More trainees

"I can't say anything. All I know is that at that very moment, when I saw him I was filled with fear, hate and anger. He looked just like one of the demons that attacked us in the temple that day. And when he hit Jato, it was like deja vu, the whole thing that happened on that day came playing back into my head. I just couldn't control myself. I had lost all sense of reasoning, I was filled with anger and I failed to follow your teachings. I only realized what I had done when Jato called out my name." He was feeling very ashamed of himself. After all the teachings of self control that Old man had given him, his first time facing a demon and he totally lost it....

" it is true that it was wrong of you to lose your temper like that,... But it was also true that you saved the life of your friends." Old man says patting him on the head. These words made Zairo feel more at ease with himself. He felt less ashamed.

The next morning, Zairo woke up with a lighter heart, he didn't oversleep this time, he woke up by 6am. He freshens himself up and decides to go open the store first before he made breakfast. When he got to the back of the house, he saw the door of the training room which lead to the store already open, he taught maybe it was Old man. But then he saw the figure of the person, and it did not look like Old man. He grabs one of the training sticks near him and moves Into the training room, and slowly moves closer to the person.

He lifts the stick up over his head to strike the person, but then fortunately for her, Chinju turned to see him right before he hit her head with a stick.

"Ahhhh,.. She screams in shock and so does Zairo, as he let's go of the stick.." What are you doing.., were you trying to hit me with that stick.., is this because Old man Sam gave me your room.., do you really hate me that much?? The girl was confused as to why he would want to hit her with a stick.

" What?.., I thought you were a thief or a demon, what did you expect me to do? He defended himself..."I mean what are you even doing in here, you are here to steal something right?, if not why will you be in the store when no one else is here? He questions her, and the questions made her angry.

" Are you accusing me of theft huh? I came to open the shop can't you see, or are those big blue eyes for nothing? She said irritatedly, he really had a way of making you angry. If only he wasn't the one that helped her, she would be cursing at him right now..

" Why would you do that, it is my job to open the store, why would you do my work? He asks. He was really getting on her nerves...

" I already took permission from Old man Sam and he says I can open it whenever I feel like, but don't worry if you don't want me to open the store for you, then I won't."...."whenever you feel like? He makes me wake up early to open the store but he gives you a choice? Zairo says feeling cheated.. Chinju was seriously confused first he was angry she opened the shop before him, now he is jealous that she has a choice to open it if she wants to . This boy was a seriously confused fellow.

They continue bickering for a while until Old man decided to come out of his room. He had been hearing their shouting since but did not feel like coming out yet. But it was already past 7 and if he did not stop them, they would be at it till afternoon or maybe the next day even.

"What is going on here??

" Old man you are awake Thank goodness. This girl opened the shop and then she says it was with your permission, and then she said you told her to open it whenever she likes, Is that true Old man?? He asks as he takes heavy deep breaths after all the arguing and the explanation...

"yes it is true....Zairo's eyes widened..."but why, you make me wake up early to open the store and you don't give me a choice, so why does she have a choice? ..he asks pouting." because opening the store is your job and not hers. So she can choose to help you or not." Old man's reply only made Zairo angrier.

" I don't want her help. I can open the store myself" he says as he angrily walks away...Chinju just stands there dumbfounded. She could not believe how someone could be so inconsistent.

They ate there breakfast in silence. Chinju was careful when eating hers, she felt like Zairo could have added a bit of laxatives into her food to make her suffer because all through the breakfast, he was shooting jealous and angry lasers at her from his blue eyes.

When Jato arrived, he was happy to see Zairo finally awake. As usual, he was hungry. He ran to the kitchen, but this time he made sure to ask carefully which one was his before devouring it. He could feel the lasers the two of them were throwing at each other but he just pretended he didn't notice anything.

The store was open and every chore that needed to be done in the house had been done, even though it was done in rivalry, they finished everything they had to do. It was time for Zairo's daily training session.

Old man was explaining something to him when Jato suddenly stood up from where he was seated, walks up to Old man and screams at the top of his voice

"I want to learn too, teach me how to fight too Old man".. His shout surprised them but Old man just asks "are you sure you want to do this?.., if you start, there is no backing out. Training is very hard. Are you sure you can do this??...."yes.. I can and I am ready." it was almost as if he was trying to assure himself that he was ready. "I felt helpless, when we faced that demon I want to be able to fight for myself and protect my friends just like Zairo did."...You could see the smile on Zairo's face "well then if you are ready, I will accept you as my student" Old man says. It somehow felt like he had been expecting the boy to do this since but he did not want to force him, he wanted him to make the decision himself.....Zairo was happy. It would be fun for him to watch as Jato trained alongside him.
