Chapter 38

She's busy reading a book, so I slowly walked through her, "Hoy!" I tried to surprise her.

"Hoy ka rin," she replied, she's not even get startled. Tsk! Failed.

"Why are you here?" I asked as I sat beside her.

"No ones around. I always find peace when I'm here," she said. Nasa archery practice area kami. Tama nga naman siya, walang tao rito. Tinatamad yata 'yong mga estudyante na gumala rito, eh.

"Buti na lang nagpang-abot ulit tayo," I suddenly uttered. Well, I'd never talked with her since a week ago! After I answered Veia's question that I like Hillary as a friend, we no longer have a conversation. Laging kinukuha ni Andrei 'yong attention niya, that's why I'm always with Veia. Minsan, masaya ako. At last, we're together again, pero pakiramdam ko I'm being a traitor to my Twin. Hay!

"Can't you get it? Iniiwasan kita," she said.

With confusion, I ask, "what?"

"You remind me of Sun. You're twin, you two are so identical!"

"Naalala mo siya sa'kin?"

"Oo. And, it hurts me seeing you."

"Wow, Hillary!" I literally exclaimed. "Iyang pagiging straightforward mo nakakasakit na, ha," I added.

She smiled, "I'm just being honest," she replied.

So, totoo nga? She's not joking? Damn it?!

"So, iiwasan na rin kita para 'di ka masaktan?" I asked.

"Better you should," she answered too soon.

"Are you even thinking of your words, Hillary? Nakakasakit ka na talaga."

"Bakit?" she closed her book and stared at me, "bakit ka nasasaktan?" she asked again.

"Aren't we friends?"

"We are."

"Bakit kailangan nating iwasan ang isa't isa?"

"For everything to become better."

"Sh*t, Hillary!" I don't know! I just don't understand what she's saying! "we're friends, we should helping each other, hindi 'yong mag-iiwasan na lang tayo," I uttered damn serious.

"Aren't you have Veia in your side? She's not yet enough?"

And, I become muted! Hindi ko alam kung ano 'yong isasagot ko. Sh*t, man, sh*t!

Hillary's POV

He's just staring at me, so I'd decided to leave the place. Hindi niya rin naman ako pinigilang umalis kaya tuluyan ko na nga siyang iniwan.

As I am walking through somewhere, I crossed with Veia. She looked at me seriously, "si Sky?" she asked.

"Find him on your own," I replied and left her. Whenever I saw her, I always remember that day when she confronted me about being close to Sky. It happened two days after he asked Sky if he likes me.

I am in the washroom, cleaning my hand when Veia came.

"Hi," she greeted me and I also do the same. "Hillary, may gusto lang sana akong sabihin sa'yo," she muttered.

"Ano 'yon?"

"Just this time, pwede bang akin muna si Sky? I need him."

Nagulat talaga ako! Bakit? Do I own him? Just, what the heck!

"Hindi mo naman siya kailangan, 'di ba? Ako, kailangan ko siya, eh. I need my best friend," she uttered again.

Tss. We all need someone to talk to! I know we're all still sad and in pain after what happened, pero hindi naman siguro ibig sabihin no'n magiging selfish na siya!

Tama nga 'yong desisyon ko na 'di na magsalita no'ng libing ni Sun baka kasi masabi kong muntik na kaming magkaroon ng love story noon. Buti na lang talaga, baka 'pag nalaman ni Veia may kung anong mangyaring 'di maganda. Pero, kahit na 'di ko 'yon sinabi, I still need Sky. Sa lahat ng taong kilala ko siya lang ang may alam sa'min ni Sun, he can understand me!

"Kahit ngayon lang, Hillary," I was back at myself when she speaks again, "iwasan mo muna si Sky para magkaroon naman kami ng oras mag best friend, ha," she said.

I was about to give her my reply, but she went out too soon. At, hindi ko alam kung ba't sinunod ko siya. Yes, I am avoiding Sky for good, pero siya naman 'tong lapit nang lapit sa'kin. Tsk!

Hindi ko alam kung haggang kailan ko siya iiwasan. But, I'll be honest, there were times that I am longing for his presence. Kaya lang, tama si Veia, kailangan nila ng oras bilang mag best friend and besides, sila 'yong mas malapit kay Sun kaya pareho nilang maiintindihan ang nararamdaman nila.

Buti na lang andiyan si Andrei. Dahil diyan sa pagiging annoying niya nakakalimutan ko si Veia at si Sky.

Sky's POV

After staying there for almost half an hour, I'd decided to leave.

"Sky!"

"Vee!" I even raised my hand to greet her.

"Kanina pa kita hinahanap," she said as she clings into my arm.

"Bakit?"

"Wala lang, namiss ko lang 'yong best friend ko."

"Tss," I then chuckled.

"Hoy, bakit, bawal ba?"

"Hindi naman."

I sat at the bench and looked at somewhere. Veia has been talking about this and that, pero hindi ako nakikinig. I suddenly looked at her and she's still busy talking about the learning she got from reading ABM students' books.

'Twin, I have your heart, and it still beats so weirdly whenever I'm with this woman just like how it beats when I had my original heart.'

I sighed.

'Hindi ito tama.'

"I'm so brilliant, Sky, 'di ba?" she suddenly asked.

"O-oo naman," I get my eyes off of her and I saw someone else, laughing with another man.

Hindi naman siguro 'yon 'yong rason niya kaya niya ako iniiwasan. Maybe it's all because of him, so she can spare time to be with Andrei.

"Let's go, Vee, the last period is about to start," I stood up so soon and started walking.

Mas mabuti na lang sigurong makasama ko si Veia lagi kaysa kunin ko 'yong oras na gusto niyang ilaan para kay Andrei.
