I think my body is back to the way it was now. It was creepy seeing my blood slowly fill up those containers as I did feel my body grow light a few times, but I'm glad that it looks to be all over now. Soon, Charlotte and I arrive back at the foyer as we both sit down on a couch together. I guess now we're just waiting for Lisa?

"How you feeling?" Charlotte is quick to ask the question.

"Pfft." I couldn't help but chuckle at her though. She's seen deal with wounds all this time yet she still worries. "I'm okay."

"That's good. I was worried that they might've been trying something behind my back."

"Well, I did feel a bit light headed before, but I'm fine now."

"Haah~ Okay."

"Ah! You two have finished up?"

And just like that, coming from behind one of the corners was none other than Lisa. Although she does have someone with her. The same lady in glasses and a white coat that visited us that one time.

"Yeah." Charlotte replies as the woman in glasses smiles my way. She's the only person other than Charlotte or Lisa than doesn't seem to fear me. Is it because of Lisa? "How was things on your end?"

"Was just submitted my report, along with making sure this next weekend is free for me."

"You were in a rush just to free up that time? Pfft."

"Hey, now that I'm in charge I have quite a lot on my plate now. Who knows when they'll make plans for me during the weekend."

"Well, actually, Major Frigg did have some things to look over, but I've been given permission to oversee those matters." The woman in glasses joins the conversation.

"Thank you again for that."

"Not a problem, Major."

The woman seems to really appreciate Lisa. it almost reminds me of how I see Charlotte.

"Well then, shall we go?"

"Nn!"

We quickly leave the facility as we begin driving back home to Lisa place. Just like before, Lisa chose to drive with Charlotte taking the passenger seat while I take the back seat.

"So? How was the tests?"

"Mmmm... We didn't really get anywhere, but at least we now know that Shiro has no biases for certain mana."

I simply overhear the two of them talking as I look out the window. Just looking up at the sky, it looks to be getting quite cloudy. Maybe it might rain again?

"Well we can knock out any species that specializes in certain magic."

"Yeah, the Captain said the same thing."

"It was worth a shot though. Did you manage to get the results from him?"

"Yeah. Shiro's mana concentration is roughly 45%."

"Huh..."

The talk seemed to be going smoothly until Charlotte brought up my mana, which Lisa seemed to drop her tone a bit. Is 45% bad?

"What?" Charlotte, also sensing the change in Lisa's voice, questions Lisa as she drives.

"Normally one's mana would stabilize around 40% or lower. 45 is on the high end."

"Yeah, but that could just be because Shiro's a hybrid."

"True, but I've also been working with the research division on and off over the years, even before Shiro was brought in."

"And?"

"Well I'm fairly certain that Shiro's mana concentration was 45% back when she was first brought in as well."

At Lisa's words, I could see Charlotte's eyes widen slightly, almost as if she's shocked to hear it. I however have no idea what any of this really means. So I decide to finally speak up.

"Uhm. Is that bad?" At my question, Charlotte looks to the back towards me.

"It's not bad, but it is a bit abnormal."

"Abnormal?"

"What Charlotte means is that normally, when a person is born, their mana is quite rich, hovering around 45-50%. When you grow older, specifically around five years old, your mana settles down to it's normal state, which is usually always lower than when you were a baby."

"I... I'm not really understanding."

"Basically, your mana is still treating your body as if you were a baby."

Wait, so then would that make me a baby then? I know I've been living in darkness for most of my life, so I never knew what I looked like, but I'm fairly certain that my body isn't that of a baby, especially after going out in public and seeing small children walking around with their parents.

"Wait, couldn't that be because she's half vampire?" Charlotte, after thinking for a moment, voices a question towards Lisa.

"Actually it's the opposite. Vampires, especially ruler class vampires, their mana matures much faster than other species, similar to dragons. So I don't think it's that. Besides, Charlotte, you were flinging magic around when you were very little. I still remember the countless times I had to clean up after you."

"Sorry, hehe. But then if it's not because of Shiro's vampire side, then it's her other half?"

"We can't draw that conclusion yet. Sure it sounds correct, but it could also be how her two halves are interacting that leading to this result."

"So you're basically saying that we've gotten nowhere..."

"Fufu. I wouldn't say that. We found out that Shiro's mana is in an immature state. Ah, but I guess maybe that could also be because of that... Yeah, we've gotten nowhere, haha."

"Haah!~" Charlotte slumps back in her seat as we finally reach the bottom of the hill.

"Hey, at least we're getting on the right track."

"I suppose..."

It makes me happy to hear how much Charlotte and Lisa cares for me, going as far as to figure out who my mother was for me, but I feel as though Charlotte is more interesting in learning than I am. But after hearing the two of them talk like this, it doesn't seem like we're anywhere near close in figuring out what exactly I am. Oh well! At least Lisa seems to have got the week end free so we can do this swimming thing together. Just thinking about doing something together as one big group is putting a smile on my face.
