Loss

In front of her, Alissa couldn't believe what she was witnessing. In fact, she did not expect another tragic scene to happen before her…

Her lover had forgotten her. He had left her alone, and hadn't even acknowledged her existence when he had walked out of the door. It was like she was invisible to him, hidden from his knowledge and awareness. She was nothing but a ghost to him. A ghost, who he couldn't recognize, nor see…

'Is… Is he gone?' Alissa dropped to her knees as she realized. Realized that the person that had left through the door just a second ago, is in fact, not her lover. Hence why, her question, in order to figure out whether he is dead or not.

'It can't be, right? He wouldn't just leave me, right?' Again, just like a few weeks ago, Alissa was at a loss. She didn't know what to do, now that her lover is gone.

It hadn't even been more than a week since the two had to live their lives as ghosts. Just when they both had adapted to their new lives, and grown their romantic relationship into something greater, that's when a bad omen had to strike them both. Alissa was left all alone, and her lover couldn't continue his second chance in life.

Quite the tragic ending for the both of them…

"No. He's just not himself anymore. I… I can fix him. I will fix him." Alissa uttered, a minute or two after she had fallen to her knees.

As she said those words of hers, she let go of her last tears, before standing up again. She was no longer sorrowful, and instead, she was determined and full of hope. She was ready. Ready to get her lover out of whatever dark place he's in.

That said, she went and phased through the walls of the house immediately, as she had a goal in mind. Her goal, which is to follow the guy twenty four seven, in order to find a way for her to get her lover back.

Following the car that the guy was driving, she found him doing quite the strangest things. Within a span of a few weeks, he sorted out many paper works that deals with his identity and state of residency. He changed his name, transferred a lot of money to new bank accounts, and even made a fake passport to move into a different country.

Somewhere in central Europe. That is where he decided to go.

After his flight, he was quick to take a taxi towards a far away town. A town that isn't too big, has all the requirements that he needs, and that isn't a place of attraction.

It seems that he was trying to hide from someone, or something. It was definitely not Alissa that he was trying to hide from, of course, since he wasn't able to see her. Alissa was always near him as well, so, it was definitely not her that he was hiding from.

"Mark Evans… Just what are you doing…?" Alissa wondered, some time after she had observed most of his habits and patterns.

Mark Evans, which is the guy's new name, has been acting quite in a way that piqued Alissa's interest. Ever since his failed attempt in suicide, he's been acting very mysterious, cautious, and serious. This made Alissa wonder if such a personality is truly his, or if her lover had affected his mind. Perhaps both their mind had merged together, she concluded. But of course, she couldn't be too sure of her conclusion, unless she had enough evidence to back it up.

The thing is, she is incapable of doing exactly that. Mark simply lead a too secretive life, and he even had different attitudes that she couldn't discern. To the people of the town he seems like a very nice and gentle person who has found peace in life, however, whenever he is alone, vengeance and hate seems to be the only thing to his personality.

Other than Mark's strange character, his mind is also inaccessible. No matter how much effort Alissa puts into getting inside his mind, she never succeeds. Whenever she tried to get in, she got blocked by some kind of mind barrier. In fact, it isn't exactly a barrier, because it's more like noise that pushes everything away.

In the end, Alissa was able to conclude one thing for sure. Mark Evans is a person that doesn't trust anyone or anything. In fact, his distrust is so strong, that his mind is also capable of pushing other minds away.

"Mark Evans… Evan… That's your name, love. You're still in there, aren't you? But what has caused this body to be so distrustful? Is it because you took over his mind, or did you trigger some sort of memory of his?"

*Sigh*

Alissa let out a noise that indicated how exhausted she was, simply because she wasn't able to get any answers, even after all the time that she had spent on spying the guy in front of her.

Indeed, Mark Evans was actually in front of her. He was in fact, sleeping...

Obviously, if Mark wasn't in front of her, she wouldn't be having some sort of talk with her lover. Some sort of talk, of course, because Evan was obviously not there to answer her or hear her.

To Alissa's assumption, Mark might be the one who is conscious and moving, while Evan might be the extra personality that is slumbering inside Mark's mind. She can't be too sure of her own assumptions, of course…

"It seems like I have no choice then. The only way I'll be able to find you, Evan, is through Mark. And to do that, I'll have to break some of the promises that I've made with you…"
