They had been running for a while and seemed to have finally lost their kidnappers.
"Tati, are you okay," Jack asked.
"Am fine" it was already dark and they didn't even know where they were, fully surrounded by tall trees. she looked around, "Where are we?" she asked.
"Am not sure, we just kept running I didn't have time to look around" he was huffing. She turned to him, trying to see him in all the darkness, "Are you okay you sound breathless"
"Am fine?" he said, "let's go"
She moved but could not see him, "let me hold your hand," he said. She hesitated but gave him her hand.
Slowly they kept walking until they noticed a cabin, "we are lucky, let's go see if we can get some help" he said. But Tatiana stopped pulling him back, "Don't you watch horror movies?" she said.
"Movies, what does that have to do with this?" he asked confused.
"Places like this in the woods are usually haunted, the moment we go inside we are dead," she said.
He sighed putting pressure on his abdomen, "Tati, if we don't get out of here, we will surely die by those bastard's chasing us"
"But am scared, it sure does look haunted" she cried.
"Tatiana, please. Am here with you trust me no ghost can hurt you. So please trust me" he said.
He pulled them towards the cabin and knocked when no one answered, he opened the door.
It seemed abandoned, so they walked in. He tried the switch but the power was off.
"Tatiana looks for something that can give us light" he groaned. She moved around until she bumped into a lamp, "I got a lamp but can't find a match" she said.
"Let me try" he moved around, "Okay bring it here," he said. With a few tries they had light. She looked around still scared.
"Let's rest for now, after the distance we ran they can't catch up to us for a while," he said.
She sighed, finding a free cobweb chair to seat in.
Jack groaned again, "Are you hurt, why are you making that sound?" she asked.
"Little but I will be fine," he said
"Huh really" she moved closer to him using the lamp to check him.
"Am fine Tati," he said pulling his shirt down, but she pulled hurting him instead, he groaned in pain giving up.
"Oh my God, your bleeding is a gunshot wound," she said checking his wound.
"I think I got hurt while we ran away from the bullets" he chuckled
"Are you laughing, this is serious" she cried.
"Am fine, just a little pressure on it and I can hold on until morning?" he said
