Chapter 42: Geien

Helemoira and Lensa took to training with their new powers like fish to water. It helped that Pelleas had started them with hand-to-hand combat as soon as he could; but training with my powers was a different game altogether. However, I wasn't prepared for the little surprise that Helemoira had been hiding.

I caught her healing Lensa after landing a particularly bad blow, one which Lensa took with gritted teeth and determination.

"What is that you've just done?" I asked as Helemoira placed her hands to Lensa's face and watched as the wound began to heal, but not like she had done in the past, not using my gifts.

"I healed her," she said as if it were obvious. "After you bestowed your gifts, I gained the ability. Did you-" she paused.

"I did not," I said with near repulsion. "Let me see." I summoned a blade to my hand and quickly sliced my palm and then gave it to her. "Show me."
