Sarah's POV:
I was still not over the fact that Nel stole my design; I will hiss every five minutes when I think about it.
There was a knock on the door, and I raised my head to find Jacob standing there. "So, about that coffee?"
"We could have coffee in Elma's office," I suggested, and he thought for a while before nodding.
So he sat facing me, and I called Unise to get us coffee.
"What did Elma do to convince you?" He suddenly asked.
"Uh?" I got confused by his question.
"I mean, did she offer you money to be her?"
"She offered something important, and it doesn't matter. I am in already."
"You shouldn't have," Jacob said, and I frowned. What does he mean by that?
"I thought you were on Elma's side."
"I am; that's why I wanted her to face her responsibilities instead of running away. When I told her about you, I was expecting her to confirm if you were both related and not use you."
"She is your friend; shouldn't you know her better?" I sneered, and just then Unise walked in with two cups of coffee on a tray; she placed one in front of me, and I sighed in relief, seeing that it was not cocoa coffee.
When she left, Jacob crouched closer to me. "I will offer you double the amount; take it and leave for good," he stated, and I was taken aback by his proposal.
"Uhm, am I interrupting something?" Anthony's voice echoed from the door. We both turned and saw him leaning by the door, then he walked in and sat next to Jacob.
"Did you tell her about the proposal? Or you had different things to talk about?" He asked in a sarcastic tone, and my mind went off. Was he the one who asked Jacob to propose such to me? Did Jacob tell him about me or what?
I sipped from my cup of coffee; I didn't even take note of how hot it was until it burned my tongue. "Ouch."
"Be careful," Jacob said, and I nodded before raising a brow.
"What proposal?"
"Oh, it's about the KC event. The leaders of the KC event have to accept an exclusive interview, and then after the interview, we will interview the two leads of the event, which are probably Anthony and someone else," he explained.
"And Nel." I finished his sentence, it was obvious that Nel was more important than Elma in this event.
"It depends on Anthony, and all the kid celebrities signed under me will partake in the modeling event; imagine Joyce Brown in one of your collections." He made it sound interesting.
And I knew about the kid Joyce Brown; she was a social media influencer with over a million followers. All she does is smile and wink at the camera, and her cuteness makes her gain a lot of followers.
"So, are you in? Elma "It felt weird how he calls me Elma; it's like he was trying to irritate me.
"No comments," after all, I wasn't Elma, and I had to confirm with her if she was in.
"It's a deal then; it was nice doing business with you all," he said, standing up and extending his hand for a handshake.
"Don't be so formal; you both can do the huggy or kissy stuff. Just do your thing," Anthony sneered before walking out. My eyes widened in shock. Not a day passes by without this man showing me the jerky side of him.
"Consider my proposal; I am willing to do the transfer now." Jacob switched back to our first topic.
"What Elma offered me is something you could have done earlier without anyone asking, so I don't need your money." The rich are just so greedy; they make a lot of money and squander it on meaningless stuff. Did they forget the act of charity?
"I tried my best, when things gets rough. I will still be here to help." With that said, he left my office.
*
It was evening, and I was done with work. I stood in front of the office waiting for the driver when I received a message from Elma's mom reminding me of the dinner. I had completely forgotten about it and didn't even tell Anthony about it.
"Your driver isn't here yet," Nel asked as she walked closer to me. I ignored her and concentrated on my phone, hoping that she would take the hint and leave.
"Have you heard about the offer from Martinez Entertainment?" She questioned me, and I breathed heavily, and then she gasped in disbelief.
"Of course, you have heard; I mean you and Jacob Martinez are this close." Nel intertwined her fingers, demonstrating how close we are.
"Do you have anything reasonable to say? Let's start with how much of a thief you are," I asked and she chuckled. Then I activated the recording sound on my phone.
"It's my design; aren't you tired of always trying to steal what's mine?"
"You know it's not yours."
"Do you have any proof?"
This woman was so irritating that I frowned at her and turned to leave when she blocked my path. Then she came closer before whispering, "Anthony and I already made plans; after your divorce, he will be mine."
How words didn't affect me; if only she knew how desperate Elma was to divorce Anthony, she wouldn't brag about it.
"Be smart," I advised her before Jude finally parked the car in front of me and I walked in.
"Good evening, ma'am," he said, and I nodded before closing my eyes and dozing off.
Minutes later, the car door pulled open, and I found Jude standing there. "We are here, ma'am," he said, and I looked around.
That's when I noticed we were not back home; this place looked familiar... We were at Elma's parents home. "Here?"
"Yes, master said I should bring you here."
"When you say master, who are you referring to?"
"Mr. Wistold, I already brought the kids here." Did Elma's mom inform Anthony as well?
"And where is he?" If I remember correctly, I left the office before him. Just then, a car pulled in, and he walked down before walking past me.
"Let's have this pretentious moment and leave as soon as possible," he snorted, and he didn't even wait for me.
