Mayor's interlude

Mayor lina was pacing the floor backstage as she waited for a report from the security guards she'd assigned to the student they had to tackle to the ground earlier.

'This is going wrong. It's all going wrong. Why does this happen every single time we have this ceremony?

"She mentally asked herself in an attempt to avoid her mild panic."

'Is there something wrong with me? Is it the kids? Maybe their parents? Well, that would explain SOME of the issues but that doesn't expl-'

"The lonely spinster cried to the heavens as to why all seemed to fall apart like the shriveled dust of her social life."

'Actually, why does everything fall apart? And why does it seem to get harder every single time it happens? Is my life some kind of game that somehow gets harder with every challenge? Am I secretly in some kind of game and my entire world has been a lie this entire time ?! And what does-'

"And so, the steaming hot fey she sent to tell her about the sad boy with the tiny wings returned. As his flittering wings danced across the air she realized that business was the last thing on her mind."

"Oh my gosh, Vivianna. If you do not shut up, I will go over there and strangle you with that ridiculous scarf you wear you flappy b-"

She threatened with righteous anger at her assistant.

"Whadaya mean ma'am?"

She said with a nonchalant expression as she wrote something on her clipboard.

"Just trying to keep us on schedule. We still have to go take care of that kid, finish up the ceremony, make sure the test is working properly, monitor said test, make sure they leave on time, take care of those that don't want to leave, and deal with all the parents and students who are upset they or their charge didn't pass."

She stopped writing and tilted her head. A realization seemed to dawn upon her face, before she continued scribbling.

"And your caramel macchiato will be arriving in fifteen minutes."

Despite having gone through this before many times, she flaps her jaw trying to decide what to say. With a heavy sigh, she asks with a tired voice.

"Did you get it how I like it?"

"Yes."

"Strawberries and extra-"

She replies once more, slightly annoyed.

"Yes, I got you your grudge coffee"

She instantly brightens up at that.

"Great! I can't wait to shove all those pics down his slimy throat."

She begins cackling evilly at the thought.

Vivianna looks at her skeptically and raises an eyebrow.

"You really need to let go girl."

She said stretching the 'really' to make her point.

The mayor turns around and snaps at her assistant.

"If he can rub it in that he can go inside a house without going to the hospital! I think I have the right to shove nut pics up his face!"

Viv looked at the mayor with a sly smile.

"Well, if you want nuts."

She screamed at her assistant.

"Not those kinds of nuts you-"

She hears a raspberry go off behind her.

Ever so slowly, she turns around to see that Corp was back. He stood as still as a statue. He had his mouth covered with one hand. The other was holding his stomach while pressing his clipboard against his side. His eyes were wide with horror.

They stood there for a few moments, staring at each other. Both mortified that they were caught in the act.

"I told you that that steaming hunk of a fey was here mayor."
