Going Against Insectoids

The insectoid screeched, excitement evident as it lifted Crax high, ready to feast.

"Roar!" A tiger's roar, filled with fury and sorrow, echoed through the junkyard. A streak of white light zipped across the distance, and in a flash, the insectoid's limb holding Crax was severed by Arix's swift claw.

Arix quickly shifted into his human form, catching Crax as he fell.

"Who... who are you?" Crax struggled to lift his head, trying to make out Arix through his blood-drenched vision. He coughed up more blood, his strength fading fast.

Before Arix could respond, Crax's eyes widened. "Watch out!" he shouted, but then he saw it was unnecessary. A psychic power shield enveloped them both, blocking the insectoid's attacks.

"Uncle Crax, it's me, Arix. Stay still; I'll heal your wounds." Arix formed a psychic sword and cut off the remaining insectoid limb from Crax's wound.
