"Not again..." A young man in his twenties was standing in the middle of a room and was looking upwards where a silhouette of a man surrounded by a black smoke was crawling on the wall like a lizard. Upon seeing that, he sighed and left the room. These kinds of things were a daily occurrence to him since childhood.

He was able to see supernatural beings which can't be seen through a normal eye. He doesn't know how he got this strange ability but he got used to it as he grew up. He even started talking to some ghosts as they couldn't leave him alone. Then, it became a habit of him to talk to them and to normal people, it would seem like he was talking to himself like a crazy person. Hence, no kids would go near him to talk and he was treated differently by others. As a result, he became a loner.

His mother died when he was young and his father left him soon after. Basically, he was an orphan. The only family he got were relatives. Although he was a hindrance to them, they had to take him in unwillingly. But he didn't last for long with any of them. He had to move from places to places since they would throw him out less than a month later. All because of his strange behaviour. In the end, he was sent to an orphanage by them since no one wanted an oddball in their house.

He walks towards his bedroom. Once he gets in his bedroom, he lie on the single sized bed and shut his eyes. He begins to reminiscing about his past.

His family is quite strange now that he thinks about it. His mother, Ayumu Katsuo, she was a very kind and cheerful woman but she was also quite short tempered according to his relatives. His mother was quite the opposite of his father.

Takeru Katsuo, that's his father's name. He's a man with few words. He never speaks unless he needs to. Sometimes he wonders how they met.

Takeru barely pays attention to him ever since Ayumu, his mother died from cancer. Haruki was 5 years old when his mother died. He was nothing but a naive child.

Takeru took care of him until he was 8 years old but after that he passed Haruki to his aunt to take care of him. He didn't explain the reason why did he left him with his aunt and he didn't ask him why. He knew that his father needed some space. He bid farewells to the little creatures and ghosts, who he had befriended, and to his father, before he left with his aunt.

His moment recalling those memories soon halted focusing to the present. He opens his eyelids, revealing silver grey eye. A smile forms on his face, humourless laugh escapes his mouth.

Once he's gone, everybody will forget everything about him, just as the prophecy foretold. He sighs at his thoughts. What had he done to deserve this fate? Why is he able to see them when other humans don't? Why can he hears them and touch them as if they exist when other humans can't? Is it a curse? He will never know the answer.

"What are you thinking about Haruki?" A foreign voice asks him. The raven haired man lets out a disgraceful shriek and fall out of the bed, laughing noises can be heard in the background.

"Don't just come out of nowhere, Yotsu!" Haruki yelled. Yotsu snickers at his expression. "You shriek like a girl you know!" another foreign voice exclaimed. Haruki's face flushes in embarrassment.

Haruki grabs the nearest object, which is a pillow, and he throws the pillow at Yotsu who burst out laughing. The pillow hits Yotsu's face. Haruki glares at Yotsu who was hit and yell at him

"Don't laugh!"

Unfortunately, the laughing doesn't stop but instead it becomes louder and more ghosts and creatures joined laughing at him. Haruki huffs in annoyance; but then a small smile crept to his face. The gloomy atmosphere is now gone, he realizes that Yotsu wants to cheer up his mood.

Once the laughing fades away, Haruki sighs softly, he pick himself up from the ground and head to his study table. He grabs a book from the bookshelf on the study table; he reaches a pen and starts to write."Working on your story again, Haruki?" A tengu appears beside him. Haruki hummed as a response.

[Tengu is a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion. They are considered a type of yokai or Shinto Kami. The tengu were originally thought to take the forms of bird of prey and monkey deity and they are traditionally depicted with human, monkey and avian characteristic - Wikipidea]

"What are you going to write, Haruki?" Yotsu ask while peeking over his shoulder.

"I'm writing about how we all first met, starting from you, Yotsu." Haruki replied.

"Eh?! Me? "Yotsu ask in disbelief. "Yeah, you're the first mythical creature that I made friends with and you're the most annoying creature I have ever met."

"I'm not annoying!" Yotsu yelled at Haruki but Haruki ignores Yotsu and continue to write.

'I hope this moment stays forever...' Haruki thought to himself and smile sadly.
