She was anxious by the thought that her husband to be is a complete stranger but what was making her more anxious is the uneasy vibe that her parents gave her when they talk about her upcoming marriage. Is there something that her parents hide from her? "If you're hesitant to let him marry me, then just don't let him marry me" she uttered. On the contrary, Jan felt awkward because he's being surrounded by his classmates, some asked his number, some gave him chocolates, some gave him cards, and they were giggling like teenagers but Jan courteously refused their advances towards him. In an instant, Jan gained popularity. He became one of the most admired men in the campus. He didn't know that his fame would cause Jean Mary's heartbreak.

Meanwhile, Jean Mary was dejected and it can be seen on her face.

Since Shane was just observing Jean Mary, she approached her to build "friendship".

"Hello there Jean Mary, how are you?" Jean Mary knew that Shane Princeton was Kaye's cohorts in bullying her so she was agitated.

Seeing that Jean Mary is hesitant towards her, she instantaneously asked apology for their previous clashes. "I am here to apologize Jean Mary for being a bully towards you. It was all Kaye's doing and we could not refuse. You know that if you do not follow her, she will make your school life difficult."

Being a nice and pure at heart, Jean Mary's heart softened. She smiled towards Shane and extended her hands for handshake as a sign that she accepts her apology. "Hmmm... I understand, and I didn't take to heart all the bad things that Kaye did to me. For me, she's not that bad, she's just misunderstood." She said.

"Thank you Jean Mary. We felt guilty for all the bad things we did to you." Shane said.

Jean Mary reminisced all the things that Kaye and her friends did to her. When they were in first year, she put food left overs to her bag, she was laughed at by her classmates but Anne aided her. Kaye even replaced her chair with a faulty one that caused her an accident. She was nominated too as the campus bell but Kaye sabotaged her. There were many horrible things that Kaye did and she was the victim but she decided to bury it in her unconscious mind specially now that Kaye is dead. Until now, the mystery of Kaye's death remains unresolved. What a poor soul. She thought. Since, she decided to forgive Kaye, Jean Mary opened her heart and now she's ready to accept new friends in her life. "It's alright. Let's just forget about it and start a new."

Shane hugged Jean Mary. Unfortunately, Jean Mary didn't see the malicious smile Shane had with her friends. After that, Jean Mary went back to her room and told Anne what happened.

"Do you trust them Jean? I can't believe that after all they did to you, you actually chose to befriend that nasty group." Anne was so disappointed in her.

"Let bygones, be bygones Anne." She said.

"I don't trust them. What if it's just one of their schemes to do something towards you?" She was worried.

"She apologized to me and I think she's sincere." Jean Mary replied.

"Sincere? In what part?" Anne questioned her.

"It was all Kaye's idea, all the things they did." She defended Shane.

"Fine. Just don't come to me regretting." Anne told her firmly.

"We cannot judged them Anne, besides, I've already forgiven her. Bless her soul." Jean Mary explained.

"I see." Anne resigned from their light argument. She knew that Jean Mary is soft hearted and a person who easily forgives unlike her who is suspicious. It's hard to gain her trust. To cut their unpleasant topic, Anne asked her to accompany her to the library because they have a quiz tomorrow morning. Jean Mary thought that she needed to study. She couldn't focus for the past weeks and her grades were affected already.

Grand saw them at the library but Jean Mary ignored him as a sign of her respect to Anne's feelings. Grand noticed that Jean Mary was indifferent towards him so he approached Anne. Anne slightly was moved by Grand's action and she felt happy. Seeing Anne's reaction, Jean Mary agreed to let Grand share a table with them.

"Thanks Jean." Grand smiled. He was about to sit next to Jean but Jean was faster, she put her bag to the empty seat beside her. Grand had no choice but to sit beside Anne. Anne knew that Jean Mary did it on purpose.

Grand knew that Jean Mary was trying to play cupid for him and Anne. But he doesn't like Anne. He felt depressed for days too now that Jean Mary will soon marry Jan Reynolds. His heart aches with so much pain. But his thoughts were interrupted by Jean's voice.

"Anne, did you listen well from the earlier's discussion? I cannot understand this part." She asked Anne but it was Grand who had answered her.

"You have to convert this to value to attain the value of x..." Grand interrupted.

Jean Mary felt shy to Anne. She looked her in the eye apologizing. Anne could only give her a sad smile.

Grand was excited that he didn't notice that his voice became loud. Hence, the librarian reprimanded them.

Jean Mary was thankful because Grand had no choice but to go back to his seat. She contemplated the fact that ever since Jan Reynolds appearance, everything changed in her life. She miss her life before, she miss her parents.

She went home that day early. She didn't even finish her class for that day and went to her old home.

"Mom! Dad!" She called.

Her parents came rushing towards her. "What are you doing here? Why are you here?" Her mom was worried.

"Does Jan Reynolds knew that you came here?" Her dad asked.

"No." She answered. "Don't you miss me?" She's very sad.

"Of course we miss you." Her parents told her.

"Then why aren't you excited to see me?" She asked.

"We just don't like you to cause any misunderstanding to the Reynolds." They said.

"Mom, Dad, Jan isn't a bad person. He wouldn't misunderstand." She defended him.

"We hope so." Her parents told her.

"Yes, and I want to remind you that my wedding is in just a few days from now. I hope you would go there."

"We'll see my darling." Jean Mary's parents just look at each other's eye with meaningful look.
