Escape

"Mark! Are you there! It's me, Artemis! We need to go!"

It was Artemis who was calling out for Mark. After noticing the trails of blood that lead towards one general direction, she was able to figure out that it is Mark that those blood trials lead to. The vile woman was desiring for Mark, which is why it was easy for Artemis to come up to such a conclusion.

"You're too late..."

Behind Artemis, the queen of draculas appeared. She had been searching for Artemis for a while already, and at last, the one she has been searching for appeared on her own.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Artemis quickly turned her body to shoot out a laser beam out of her hand. She was prepared, and had been releasing bits of light particles the entire time. That's why, the instant she had heard the voice of the vile woman, she immediately went for the offense approach. Against beings like her, it is always best to strike first. One can never know what hidden card the supernatural beings can have, after all. Because, unlike normal humans, supernaturals can have trump cards that are completely far from the general imagination.

The speed of the beam was as fast as light. The vile woman was therefore caught by surprise, and as a result, her body got blasted a few distances away.

Sadly, the power of the beam wasn't enough to kill her. It did make a hole through her magical clothing that covered her stomach, however, that hole was quickly repaired, since her clothing was nothing but an illusion.

"So that's why you dared to show up. You got yourself an upgrade…" The vile woman teased, after appearing a few meters near Artemis so suddenly.

Before the woman could say any other words to tease Artemis, a lasso went right over her body, and she was bounded into restriction. Again, the woman wanted to give a comment, however, before she could even do that, Artemis suddenly pulled her towards her to shut her up for good.

A wrist blade, which was aiming at the woman's head. With the amount of force that Artemis was using to pull the woman towards her, stabbing through her skull wouldn't be anything too difficult. Unfortunately, even with how fast Artemis was, the woman was able to blip away in time.

"You're becoming an anno- Ahh!"

The woman was too foolish, or perhaps too arrogant to use her mouth in front of the furious and desperate Artemis. She dared to appear right behind Artemis, much less reveal herself so openly.

As a consequence of her arrogance, she was sliced right on the throat…

*Cough*

Blood spilled itself from both her neck and mouth. The woman was finding herself in a dangerous situation. If she continues to remain careless and arrogant, she will certainly die…

*Cough*

"You… You're light contains the power of the sun. I… I can't heal fast enough." Surprise and fear was visible in the woman's face, as she uttered those words of hers.

"Good." Artemis finally said something after a while of remaining silent. She only said one word in fact, which must have been quite the disrespect for the arrogant queen of draculas.

After showing such disrespect to the woman, Artemis brought her hand back to motion so she could finish the job. That job being, to end the cause of miseries.

Artemis stabbed, but did not kill the target that she intended to. Instead of the woman, it was some insignificant guy that had been turned into a vampire. Under the woman's control, that undead guy had sprinted his way to take her place, and died in her place, doing that. Artemis's blade contained UV light. That's why the average vampire died the instant it was stabbed by such a blade…

As the corpse of the vampire fell to the ground, the woman that is supposed to be behind him, was no longer there. The woman was gone, and the vampire was nothing but a form of cover and distraction.

"You are full of tricks, human scum! I'll be back!"

Not one, but many voices saying the same sentence, was heard by Artemis. When she looked carefully to see where all of the voices had come from, she saw many vampires that were coming from every direction. Behind her, in the wide open spaces, there were a bunch of them already closing in on her, and in front of her, there were a few more bunch that were making their way through the gaps of the buildings, towards her.

"Artemis! What do we do?!"

It was the voice of Mark, who had finally stepped out of his house.

Mark asked such concern, because at the moment when he had stepped out of his house, he had found out that the place was swarming with vampires that are aiming to kill both him and Artemis.

Hearing the voice and question of Mark, Artemis yelled the words, "Try to get to the nearest airport! I've taught you enough combat skills to deal against these easy targets! Go! I'll catch up!"

Artemis was already aware of the fact that Mark had been bitten by the vile woman. The woman had told her earlier that she was too late, plus there were creatures around her that look like vampires. Also, the woman had mentioned her weakness towards the sun. With so much information, combined with the information that she was taught in her ex-organization, it was easy for Artemis to draw the dots together.

"Mark… I don't know what's so special about you, but, I'll try my best to protect you and whatever fate you have in store… Maybe that's why my instincts had told me to become your master." Artemis muttered as she stared at the back of Mark who was running for his life.

That said, she readied her weapons which she would use against the vampires…
