Explanation

The two girls came inside. One was a petite girl with a beautiful face, while the other girl was looking down. She had covered her head with a cap. But one could tell that she was beautiful only by looking at her graceful figure.

As they entered they inquired about the main inspector. At that time Shastri and Praveen had just entered the police station. Seeing them, Shastri quickly went out and called Mr.Vardhan. "Who are they?" Praveen asked confused.

"They are the ones we are trying to find," said Shastri. Then he went to the girl with the cap and asked "Am I right Mrs.Nikhita?"

Nikhita lifted her face and looked at Shastri. There was no haughtiness in the face, only anxiety. She suddenly held Shastri's hand and began to cry," My brother did nothing wrong. It was my planning all along. Please release my brother. Please, I beg of you"

Shastri was flustered by Nikhita suddenly holding his hands. But he quickly guided her to the chair. After they were seated, he gestured one of the constables to bring one glass of water.

Then he sat on in front of them. Just as Praveen was also seated there was a commotion in the entrance. Mr.Vardhan and his wife had come rushing over. When Mr.Vardhan's wife, Usha saw Nikhita she was overwhelmed with grief.

She ran to her daughter, held her hands, and began crying. Even Mr.Vardhan was emotional. But he controlled himself and thanked Shastri.

"Sir, everything went according to what you have planned. You are our savior, sir. If not for you I would not have my daughter back", Mr.Vardhan said overwhelmed.

Praveen had no idea what was happening. He looked at Shastri, Dumbfounded. Even Nikhita looked at him in amazement.

Shastri could feel the burning gazes directed to him. But he was not perturbed by it. Instead, he was excited like a magician who is going to perform the magic tricks in front of the audiences. He looked at them and said," I will tell you how I came to the conclusion. But first, let the main perpetrator of the case, Mr.Niriksh join us."

Niriksh came out from his cell. Even though he had stayed in jail all night, only some exhaustion was visible in his face. As he entered he saw Nikhita. He stood still for a few seconds and then began to glare at Shastri.

Shastri was unperturbed by his glaring. He said, "Are you going to stand there all day long, or are you going to correct me while I explain your predicament to them?"

Niriksh then sat on one of the chairs. But he was still glaring at Shastri full of resentment.

"I will explain from the beginning then. When Viraj had explained the case, the only words that were resounding in my ears were Nikhita's goal to become a teacher and her excellent marks. Being a teacher demands a lot of mental stability as a teacher should be a role model for his or her students. Vimala, her classmate assured me that she was an excellent student but her behavior started to change after coming from the semester holidays. I was sure that something had happened at her house during the vacations."

"Now while I was discussing the case with Praveen, he said that Niriksh, Nikhita's brother had come from Pune two days late. Niriksh, suddenly put down his head feeling embarrassed. But others were listening to him with rapt attention.

"Now, I believe that ladies have a boon of transformation. If you can see some movies of actresses you will know what I mean. An actress will appear as graceful in one movie, while a dumbhead in another just because of some makeup and hairstyling. Now when I saw Mrs.Nikhita in the photo I saw only one feature- her long hair", laughing Shastri pulled the cap from Nikhita's head. Her hair had been rounded and tied with the rubber band. Seeing her cover was blown Nikhita yelped.

But would Shastri care? He just kept the cap in the table and continued the narrative," This was the plan used to get away from college. There was some repair work going on in the college it seems. The watchman was not concerned anyway about them. So she made the plan, slipped with the laborers through the gate."

"Did not the laborers know that they had an increase in their numbers?" Praveen asked.

"Do you think that they care? They are all contractual workers. They work on a day to day basis. Why should they care about the increase or decrease? They will do their work and be on their way counting the money they have rightfully earned." Shastri explained.

" But how come they are here?" Praveen asked pointing at Nikhita. He still found it unbelievable that the girl for whom he had searched for nearly two weeks was standing in front of him two days after handing the case to Shastri's hands.

" Well, here I had the help of Mr.Vardhan. First I called my colleague in Pune to collect details about Niriksh. He also sent me his data on time. Once I had the information about Niriksh, I called Mr.Vardhan He listened to my suggestion and decided to help me"

"How did he help you?", Praveen asked, curious.

" Do you think it would be possible for me to incriminate Niriksh for one night if we fight against Mr.Vardhan's legal team or connections? And as I have promised Mr.Vardhan only one night was necessary for me. When Nikhita and his girlfriend saw that Niriksh was not picking the call they panicked. Then they came to the Varthur police station as soon as possible."
