"What do you mean?" he snapped.
Sensing a hint of rage in his tone, Emily rephrased her statement, saying, "What I mean to say is that we can not control what is written in our fate, and if our separation was supposed to happen, then it will happen anyway."
"But this isn't fate's doing; Cassandra planned to sabotage our relationship and for that, I am never going to forgive her." Edric declared, putting an end to the conversation.
Emily, on the other hand, sighed. It wasn't like she was going to ask him to forgive Cassandra. She would not spare her this time, not unless she was held accountable for her actions. But all she wanted was for Edric to quit blaming himself.
"Okay, stop arguing and follow me now. I will brew you some coffee." Emily changed the topic to ease Edric's mind, but he simply shook his head.
"I'll have to leave. Mom must have arrived at the hospital by now."
