Blue/Ava's POV

I woke up early in the morning and found Mr. Sanford's car in the same place as last night. My forehead creased after I saw someone lying on the hood of the car.

Who's that? What the…

I pressed my lips together and went out of the house. I walked towards the car and realized that it was Ricci who kept on hitting himself, probably because of mosquitos.

I bit my bottom as I approached Ricci. He felt my presence for some reason. He quickly sat on the hood and rubbed his eyes. "Miss Ava…"

"Why are you sleeping here?"

He pressed his lips together and glanced at the windshield. The car is heavily tinted, so I can't see what's inside but realization suddenly hit me. Ricci wouldn't be here if Mr. Sanford is inside the house.

My lips parted in shock. "He's still inside?"

I looked at Ricci again and he nodded. "Yes, Miss Ava. He refused to come out last night."

"You should've insisted."

"He locked the door. I can't break the window. He'll get mad."
