Worth it after all

The comment at (Design:) is where the pictures of the aliens are shown

The sea monster was still out there, and his best guess was that it was right underneath the lake close to the shore. The chances of someone dying due to the sea monsters attack were high.

Moments later. Everyone was ordered over to the camp store. The lake fun was supposed to be a surprise for the students so telling them to bring extra swim clothing would have messed up the surprise.

After receiving their clothing the girls and boys were separated so they could undress and redress into their swim wear.

"Yo I'm gonna hit cannonballs in that water bro." Jacob spoke to Trent.

"Cannonballs?"

"I'm gonna do the frog splash." Style added.

"Wrestling style." One of the boys joked.

"I'm just gonna sit by the sandy beach, I don't need to waste the extra energy on that stuff." Jed said.

"Boring." Addie sounded.

"What about you Mr Lenardo?" Style asked the dark skinned boy, "What are you gonna do?"

Cameron looked up from his daze, "I don't know."

"What's wrong boy?" Jed voiced his concern, "You sick? You can always go to the camp director they will help you out and excuse you from this."

"Camp director... They control the camp right?" Cameron rose a question.

"Yeah. They say what goes and what doesn't go."

"So if they wanted they could close down this whole thing?"

"Yeah basically."

"Gotcha. I'm feeling kinda gassy so I'm gonna go do my business, in the bathroom."

"Please do." Trent encouraged, "We don't need you closing down the whole lake because of your shit."

Cameron with his beach attire which was a simply army short, rushed out of the dorm room and ran down to the directors office.

"I can beg the director to close down the lake, because I saw someone pee in it. He or she will have no choice but to say yes."

Cameron ran passed Maddie who was walking with her friend and almost bumped into Ruby who quickly jumped out of the way and grabbed him by the arm.

"Where were you?"

"Oh Ruby. I can't talk I have t-"

"No don't ignore the question. Where the hell were you? Do you know how much times we had to postpone the act just waiting for you."

"I'm really sorry, but I have to-"

"Have to what?"

"Look Ruby I truly am sorry b-"

"Seriously Cameron. School is busy, and we have our own friend groups those reasons are the reasons we never get to hang out with each other. We barely hang out nowadays Cameron, we barely see each other and that's okay, because we both know we will always be besties... But still... The stress..."

"Ruby-"

"When I heard about the outing I was excited because I could wine down, but then I realized the pressure on me. This outing must have cost a fortune and if we fail to capture the gold at the NeRd Olympics then this whole thing was wasted money. These thoughts they all stress me... But when I'm with you... Those thoughts are all gone... That feeling you give me... The feeling of being a child again... I love it... Because of that... I've grown a liking to this place and I can't wait to swim in the lake like we use to when we were kids."

"...Ruby... I enjoy this as well..."

Ruby bent the top of her middle finger with her thumb. "Besties?"

Cameron bent the top of his middle finger with his thumb, "Besties."

The two flicked their fingers together. Cameron watched as Ruby waved off, the dark skinned boy was once again faced with conflicted thoughts, but this time he knew the right one to take. He raised his right arm up to his chest.

➜Old Dale Camp

[Forest Peak]

Cameron squeezed the buttons on the sides until the silhouette popped up. When the silhouette popped, the dial turned bright green. Cameron looked ahead waiting for the monster to arrive.

A white transparent light shined and Paradox appeared. "It was about time, you stuck up and did the right thing."

"I'm doing this for Ruby." Cameron claimed with his eyes still focused on the lake. Paradox placed his hand on the boys shoulder.

"Those will be the famous words of yester year. No matter your reason it is still the right thing. Because of that, I will aid you a tiny bit."

Paradox tapped his staff and Cameron with wide eyes watched as the sea water started moving faster than usual. 15 seconds later the water reverted back to normal and a shadow formed beneath the sea floor... it was the lake monster.

After locking eyes with the monster Cameron breathed in then out releasing his fears, "So you said press something."

Paradox shrugged.

"Right. Can these four buttons on the dial move?" Cameron pressed the two buttons located on opposite sides of the dial and the middle of the two green half triangle outlines flickered green five times before morphing the two outlines into a diamond by widening out the center, unlike its predecessor the diamond instead of being grayish black in the middle was a lightish green. Inside the silhouette was a dark figure.

