Resumen

Deen, a seven year old boy, arrives in Korea with his mother Mia. With a strong determination to raise her son properly, Mia ensures Deen lacks no love in his life. In her spare time, Mia is a huge fangirl of the Korean boy group, TNT. But in an unexpected twist of fate, the mother-son duo end up being the neighbors of D3, another legendary boy group, which happens to be TNT's biggest rival. D3 consists of the short tempered Taewon, gentle Joon Jae and the goofy Jan. On top of that, Mia is hired as the personal designer for TNT, which consists of the charismatic leader Soo-Yon and the playboy maknae Cheng. Despite the rocky start, Mia and her son grow closer to all the members of both the groups. With time, the members realize they have fallen in love with the same woman, disrupting each group's dynamics. Furthermore, the origins of the hostility between the two groups resurface, making everyone involved question the decision they made a decade ago. As secrets unfold, the members vie for Mia's affections, Deen observes that she has eyes only for one of them. But which one of them will she choose? Note: Please note that the cover is not my original one. This is simply a random fanart I got on the internet. I'll upload an original cover as soon as its ready! Thank you for understanding.

Chapter 1Deen-That song again?

'That song again?' I rolled my eyes in exasperation.

She was probably listening to that annoying song for the hundredth time. Seriously, does she not get tired of listening to the same band over and over again? Mee took the headphones out of her ears.

'I can't help it,' she exclaimed. 'It's my favorite song!'

'Yeah but you don't have to cry every time you listen to it,' I replied. 'It's embarrassing.'

She gave me an incredulous look. 'Kid, you're seven,' she scowled. 'You're way too young to understand the deep meaning behind the lyrics.'

'Says the 20 something year old who doesn't even understand the song's language,' I said sarcastically.

'In my defense, I know the meaning of their Korean songs and this one is Japanese!'

'You didn't even know Korean till last year!'

'Kid, at least I passed the test with distinction.'

'Yes,' I said. 'And then you found out that most of those songs' lyrics make no sense.'

Mee crossed her arms and pouted. Why are adults so childish? Or it was probably just Mee. She can be quite the drama queen. I was glad to be a kid.

Mee checked her watch. We had been standing outside the airport for over fifteen minutes with our luggage. The five hour flight was exhausting and worse, it was really chilly outside. I was wearing three layers of clothes and I was still shivering badly. I rubbed my hands for warmth. Mee put another scarf around me.

'Stand close by,' she said.

'So, where's the lady who was supposed to pick us up?' I whined. 'It's cold! I'm free-ee-zing.'

'Not sure,' Mee said checking her watch again.

Mee's teacher, Professor Ahn, gave her the contact details of some lady called Mrs. Jung after she got a job at a Korean company. Mrs. Jung had an empty house which she wanted to rent out. Mee immediately contacted her. It took a while for them to reach a settlement on rent, but it all worked out. Strangely, things always worked out for us. Somehow.

'She was supposed to be here by now,' Mee said, looking a bit concerned. 'Oh, there she comes.'

She pointed at a large middle aged woman wearing an oversized hat and bright pink dress. She was waving at us. To me, she looked like a pink frog. Yes. A pink frog. I was a kid with wild imagination. Sue me. Mee picked up our bags and motioned me to follow her closely.

'Annyeongaseo,' Mee said in Korean, bowing down. 'I am Mia. Are you Mrs. Jung?'

'Oh,' the woman said in surprise. 'You speak Hangul well.' Clearly, she did not expect Mee to know the language.

'Deen,' Mee whispered. 'Say hello!'

'Anneyeong,' I greeted.

'Hello little one,' the woman said fondly. 'What is your name?'

'Deen,' I replied. 'Thank you for having us. Please take care of us.'

I bowed down to her politely.

'I see you two are well behaved,' Mrs. Jung said in appreciation. 'The last tenants were just terrible. They couldn't even behave properly! Such a rude bunch. No respect for our culture.'

'To us, it is very important to properly learn the customs of the country we are about to live in,' Mee said with a wide smile. 'Thank you for having us.'

'Don't worry about it,' Mrs. Jung replied. 'Any friend of Professor Ahn is welcome. And gracious, you two must be tired. I have a cab waiting for us. Let me take you to your new home.'

'Thank you,' Mee said. 'Come on champ,' she said to me in English. 'Let's go.'

Big Hit's New Girl Group: I'm a K-Pop Star?!

**Important Note: This is about a fictional OC girl surviving in the music industry and set in real, modern times. ** ------------------------------------------------------- Synopsis: BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan, Bulletproof Boy Scouts, Beyond The Scene. The idol group had various names, but to Iris, BTS would forever be her inspiration, both in music and in life. She had first encountered them by accident during BTS’s American Hustle Life. Curious and smitten by the adorably awkward boys who couldn’t speak English very well, she later discovered that they were K-pop idols. Upon discovering K-pop, she realized her passion for singing and dancing. She joined the Korean Culture Club at her university and participated in K-pop dance covers. But as a practical girl, she never pursued music seriously. As a second generation American to Thai and Chinese parents, she felt a responsibility to graduate college and be a successful businesswoman. But BTS was the wildcard in her life. When she fatefully met them again during their Wings world tour, her life would never be the same again. Tossed into the brutal world of K-pop, she became somehow became a Big Hit trainee! ------------------------------------------------------- Genres: Fan Fiction, (side) Romance Fiction Question: Why is this listed as Realistic Fiction instead of Fan Fiction? 1) The MC is Iris Huang, a fictional character along with her family and the other Big Hit trainees. Any k-pop idols included in this story are secondary leads. 2) BTS are not the only k-pop included in this story; thus, this is more of a k-pop fanfic if anything. With that said, they are more integral to the story than the others. But because this story began as an entry into the BTS writing competition, I have since after its end gotten some hate for writing it merely due to BTS fanfics swamping the Fan Fiction section. (I really don't see the case for it because the top popular fan fics listed only showed 3 BTS fan fics including mine much lower down the browsing results. But with the contest, the sudden influx probably messed up the New section.) In short, imagine this as a fictional story that's realistic in being set in the modern world and time with real-life people's names. This story was never completely about BTS, it was about Iris surviving in the music industry. It's like saying a fantasy story can't also be a romance; even though, the story may be listed under Fantasy as the main genre. 3) I see stories on here not listed as fan fiction when they're based on TV shows and series, and the story MC is clearly the MC of that original show. Since I think my story follows Realistic Fiction more than as a BTS fan fiction since it isn't totally centered around them, I changed it two weeks after the competition ended. Additionally, now no one can complain about their favorite fan fiction being overrun by BTS ones.... I don't want to inadvertently add to the hate that BTS receives for stupid reasons like this. ------------------------------------------------------- Note about the realism in this book: All of the realism is to allow readers to be able to insert themselves as the MC as if living this reality for real in the modern world. I hope to share BTS's inspirational message to love yourself. May you gain the strength to also believe in yourself and follow your dreams~! Please support the continuation of this story by voting, and enjoy reading! (: TAGS: Music, Idols, Modern Day, Celebrities, Female Lead, Inspirational, Romance, Fan Fiction, BTS, K-pop
