In the terrain of vampires, there are three categories of vampire species. Newly turned vampires are called "Nefeans," while those who have fed on human blood for decades are "Olfeans." The Daniels, however, are part of a rare bloodline; the "Erebosians." Named after the Greek god of darkness and shadow, they possess a unique and intense affinity for the shadows, secrecy, and darkness that can empower and distinguish them from other vampires. They are few in number but possess a formidable might that sets them apart as a powerful and venerable breed of vampires.
The Daniels possess a vast array of supernatural powers than the Nefeans and Olfeans vampires. They are superhumanly stronger, able to lift heavy objects and overpower most living beings with ease. Their speed is similarly impressive, allowing them to move at lightning speed and outrun most supernatural beings. Their senses are heightened to incredible levels, with exceptional sight, smell, and hearing that allow them to see in the dark, smell blood from a distance, and hear even the quietest of sounds.
All the vampires also possess the power of regeneration, allowing them to heal rapidly from injuries and recover from even fatal wounds, as long as they have enough blood to feed on. They are also immortal and immune to most forms of disease, lending an air of timelessness and invincibility to their existence.
On the morning path to the Daniels compound, a heated argument broke out about the werewolf killings from the night before.
Kelvin heard what they were saying from his room window. He approached them and was directed back to the woods where the incident too place. Little did anyone know, Kelvin, the very one who committed the crime, arrived on scene and feigned innocence before joining the conversation.
"Woah, what's going on here?" Kelvin asked as he stepped into the group of vampires, werewolves, and witches gathered around the scene.
"They're here about the killings last night," Maya explained, her voice tense as she stood in front of the group to defend her family's innocence.
As Kelvin joined the conversation, the group of witches and werewolves became increasingly agitated and fearful. They knew that he was a powerful vampire with a notorious reputation, and his sudden return only added to their suspicion and fear.
Trembling voices from the crowd whispered to each other if it was really the legendary Kelvin Daniel. "Is it him?" "I heard he's a Demo God vampire." "What's he doing here now?"
Without knowing that he was the one responsible for the werewolf killings, they still couldn't help but see him as a potential threat, which only fueled their anger and frustration further.
"A vampire killed ten werewolves last night," a vampire from the group spoke up, his tone accusatory.
"Then who do you think did it?" Alisha, the witch heiress, asked as she stepped forward, her grandmother Gangia standing closely beside her.
Kelvin's heart leaped when he saw Alisha amongst the group - he couldn't help but feel a strong connection to her again, despite the fact that she was a witch and he was a vampire.
When he heard her speak, he couldn't help but smile inwardly at the surprise in her voice upon realizing that he was one of the Daniels. He knew that their connection would never be allowed, given the animosity between vampires and witches, and also, her family and his, but he couldn't help but feel drawn to her.
Kelvin's heart sank as he heard the accusation from the witches and werewolves - he knew all too well that they were right, one of the Daniels killed the ten werewolves, himself to be precised.
"We don't know, but it certainly wasn't anyone from our family," Alisha replied firmly.
"Speak for yourself." A werewolf uttered to Alisha, he was of the same pack with the murdered werewolves.
Gangia, sensing the unease in the group, turned her attention to Kelvin. "Kelvin, when did you arrive in town?" she asked, her voice stern and inquisitive. Kelvin, knowing that his arrival might be seen as suspicious, tried to keep his composure as he answered, "I arrived just yesterday evening, and have been staying at the Daniels compound ever since." Despite his attempt to sound nonchalant, he couldn't help but feel a slight tremor of fear as he waited for her next question.
Gangia continued her questioning, her piercing gaze fixed on Kelvin. "And why did you choose to return after all these years?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.
As Gangia continued her questioning, with the group intently watching, Kelvin felt his thoughts racing. Finally, he spoke up, "I came back to Ratel city because of my sick sister. She got bitten by a werewolf, am sure you're already aware." As Gangia raised an eyebrow, Kelvin continued, "I knew I had to be close by to protect her and make sure she got the proper treatment she needed."
The group listened intently, and some of the tension dissipated as they saw Kelvin's concern for his sister. However, there were still skeptics among them, wondering if Kelvin's return was indeed solely for his sister's sake. Nonetheless, they decided to keep an open mind, at least for the time being.
"And after your sister is well, what will you do?" Gangia asked.
Kelvin felt a lump form in his throat as he searched for an answer. However, he couldn't think of any convincing excuse for that. Instead, he decided to turn the tables on Gangia by asking her a difficult question of his own.
"Well, I could ask you the same thing, Gangia," he said, his voice calm and measured. "Why have the witches suddenly taken such an interest in werewolf deaths, when they have never shown any concern for the killings of our kind?" His question hung heavy in the air, as the rest of the group fell silent and awaited Gangia's answer, but she was speechless.
As the group listened to Kelvin's explanation for his sudden return, Maya couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Though she couldn't quite put her finger on it, something about Kelvin's story didn't quite add up. Deep down, she knew that he was the one responsible for the werewolf killings.
Despite her suspicions, Maya tried to maintain a neutral expression, not wanting to draw attention to herself. However, as the conversation continued, she couldn't help but watch Kelvin closely, looking for any sign that might confirm her suspicions.
The group continued to argue and discuss the rules and balances of Ratel city, with Maya and Gangia exchanging heated words. Eventually, they came to a tentative agreement and the group dispersed, with the promise to investigate further.
Alisha cleared the air by adding, "The Elite group will give us feedback sooner or later." Everyone listened to Alisha and dismissed the scene.
Kelvin couldn't shake the feeling of anger and frustration as he watched them leave. He knew they were powerful entities who could make life difficult for the Daniels if they work together.
Maya and Kelvin also returned home, leaving the werewolves to bury their dead.
