Happiness

"Papa!" in front of Kristopher stood Derek tears scrolling down his chubby cheeks like diamonds.

"Were you going to leave me too?" with just one sentence Derek made Kristopher realize his stupidity. He wanted to run towards Derek and hug him and tell him that he made a mistake and how he would never leave him but he couldn't move at all.

Suddenly everything felt distant as he felt himself sliding away from everything. Derek Voice became distant but he could still hear him calling for Papa.

"Derek"

he called with all the power he could muster in his vocals.

"Papa!"the voice somewhat became closer which encouraged him to call his son harder

"Derek! please i am sorry i won't ever leave you. i am sorry!"

He could feel his tears running down his cheeks.

"Papa!"

the voice became closer and closer and when he thought the voice couldn't get any closer his eyes shot open.

The first thing he saw was Derek. without thinking twice he pulled Derek into a hug and started crying.

"Oh Son! I am sooo sorry. I promise to never leave you alone"

Derek was just a kid he didn't knew what his father was talking about.

"Papa why would you leave me? You only fainted because you didn't eat your vegetables. You should have been a good boy and eat your vegetables."

Kristopher took a deep breath and said "Yes i would be a good boy and eat my vegetables"

"Yeahhh! Mama would be soo happy "Kristopher heart stopped he pulled away from Derek and stared at his face

"Mama? is she alive?didn't..... didn't she"

Suddenly Someone pulled Derek away from Kristopher grip

"Papa needs to be checked by doctors Derek. why don't we go grab a snack" Namjoon said and took Derek out

"Yeah! i want ice cream!"

"No you need to eat vegetables" Kristopher could hear the leaving voices of namjoon and his son debating about what snack to get

"Kris?" Kristopher head snapped towards the person he least expected to see.

"Alexander?"

"Are you okay? how do you feel?" Alex asked

"I....feel exhausted"

"That is one of the symptoms of hallucinating. See when you brought Jude here you were too agitated. You were too worried and somehow your blood sugar levels dropped causing you to faint but since you had too much on your mind plus the exhaustion you started hallucinating. And by how you were just talking in your sleep looks like it was a bad dream"

When Alex was done explaining everything Kristopher noticed the IV drip attached to him.

Wait if all of that was a dream then...

"JUDE? HOW'S SHE?"

"Relax! she is past the dangerous stage. only needs time and care to recover"

Suddenly a heavy weight got off Kristophers shoulders as he felt light.

All the energy left his body and hr fell back on the bed which he laid on worrying Alex

"Are you alright? let me call the doctors"

"No need!" Kristopher stopped Alex and took a deep breath

"I just suddenly feel.......so free of all worries. Like there is no burden that can weight me down anymore"

Alex took his seat back and looked at Kristopher

"You both really did suffer alot. finally its time for both of you to find happiness"

Kristopher thought for a while before saying something even he himself didn't understand. He only knew that those words came out of his heart

"we think we never had happiness because times are hard. Happiness can be found even in the most devastating times. Its always there but we fail to see it"

Everything paused for a moment and there was utter silence.

"William Shakespeare who? its Kristopher Farmington!"

Namjoon entered with Derek who was eating carrots.

"Papa lets eat together. you need the energy"

Everyone laughed at Derek's unwillingness to eat vegetables and cute cunning behaviour to get rid of them
