Kenny watched them leave and when he heard their footsteps on the stairs and their murmur, he dipped the sheet into his pocket and stared at the door to their room.

"Baby," he silently approached her gently on the bed.

"Kenny," she responded and turned to face him but he had already lifted her head and placed it on his legs as he settled in bed. "It's not your fault," she looked up at him as she clenched her hands around his hand.

"How do you know I'm blaming myself?" He faked a smile.

"Your face says a lot sometimes," she looked down as if she was already tired of staring up. Her voice was even tired.

"Then how wasn't it my fault?"

"Because," she breathed in while he stroked her hair. "What happens, happens," she glanced at him reminding him of his words.

Kenny stared at her as if numb of words and then, scoffed. He pinched her nose and leaned in to kiss her cheek. "This time I'm at fault," he said.