Cameron looked up at Paradox. "If you wanna fly like a fly go ahead." He commented.

Cameron pressed and another figure came into view. He looked up at Paradox who looked away.

The dark skinned boy was about to press the device, but remembered from before and instead slammed his palm on to the dial pushing the silhouette back into place and engulfing himself in green energy.

((((His cheeks sucked into his mouth to the point his jaw was visible, his skin near his eyes all sucked into the hole his eyes use to be at before they were sucked into his body. He took a deep breath and when he released all his skin melted off into a puddle that morphed into white goo. The puddle jumped up and splashed down onto him, covering his face with a hoodie which was connected to a bottomed cut cloak that went up to his knees)))))

Design:

"Skeleton like build huh? Oh and hazy voice neat." The skeleton Cameron scratched his skull in confusion, "What does this guy do anyway?"

"I don't know. You chose him on your own accord after all."

"You're not seriously doing this right now are you?" Alien Cameron voiced his irritation. "I don't know why you gave me advice for the brain guy, but refuse to give me advice for this one."

"Well, I'll leave you too your duties. Just make sure while your fighting you don't accidentally burn out like you do during tests."

"Okay?" Cameron turned to the sea creature. "Alright skeleton show me what you can do... Lasers!"

Cameron beamed his holo skeleton eyes forward and nothing occurred.

The monster fired off four rapid water shots. Alien Cameron stood his ground and flexibly arched his skeleton body to the back dodging the first water shot, from there  alien Cameron pushed his arms down into a backflip dodging the second shot and lastly did a small twirl and dodged the third shot.

The fourth shot came out of nowhere and pushed him off his feet.

"Okay that might have sucked. But I can see my movement has increased."

The monster released a powerful growl at the mountain leading up to the peak. "I'm not down-" the peak started shaking and before the skeleton knew it, the peak broke apart and with the alien crashed into the sandy shore.

"D-damnit..." The skeleton alien lifted his head and was immediately set into shock when he saw the giant creature in mid air, before the alien could react the creature crashed into the water pushing forward a powerful wave of water that knocked the alien into the mountain side.

The creature fired of six shots of blasted water. The water bolted over to the alien and connected perfectly with a splash denting the wall the alien was stuck in even more. The next round came.

"...ENOUGH!..."

With a huge blast of inferno the water was evaporated into steam and the now fire coated alien was free from the mountains grasp. Cameron looked at his new form with a smile and looked up at the creature, "Oh you messed up buddy."

Design:

The creature fired off another beam of water, the alien in an attempt to dodge the attack jumped up accidentally releasing a strong force of fire that shot himself into mid air. In another attempt, the alien noticing the jump wasn't permanent tried to stop itself from landing by waving his arms to the shore accidentally released a fire pulse that blasted him up.

"So that's how you work. Gotcha."

The fire alien used his fire and propelled himself to the monster that blasted forward continuous streams of water. Still using his fire the alien swerved his body to the left dodging the first stream and swerved to the right dodging the next.

The alien still in mid air prompt his arms forward and shot off a blast burn of fire, that broke through the stream of water and burnt the monster by the mouth coursing it to release a light screech.

With the monster slightly distracted the fire alien grabbed his opportunity and moved in closer. When the monster regained notice, it was greeted by a powerful fire packed punch to the face that sent it's body crashing into the sea floor.

The fire alien turned to Paradox, "I think were do-"

From the depths of the sea floor the creature sprung out with its mouth wide open and chomped it closed with the fire alien inside. The monster splashed back into the water.

Paradox looked at his watch, "Three minutes until they arrive. That was quicker than expected, very impressive Cameron Lenardo, very impressive."

The monster exploded. The necklace around its neck transformed into a mini drone and Paradox watched it fly off.

The students all charged to the lake like a pack of lions chasing down their runaway pray. They all had with them their bought swimming gear, and many other swimming accessories.

Ruby sat down underneath an umbrella placed by one of her friends, and soaked in the unique smell of the lake water while looking around for Cameron.

From afar, on top of the broken mountain peak stood the fire alien, a bright smile covering his face as he watched everyone enjoy themselves.

"Guess it was worth it after all."
