and was always had a grunted expression whenever he used to meet Seiya but Seiya never cared about the protective father figure.

"Really…?" Yaeko was surprised to hear this revelation. 5 years ago, when Shoko lost her hearing aids due to bullying, she was struggling to buy new pair but to her surprise, Shoko already got new pair from someone with a note.

She tried to find the owner of those aids but didn't find one. If Seiya was that boy then there is no doubt about it since Shoko does have a good memory of recognizing people.

"Really? I had no idea." Seiya was equally surprised. He didn't know he had med Shoko before.

Though his memory is good, he couldn't recall his counter with Shoko.

He must have met her when his mother divorced his father. Those were his gray days so he had already buried those memories.

He had won many prizes when he was little and he usually gifted most of the prize money or items to those in need. It was his father who taught him to be considerate of others. He was so glad that he was able to help Shoko.

"Come to think of it, I just remember encountering a cute girl. I am so glad I was able to help, Nishimiya-san." Seiya spoke.

He didn't know if the person who met Shoko was him but who cares, all he need to do is to impress his angel.

Shōko's face lit up with impish glee as she heard Seiya's words.

"Yeah, she had already recognized Kanie-kun at first glance. After losing her 3rd pair, she was pretty depressed." Yuzuru added.

"But why did she lose them in the first place?"

Although Seiya knew the answer, he wanted to hear in words or at least let the conversation continue to avoid getting killed by the terminator's glare.

"W-well..." Yuzuru was reluctant to speak about a sensitive topic so she turned towards her family for their responses.

Yaeko was quiet. She wanted to see Seiya's response for some reason.

It was all smiling while Shoko also didn't appear to have a problem.

"You see…" After that Yuzuru started to speak.

She didn't need to reveal Shoko's past to someone she was not familiar with but Seiya was different. He had helped Shoko, not once but twice. His father was a famous photographer that Yuzuru was secretly a fan of and Seiya also goes to a prestigious school.

She didn't see a reason not to tell him at least Shoko's past.

A few minutes later.

"Shoko *sniff* -chan *sniff*"

It was so damn sad! Watching the movie was another thing but hearing this live brought him to tears. How can the world be so cruel to this angel?!

Seiya couldn't stop his tears and started sulking.

The rest of Nishimiyas were also surprised.

They didn't expect the Seiya to burst into tears. Though his face looks super funny.

"Pfft! Hey, you don't need to cry, you know?" Yuzuru snickered and spoke to the sulking boy.

"I am not cryin'! Just something went in my eyes…! Sniff*" Seiya didn't want to admit it but then felt a soft palm on his head. It was the angel Shoko. "Oh, my angel!"

Though she was also laughing softly at him for making such silly, it was worth it.

"Cough*. Be quiet and eat silently." It was then Yaeko coughed and speak.

If she didn't stop this drama, she would also start laughing and break her character. Seiya's crying face was just too funny.

After that, the dinner continued without any problem.

It was Yaeko who came to see Seiya off. She wanted to talk with him. She wanted to thank him for helping Shoko.

She also wanted to clear some misunderstandings since Seiya was seemed to be scared of her. It was not new since her face was scary that even her patients got goosebumps when she didn't even want to scare them.

"So… ano…" Seiya decided to speak but didn't know how to address her since Yaeko kept glaring at him for some reason.

"Well… Nishimiya-san, have I done something wrong?" Seiya asked. They were alone and he didn't want to get slapped but he also didn't want this woman to keep staring at him.

"…No," Yaeko spoke and averted her gaze. She realized she kept glaring at him even she didn't want to.

Though she wanted to thank him, she was just too pissed today.

Unknown to Seiya, Yaeko did encounter Seiya's father today, and let's just say their meeting was not harmonious.

"Anyway, don't hang out with Shoko. She is young enough and doesn't need your sympathy."

Though Yaeko knew she was being rude and unfair to Seiya, she didn't want, and her daughters, to be associated with the Kyūbu family.

They appear to be flirty and good-hearted at first but they are liars who would break promises without a second thought.

"Sympathy? I think Nishimiya-san is mistaking my intention."

"Mistaking?"

"Yes, I admit I do symphonize with Shoko-chan but my friendship is based on her kindness," Seiya spoke as he started walking towards his motorbike. "Shoko-chan has right to be happy. No, every happiness shall belong to her."

As he sat down on his bike and geared the engine, he spoke last words, "As such, I can't leave your daughter. Bye."

And he drove away.

"Wait! Arg, dammit, I should have given him my piece of mind!" She also wanted to thank him but he already escaped.

She knew that no good will come from being associated with the Kyūbu household.

Seiya thought Yaeko's behavior was a bit excessive so he decided to visit his father.

As soon as he opened the door, he heard Aisu's voice and she seemed to be scolding his father.

"What the hell, aniki? Are you some kind of child that I have to bail you out now?!"

"I am sorrryyy!!"

Ignoring his father in seiza position, he asked his aunt, "What happened, nee-san?"
