Blue's POV

"Wear this."

I accepted the earpiece from Theo and faced Nicholas who went to me carrying a bulletproof vest. He wore it to me while I stared at his face. He looked so worried and scared for me.

"I'll be fine," I said, trying to calm him down.

He shook his head and cupped my face. "You can't blame me. I know what she's capable of. She will hurt you."

"I can protect myself."

"What if—"

I cut him off by pressing my lips against his lips. He froze and stared into my eyes. I hugged him, resting my cheek on his chest while caressing his back. "You're with me, Nicholas. Not physically, but you're with me. So, I'm strong."

"But this is making me so weak, Blue."

"Shh!" I pulled away from the hug and cupped his cheeks. "No buts, Nicholas. Don't worry, okay? I can handle myself."

He nodded. "I asked for help from Logan Smith. He will be there to keep you safe."

"Logan Smith?"
