Her hero

After the former Head Warden passed the duty to Felix, Felix and the other wardens escorted him out till the prison gate.

Before he entered the black sedan car that was waiting for him, the other wardens all bowed down their heads to give their final respect towards him.

He nodded his head in satisfaction and entered the car.

As the car drove away from the gate, the car window slid down and the former head warden waved his hand.

Felix and the others watched as the car drove away until it left their sight.

"Go back to your duty," Felix gave his first order to the wardens.

Everyone gave him a salute and went back to their duties.

"Deputy Ho," Felix called out to Trent, "May I speak with you?" he asked.

Trent nodded his head and walked towards Felix. Felix gestured for Trent to walk with him, and Trent followed him to enter the building.

"I hope you don't hold a grudge towards me, I know you were supposed to take over the Head Warden position," Felix said while they walked together.

Shaking his head, "no. I'm not. Don't worry about it," replied Trent with a smile.

"Thank you. In that case, I hope to work alongside you. As you know, I'm not from this line before, I hope you can lend your helping hand to me," said Felix and halted their steps to extend his hand to Trent.

Trent received Felix's extended hand and shook it firmly ,"I'll do my best," he said, "If there's nothing else. I'll go back to my work," he added.

Felix dismissed Trent, as he had nothing else to say to the latter.

Giving a salute to Felix, Trent walked towards the other way from where Felix was heading. The two men walked in the opposite direction until both of them stopped in their tracks.

Trent was stopped by other wardens, who asked him what Felix wanted from him.

As for Felix, his track stopped when he heard a crashing sound. He dashed towards where the sound came from and it led him to the private visitation room.

"You B*tch! I'll make you pay for what you've done today!"

He heard someone shout from inside the room.

Without further ado, he barged in, breaking the door, as twisting the doorknob would just alert the people inside.

"Help me!"

Hearing the girl's call for aid, Felix yanked the huge belly man away from her and sent him flying into the air before crashing down on the floor. He then landed a punch on the warden, who was holding Jasmine down on the table.

What happened next, you already know.

When Trent was stopped by his fellow wardens, they watched Felix's back walking away. They saw how Felix suddenly stopped and barged inside the visitation room. Wonder what prompted Felix to do that, they came to look at what had happened.

It was Trent and the other warden who had come in after Felix had beaten the two men.

Trent watched as Jasmine pounced on Felix, tightly held on to him and cried on his chest.

Felix's hand was awkwardly hanging in the air, not knowing how to deal with the situation.

Trent looked at Felix with a raised brow. Felix was sporting a frown and was clueless about how to react to Jasmine clinging to him. Clearly, the man wasn't good at dealing with the opposite sex. Trent smirked.

The crease on Felix's forehead deepened when Jasmine buried her face in his chest deeper and cried harder.

Trent watched as Felix slowly wrapped his hands around Jasmine's body and stroked her back to calm her down.

As Felix, the Head Warden was occupied with calming Jasmine down, Trent, as the deputy, was told by Felix to deal with the two people who had tried to assault Jasmine in their facility.

Trent left the two alone in the room, unwilling to look at the scene that somehow had pricked his heart.

"Thank you," Jasmine uttered.

Both of them slowly released their hold on each other, and took a step back to put a distance between them.

Jasmine averted her eyes from Felix's.

Felix scratched the back of his head, not knowing what to do.

Although her crying had turned into sobs, Jasmine was still in an emotional mess from the lifeless look in her eyes.

After minutes of awkward silence, "Would you like some water?" asked Felix.

Jasmine turned to look at Felix slowly and nodded her head.

Felix looked around them, and seeing the room was in a total mess, he scratched his head again.

"Come with me," he said and held Jasmine by her arm and walked out of the room.

He brought Jasmine to the Head Warden office that recently became his.

"Take a seat," he pushed Jasmine down to sit on the couch.

Felix looked around the room and walked towards the small pantry in the office. He picked up the water jug to pour water into an empty glass, however, from the weight of the jar, he could guess the jug was empty.

Putting back the empty jar, Felix opened the small refrigerator in the pantry. Luckily, there was bottled water lined up inside it.

Felix took one bottle out, uncapped it, and gave it to Jasmine, "here. Have a drink."

Jasmine reached out to take the bottle from Felix, however, she fumbled with her grasp and the bottle dropped on her and the water spilled out, soaking her clothes.

She gasped, feeling the cold water touched her skin, and brought back her sense of reality.

'What rotten luck I have?!' Jasmine felt like screaming her lungs out.

"Are you alright?" Felix asked and took the water bottle from Jasmine before the water could spill out more.

"It's fine," Jasmine answered tiredly. She took the bottle of water from Felix and gulped the water down until the bottle was empty.

"Stay here. I'll find a change of clothes for you," Felix said and left Jasmine alone in the office.

Jasmine lay her head down on the sofa, her hands were folded and served as her pillow. She lay there and thought about her life. Tears threatened to spill out of her eyes again.

Felix came back some time later.

When he walked in, his eyes lay on the girl that had fallen asleep curling on the couch like a kitten.

He put down the box that he brought in with him on the table and pulled the blanket out from it.

Taking the blanket with him, he walked towards the girl and covered her with the blanket.

Something pulled him to the girl. He squatted down in front of the girl's face and looked at the girl's face closely.

Her face was in a mess, with the traces of her painful cries all over it. Her eyes swollen, her nose reddened, her cheek stained with tear streaks, and her lips… Felix's eyes fell on her lips.

Well, her lips are fine. Nothing wrong with it.

However, Felix's gaze couldn't get off from staring at her lips.
