Hair Tie

The team building when well so I headed home after that. I was glad that the traffic wasn't that bad so I was able to arrive before dinner time. I took the keys out of my pocket then turned on the know. I could hear the sounds that I missed being away for two nights. Kenji's cooing on his crib while Sachie was slicing something in the kitchen.

"Hey Reeve how was the event?" While she continues on chopping.

I looked over the crib where Kenji was playing by himself. "It was good!" I chimed. "How's my boy?" I poked his tummy and then he laughed at me. "I missed you!" I wanted to carry him right away but I wanted to change my clothes first since I came outside.

"I'll be back" I placed a box of delicacies on thr table and went to my room and changed to my roundneck shirt and shorts.

"Hey Sachie I brought some snacks its on the table" I took Kenji from the crib and played with him. Those two nights were too long. I missed this baby really.

"The resort was good by the way. Glad that I was able to join the activities"

"Why? Are you always part of the committee?"

"Yeah for three years in a row. Good thing they let the resort's team building team handle it."

"Good. How was the resort?"

"It has a beach and pool too. Their team building facility was on a separate island so we had to take a boat for couple of minutes."

"That's cool"

"And you know at the end of the of the activities we were able to send some baby turtles back to see. I'll let you see the videos later."

I looked at her direction and noticed that she was somehow bothered by her hair. I brought Kenji back to the crib and approached her.

"Would you like me to tie your hair?" I was already on her back when I asked.

"Yeah please... Oh I mean no. I'll just get a tie in my room." She was a bit hesitant. I took the tie on my hair. Well my hair has gotten longer so I had to tie it or make it into a bun most of the times cause its too troublesome since it's getting on the way.

"I'll tie your hair so stay still" she turned her head sideways avoiding my hand. "It's okay Reeve. Anyway I'll just have to finish chopping these and then I'll go and tie it."

"Don't look at me. Turn around" I commanded. She glared at me for a while before turning back to her chopping board.

"Stay still. I'll tie it for you." I carefully gathered her hair and placed some behind her hair to make sure it doesn't get in the way. After making sure that I got all her hair in my other hand I removed the tie that I placed on my wrist. She was a bit frozen from her spot I can sense it. I tied everything after making several loops and made sure it's secured.

"It's done" She moved her head a little so a part of it moved.

"Thanks Reeve" her voice was little lower but I can still hear it. "You're welcome" was my reply.

"What's for dinner?" I asked after peeking at all the ingredients she were chopping.

"Sinigang na baboy" Pork in sour broth.

I like her cooking. It's a nice feeling where you'll be welcome with home cooking after a working for long hours. How long has it been since I've had this? I've been living alone for quite sometime.

So this is how it feels when you get home for dinner. I can't help but smile.

We talked over dinner. I shared her more stories of our team building. She was listening and at the same time reminiscing on some of their activities before as well.

I offered to wash the dishes but she refused. She said that I should be resting so I offered to put Kenji to sleep. It's kinda rare for me to get home in the evening after work because I usually get home in the morning.

Her laugh is so infectious. I like the thought that I can make her laugh. I want to see her happy even if like this. I can't ask for more than anything for now. Just being with them is enough I guess. I don't want this to end just because I will be making things awkward. Anyway we still have time and I have to sort out everything. No need to rush just take our time and enjoy everything.

I can hear him singing Kenji a song while putting him to sleep. His voice was good. What song is he singing? I heard it over the radio.

I was washing the dishes when he sang. I can't help but chuckle. Why is he singing an upbeat song as a lullaby? Yeah this is a crazy life. Who would have thought that this will happen to me? Yeah now I remember the title of the song it's "Everything" by Michael Bublé.

I found myself singing with him. I looked at him and he smiled while continuing the song. I don't know how Kenji will sleep but it seems like Kenji is singing with us.

Yes it's through this crazy life that I was able to meet both of you.

And these crazy times that I get to enjoy with both of you is so priceless.

I looked at his face and his hair swayed as he danced with Kenji. It's crazy I know but...
