Sudden Attack

After reaching a thousand points, my streak continued and went through two thousand and eventually three thousand at a steady rate.

At first I started off fast but soon I started slowing down. After moving from are to area in a span of a week, I realized that this was actually my fault. It seems like the animals here knew what was dangerous and avoided me as much as they could.

I really couldn't do much about it so I had no choice but to keep moving from area to area.

Because my only option for ranged attack is a bow, I bought an ordinary Hyrulian bow worth [10CP].

I had my first tastes of the passive skill by shooting down a bird a distance away from the ground. The effects of Link's skill then came into effect as soon as I held the bow. It was a lot like my first time with the Sword skill.

I familiarized myself with that feeling through hunting and not long after, the movements became second nature.

Of course, I didn't neglect practicing with the sword. I had a feeling that I may have a long journey with it.

...

Inside a forest, two figures stood from each other.

"Hya!" My muscles exerted power to my sword with a shout and in a flash, countless after-images of my sword pieced through the three wolves in front of me.

The pack let out a growl in a they're final struggle but ultimately, they met their end.

On the other hand, I towered over their dead body with barely any signs of fatigue. I left the body alone since I didn't need it and instead took out my bow, planning to continue on.

"Haaa..." With a calm breath, I jumped from tree to tree. My eyes swept through the forest thoroughly. When I spotted a target, I would grab an arrow from my quiver and pulled pull the bow's string back all in a practiced motion. There wasn't any hesitation.

I didn't look back at corpses and instead kept my eyes open and shot any animal that entered my range.

My mouth lifted into a smile, in just an hour, I've killed around twenty animals and earned over 200 [CP].

Though I felt satisfied, my body wasn't so much so.

I looked up at the sky. The sun hung right at the middle. I've been hunting since this morning so that means I've been at it for a little over five hours.

I contemplated, I could still keep going... but I shook my head, better safe than sorry.

Just as I made that decision, I heard a small rustle to my right. My legs immediately moved and jumped back as I ran my eyes to the the sound.

I stopped and froze. My mind turned blank at the sight.

There on the bushes stood a white rabbit...

My mouth twitched. I held down the feeling of spite and let go of my sword.

Who knew that as soon as I loosened my grip on my sword, a projectile shot from god knows where and locked into me.

With no time to think, my body launched itself back once more.

The projectile, which looked like a spear dug deep into the soil due to its momentum. However, I didn't have the luxury to feel relief as there wasn't one projectile, not two, but actually...!

I couldn't see the weapons nor could I sense yet, my mind screamed danger at every direction! I grasped at the feeling, it's all I could rely on at this point.

My strength gathered to my muscles and with a show of dexterity, I pulled out the sword on my waist and blocked the projectiles.

Clink! Ting!

My eyes widened. These weapons weren't just fast... it has a crazy amount of power into it! Not to mention there were more appearing! I grit my teeth before an idea struck my mind.

I stood still for a second, yet my eyes were locked to the sword nearest to me.

"Wait..." I muttered a bit anxiously.

The sword dug itself to a millimeter to my skin when I suddenly moved to the right. Then as if the world had suddenly frozen, everything stood to a stop.

Flurry Rush!

The skill took into effect and I finally had some breather. Yet I focused once more and took in everything as fast as I could, the skill only last five seconds in my time so I used it preciously.

Two observations were made with my thoughts running as fast as it could;

First, countless bladed weapons scattered on the air around were aimed at me, be it swords, spears, knifes and were those... needles?! A sinking feeling took over me as I imagined the difficulty of dodging those...

I let out a breath and moved on with my second observation; although there seemed there was no end to it's number, the weapons I had blocked lay still on the ground so there a possibility whoever's doing this may run out of 'ammunition'.

Despite this, I can only come to one conclusion: run.

The five seconds passed in a flash with my thoughts slightly organised. As soon as the skill ended I focused all my strength into my legs and rushed away from the area, ignoring the visible strain on my muscles.

I used the trees around as cover which brought off a little pressure but at the pace that attacks are going, I ruled out my second observation. Even if whoever's doing this has limited ammunition, I'd be dead way before they ate through them!

While running, I obviously tried to find the person attacking me but I couldn't spot anyone at all.

"Tsk...!" I jumped from tree to tree without a particular direction whilst still blocking and weaving through the attacks.

I looked at my [CP] with gritted teeth, I'm still off by a few points!

Then a sudden memory came to mind "!"

...

Meanwhile, a girl with golden eyes and diminished golden hair was following Val a few meters behind.
